  1. well just fantastic - the PTR was brilliant but to see the action (refer - the picture captions) the whole thing made sense. As for the dog fart coaster - well jeez - It may be a great ride but I don't care how politically correct my homeland is, I'm so glad that coaster is not in my country. I mean - why is the dog so big and the poop so small? - Why didn't they make a huge mound and have a steam jet effect running through? Why does the fart sound like a bark? (or is that a warning of things to come?) Why do I feel the need to dicsuss this with my therapist first thing? Steve- doesn't coaster in his own back yard -C
  2. [quote name="Musical Pete I own four wheels from it, two of which are the flanged rollers (I should think the car they're from got new ones ): http://musical.pete.fotopic.net/p6030486.html well we can but hope they got new ones ! thanks for posting the footage - one of my all time favourite rides, I think I have harped on about it before Steve-BPB puts the 'wild' in wild mouse -C
  3. ^ Rita at Alton Towers - 2 weeks ago and like Bob O that is it for me until the season kicks off next
  4. well - maybe it is just me but I find them all to be head banging rather than ball breaking. Notable exception is Riddlers Revenge which is brilliant. Only thing I would say is don't mess about moving up and down once you've found the right height for you. I remember playing about and the locks were thrown when I was in a strange (and stupid) squat position Steve- hold that position -C
  5. Definately the Matrix (but only the 1st movie), running up walls in slow motion and all that stuff. Sadly Keanu would expire when he is unplugged and flushed down the chute , leaving only me to battle the evil ones with the leading lady
  6. well not a coat you value - pretty much either wear a bin liner or be prepared to get wet (go on early in the day) - this ride really does what it says on the tin - for wetness... the ice blast is so close - go on that a few times to dry yourself off (incoming sea breeze will help also)8) The wild mouse is a true classic - have fun
  7. I'm guessing you can name one or two much better dark (and wet) rides with non standard effects then? looking forward to hearing about them SteveC
  8. Known locally as 'The Gherkin' - also known as something else but I'll keep it clean Great TR - I did Alton on Saturday just gone. Not so much fun in the heavy rain - and there was even a 30 min single rider queue on Spinball (in the rain) place was jumping with people (and rain!). Damn Brits (me included) don't care so much about the rain and just keep on riding and queueing! next time - a mid week visit. SteveC
  9. [quote=" Shari "Almost over the hill :? "Shoufler Nah - you just got up the lift hill, plenty more to climb and loads more fun to be had on the life roller coaster 8) HB - all who share this day also Steve- did the lift hill 3 years ago and looking forward to the Cobra roll-C
  10. altar on which I sacrificed...
  11. assuming best does not necessarily mean the same as the most- Cornball Express for me was the best fun airtime, probably tied with Shivering Timbers (but the rides are very different) SteveC
  12. rode it in June 05 and thought it was great fun. A bit like a bucking broncho, you have to go on a few times and learn how to master it! - it runs very fast, but definately had some airtime (but really that was more throwing you out type of airtime - not gliding quality airtime).
  13. I'm not an ACE member but I think I should join - 'cause I'm fat and it seems to be a good place for the fatties to hang out 8) BTW - 1st Drop is indeed the real deal - sign up, sign up! SteveC
  14. I like how the publicist said of the baby "...it's quite lovely" It? - maybe there is more to the Superman name after all??8) Steve- let's here it for the boy....er alien? -C
  15. I'm happy today because I bailed out of PKS stock with a profit after a roller coaster ride - sorry to bail out on you SF- but, you will get the money back anyway when I spend it in your parks! SteveC
  16. Psyclone SFMM is a ride I won't ever ride again - can't think of a single saving grace -I guess we just didn't hit it off - or rather we did connect way too many times - there was a sort of leg breaking interaction between me and the restraint and the most amazing (amazingly bad) square wheel experience. never been on anything like it (HURRAH) but get this - I really rate Son of Beast - so who can tell SteveC
  17. Hey that cheers me up thanks - I did ride - second back and it is a brilliant ride - for some reason my memory makes me think that it was a bit too short -( I mean so much happening to the very end - no gentle tail off here that maybe I felt short changed) but I think that is because I only rode the once. Also on the plus side - we weren't so much rained off as lightening stormed off which was just spectacular 8) - so it was a bit like a coaster tour with a bit of a 'Wild Weather Tour' thrown in to make up for the bad news - and I got to keep my weather check ticket as a souvenir Steve - Happy faces now replacing the sad faces after all-C
  18. great video - good soundtrack -and I thought it was good editing too. I haven't been to AT for 10 years but I'm going on 8 October. Wey hey - so many new credits to pick up. I really like the look of Spinball. Rita (Queen of dull?) seems to be getting quite a bad press generally, but I don't care. I love Stormrunner, Xcelerator, and in third place TTD - and I am now so pre-psyched to be underwhelmed that I think I'll enjoy her all the more for that. 8) SteveC
  19. Anyway, we actually had a GREAT time, after my three rattler rides, I was a VERY happy person Great to see the park on such a sunny day. In June last, I got rainchecked after 3 hours and only managed 1 ride on the Rattler Having bombed down from Denver that morning there was no time to go back the next day - as it was a slog onto Las Vegas. (Tours wait for no man, or weather interference ) Just looking at all the empty seats made me quite depressed - don't know when I'll be back to ride again. Streve- sorry about the sad faces in this post -C
  20. yessir - UK parks have joined the 21st century at last Steve- might not have to go to the US every year after all-C P.S. - Australia looks interesting too!
  21. made me laugh - I liked the bloke banning himself - think he might have been on the back foot a little bit 'cause it sounded like he was trying to be serious and you all sounded like - whey hey life is a blast and don't be so serious anyway - will tune in again without a doubt.. He banned himself - not so serious after all =got with it in the end
  22. that reminds me of one of the funniest signs I have seen which was in the food outlet at Hershey which said (well something like) 'Chicken in a sub roll - low carb alternative...no roll' hmmmm! - I went with the carbs Steve - like to have bread with my sandwich-C PS looking forward to the report in full - sub rolls and all
  23. enjoyed your TR and pics- (impressed with the pink space jellyfish as well). Do give the Spin Doctor a go on your next visit - it's nothing like it looks in fact it is quite relaxing - I think you'd enjoy the view- even if some of it is upside down at times Steve - putting some relaxing spin on the Spin -C
