Ahh, no Gardaland teaser pics! I totally agree with you on that verticle slide. I know I have ridden taller ones, but that was definatly the scariest one I have ever been on. I think that it's minimalist design is what really did it for me. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach may be the biggest, but it's certainally much more stable looking. Also, it doesn't have that "Holy crap this thing is shaking so bad it looks like it can come down at any second" vibe. Honestly after I rode it I still wished I hadn't done it, freaky! The water jump though was awesome! 15 feet straight down and then off a ramp! Brilliant! -Don -

Any Disney Pin Traders here?
Jeezus Juice replied to DarkStitch626's topic in Random, Random, Random
Alright, for a while Disney was actually celebrating Disneylands Birthday by having maps/passports/post cards that you could take around the park, collect stamps, and recieve a pin when completed. If you had an AP you also got a bonus pin! They did this for the 44th, 45th, and 46th birthdays. 44th: 'A good days climb' The round Matterhorn pin plus the AP matterhorn with mickey pin. 45th: 'Walk in Walt's Original Magic Kingdom' That's where I got the 'Map Pin' plus the AP golden scroll looking one. 46th: something about sailing This is where I got the 46th anny rectangle balloon pin and my favorite, the AP Imagineering a new attraction pin! Too bad they quit after that. It was fun going to the park around the birthday and getting cool stuff. Are you kidding!? lol! Sorry, but I do have some HISTA pins that I'll trade for just about anything!! Like cheese on a Ritz cracker!! For some reason I'm not really into the pins anymore. I mean, I love the one's I have, but lately when I go to the park nothing they have really looks that great to me anymore. Sad really, because I used to buy all kinds of these damn things! I also have a complete set of the Disney Store 100 years of Magic pin series somewhere. When it turns up in my crap somewhere I'll post those! -DisneyDon -

They did that for Craig. I guess they thought changing the name would get rid of the roughness. We shall see... They just went over to Pat & Oscars, which means that they now suck! I was stuck with some MAry's Pizza Shack here at home. That's what you get Monica for leaving a pizza coupon behind! Ha ha!! -Donizzly -

Allright! You made it through LA without Tori Spelling trying to eat you! Congrats!! Be sure to post more pictures after your nap. -Don -
Well remember, ideas at Disney never really die. They just show up in later projects usually quite different then they started. Given that what, 10 years has passed since the original 'Beastly Kingdom' ideas were created I'd imagine that what will be built will be totally different than what has been talked about for so long. That said, with all the projects disney has worked on for the last decade I'm sure they have a ton of impressive ideas kicking around the imagineering archives. It is the rumor that never dies, but there does seem to be renewed interest in DAK recently. Can't wait to see what they come up with! -Don

All right, I guess it's time for me to come out of the pin closet. This is where I lock them away. Can you believe I used to actually walk around the park with this thing?! Meh, these are some of the back page dregs. Some of them are pretty cool though. This is one of the first TDS pins ever made. I picked this up at Disneyana 2000. Oh yeah! I got me a Club 33 pin! I also have a Hurcules Victory Parade era Dumbo pin. Monica's page, mostly character pins Probably my favorite DCA pin. This place isn't even open anymore! Most of these are opening DCA pins One of my favorites from WDW, PRE STITCH!! Every stinkin' New ('98) Tomorrowland pin Haunted Mansion 30th anniversary like whut! Some of my favorites -

I almost dated a Bratz doll once. We got to talking in a Target store and she gave me her number. Turns out it was for the main store switchboard and when I went back she had been sold! Since then me and Polly Pocket have been getting kinda serious so I think it worked out in the end.

^ LOL! Looks like Wally finally got a myspace account!! Q: Hi Cedar Point, I'm a hard drinking transexual who had a fling with a robust male ride op on Demon Drop 2 years ago...all I remember was his firm heiney and sexy limp. Anyclue where he is now? A: Uhh...That was y....THAT'S ALL FOR THIS WEEK!!!! -
Allright, you guys probably don't know this about me but back before I got into coasters and parks I was REALLY into Disneyland. Now I check out parks all over the country, but back in '98/'99 all I did was go to Disneyland. I used to post in an old usenet newsgroup alt.disney.disneyland under the screen name virus11. Well, someone had taken one of my ideas that I posted 7 years ago and I just found it on some geocities site! Strange huh? Check it out! http://www.geocities.com/~mastergorsh/rumors.html Here's the full text: Alright, how many of you come out of pirates, hit HM and Splash and unwittingly find yourself stuck way out in the corner of Critter Country having to backtrack all the way to Adventureland to resume touring. Now, Critter Country is great and all, but I hate having to trudge all the way back to NOS to continue my day SO I came up with an idea. Swap the canoe docks with the keelboat landing and put a new landing over by the fry cart and have the keelboats provide one way service from CC to Frontierland and back. This would do three things: -Put the keelboats back in use -Renew interest in them and, -Dramatically decrease the traffic snarl on that narrow walkway Posted on alt.disney.disneyland newsgroup -- Virus11@aol.com -- 7/08/99 Weird huh?

You can book the hotel right from their main site. Although when I stayed there last year I just booked it through travelocity.com and saved about 40 'quid a night. We also had that awesome view! Nothing like being woken up in the morning by Big One testing! -Don -

Some guy kept giving me his defination on why it was a slide and not a coaster. Even though I kept telling him I didn't care! Wheels, track, gravity = one awesome ride! Keep in mind while you watch that POV that you're only secured by a lap belt and the cart you ride on is about the size of a plastic lunchtray! Thanks for finding the video Yngve! -Don -

^OK, you all officially SUCK now!!! Have fun at the buffets while I'm stuck at work. I guess I know who my REAL friends are...my 12-pack of diet soda and the scary guy who mops the floors. At least they won't leave me! ...well, I guess I wouldn't mind mop guy ditching me for a while. -
Whatever Mr. "Demon Drop", How many times did you go to Sandusky last year? Too hard to let go of those old, awkward feelings? Have fun sitting in traffic for 3 hours just to go to Bonfante Gardens...if you need me, I'll be at Epcot asleep in the bushes... -Don ...with a can of beverly between my legs...

Agreed, the east absolutely crushes the west. There is nothing california has that florida doesn't do better. Heck, Sheikra alone owns half of SFMM at least! Now I'm going to be slammed for being 'unpatriotic' or some crap... -Deezy

Going to Disneyworld...
Jeezus Juice replied to l3ite_me1313's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Dude, you can't base your opinion of a park on how bad the crowds were on the day you visited! That's hardly a representative account to go by. Did you get there early? Did you use fastpass/single rider lines? Also, which park are you comparing to Disneyland? I think Disneyland has a better atmosphere than Magic Kingdom, but are you saying that the DLR resort was more impressive to you than the 4 themeparks, resorts, golf courses, waterparks, and reliable transportation at WDW? Not trying to nag, just trying to get an idea. As for the original question, you are the only one who can know if WDW is worth it to you. Is $200+ for admission plus flight costs, rental car, and hotel worth 3-5 days at some parks? For me it is and I go at least once a year, but it can be expensive...how much are you willing to budget? -Don (trying to protect WDW from hataz too!)
