Getting off to a dodgy start it seems.......quoting from the Independent 12/9/05 'The park faces a potential lawsuit from the Hong Kong authorities after hygiene inspectors investigating a case of food poisoning were forced to remove their caps and epaulettes by Disneyland security staff before being admitted.................Having been forced to remove shark's fin soup ( :shock: ) from its menu by outraged environmentalists, Disneylands management is still struggling to counter the bad press generated by a disastrous rehersal day on Sep 4 that saw 29,000 visitors queueing for hours for rides and unable to find space in the park's restauarants....' Well - by the sounds of things - what with food poisoning scares and obscure menu items - not being able to find a space in a restaurant sounds like a good thing As for queuing for hours - what's news about that ?? Steve - what happens to the rest of the shark left over from Shark fin soup-C (maybe Shark Tums has a take on this ??)

Best ending for me -Phantom's Revenge - can't think of a worst ending as I'm usually thinking of boring /dullest from the outset, such as the cat's meow thing at SF Kentucky, whatever it's called (I'm sure there is a cat connection -) This topic could be a poll as well - trouble is I don't know how the hell you set the thing up Steve- leave the cat's meow with the cat- C PS - just thought - is it the Wildcat (it came to mind because it is so inappropriate) PPS - it might not even be at Kentucky - I'm thinking of the thing that is based at (what was?) the SF head office park which was not Kentucky Kingdom (there was too much other crap there) - you guys know where I mean?

don't know so much about longest or tallest but I have never been more wet than when I stepped off Valhalla at BPB, with the added bonus of being a well themed dark ride (with a quick peek outside at one point) Cheers SteveC

well we too in the UK have just hit $6.50 for a gallon. (converting at $1.71) We sell in litres and the price has just gone to £1 per litre - clearly this was never expected as the papers report today that most of the station signs can't take more than 2 digits for the price i.e. - no-one expected it to go over 99p to say 101p - :? :o It looks like Germany have it pretty tough as well so in a daft way that makes me feel better that we are not the only ones being hammered at the petrol station. (in our case mainly by government taxation of course) Welcome to the club everyone else! SteveC

Well AT is mainly read by Americans and most of the voters are from the States. Americans aren't renowned for travelling far afield (not that there is anything wrong with that as there is so much to do and so many different cultures already in the States- if I was an American I could see the attraction of not needing to 'go long-haul' when from North East to South West is a fairly mega trip in its own right -okay enough diplomatic creeping about you 'stay at homes' from me on that issue!! ), so AT need to attract a few voters from outside. They do occasionally canvas voters from say Europe - just email and ask and you can probably get on the list (subscribing to AT would be essential though) As for BPB being No3 - note the voting system is on a points basis and you rank say your favourite 5 parks in order for example, the 1st getting 20 points and the next getting 10 points and so on. So it is possible that a park not necessarily the best on anyones list, but appearing somewhere on everyones list can aggregate enough points to move them to the top (or much higher than anyone thought) Finally sorry to be ignorant but what is Mitch's poll and where do I find it? I just don't remember - that's the ageing process I guess. I'm sure the only way I came across your site though was via Coasterfanatics.com but however it happened I'm pleased to say I did find it.

chatting generally earlier I was discussing the merits of crazy mouse rides (dark in some cases, spinning cars vs. the likes of the Wild Chipmunk type ) and I vote the Wild Mouse at BPB as the craziest (possibly the oldest in existence) of that style. Anyone else have a favourite of this type - or know of one older?? Also does anyone have pictures of the BPB Wild Mouse to post or link too? Many thanks Steve

It was only when I joined a coaster club that I became aware of the negative feeling to SF parks amongst enthusiasts and only then did I think well yes, the service isn't that great, the ops are not particularly happy people, the parks are not all that well maintained. Was I becoming an enthusiast snob as generally there are many good coasters to be ridden in the SF mix? Notable exceptions to my lasting impression of SF parks (as I guess I have after all become a bit sniffy about SF) are San Antonio and SF over Texas, where even the staff were friendly. I vote the 'SF Texas' management team should rise to the challenge and take the reins.

restarting the party...I was in that single rider wheelchair access queue in June along with a few others (none of us in wheelchairs though). The ride ops would only let single riders on in 2's and we watched many an unoccupied seat go by. That was novel...........!
