  1. I think this means a late season trip to PA! Like I need an excuse to go back to K-nobs! -Don
  2. Hey all, I'm looking into a trip to Mexico City and I'm having trouble finding solid info on Feria Chapultepec. Does anyone know for sure that the park operates year round? The only official site I could find lists park hours Monday through Friday but has no mention of months at all. http://www.cie-mexico.com.mx/index.php?fuseaction=home.div&id=128 Also the spanish language version of the site (but not the english version) lists prices that, if they are in pesos, don't seem reasonable ($3 entry fee?) This other site looks like it hasn't been updated since 2003 and has no mention of an amusment park at all! http://www.feriachapultepec.com.mx/ So if anyone has been or knows of a fan site or anything, that would be great. Also the official SFM site has hours posted http://www.sixflags.com.mx/ but no mention of ride refurbs. I'd like to go in early spring (march/april) but don't want to miss the new Hyper. Thanks guys! -Don
  3. Those wouldn't by chance be the new "KumbaK" steel coaster trains are they? I think they may have also been used on a vekoma corkscrew somewhere...weird. They do look pretty funky though. -Don EDIT ^ Homeboy beat me to it!
  4. I can't believe this went 5 pages and nobody mentioned a mack bobsled. That is totally the way to go since you can totally recline and kick back with like...a diet pepsi or something and just zone out. If I did it I would pick either the one at PKD or Blackpool. Then for added comfort I'd find a nice portly girl to sit behind me so I would be all comfy and warm. Plus she could hold my nachos and my diet pepsi. Yeah, that's totally how I'd do it. I'd kick her out for the final lap though so I wouldn't have to share my record, or find an alternate plumper as a backup when my primary needed service. Don "Beat that Guy" Garrison
  5. I would go if it wasn't Memorial day weekend. I'm sure I can find a slightly less crazy expensive/crowded week to go. Plus without ACE there there will be more pizza for me!
  6. I'd say that that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen but I'm sure he's heard that already. Then again people think what I do is dumb so kudos to him for achieving...whatever it is that he's done. -don
  7. OMG! I totally made out with the girl on the right at a frat party in Jersey last june! God, she's even annoying on tape! I never would have done it without the malt liquor. St. Ides does some crazy stuff to you! -Don
  8. ^ that wasn't very funny...is something wrong wes?
  9. ^ That's because slitting your wrists lowers your blood pressure. I do it to calm myself down all the time. You just have to wear wristbands to hide the scars, otherwise people will think your crazy! -Don :adjusts wristbands:
  10. Looks like you've already made your decision. Basically though, the one deal breaker for me in reguards to "premium" level passes is parking. Since it's not included I can't see much of a benefit. Since you have a pass you obviously go frequently and never buy park food. Also, while the early entry to the waterpark seems nice, that's assuming full park operations at time of entry. It wouldn't suprise me to find only 1 or 2 slides actually open during your "ERT". Meh, it's Six Flags. It's not like you get additional benefits at other parks. The Busch park passes are TOTALLY worth it though. At the "Platinum" level you get free preferred parking at ALL of their parks/water parks as well as free entry and merch/food discounts. I whored the crap out of my pass last year. -Don
  11. OK, I'll say it...Erica is hot. -Don (please tell me she's not 12 or anything!)
  12. Hey, I just watched your Sark vid. That sideways topspin looks pretty crazy. I really want to ride one of those Intamin inverts (well, besides Volcano I guess). That song is going to give me nightmares for sure though. Damn you Xenox!! -Don
  13. I guess I'll post in this thread finally! I had no idea that there were this many parks in Japan that I didn't know about! That Tivoli park looks awesome. How is it that a country the size of California can have all these parks AND have them open year round but Vallejo can't see to have SFMW open? We drove by yesterday and all the coasters are sitting there like "Yeah, we run just fine in 65 degree weather, we have no idea why they won't let us run" Awesome pics! Have fun guys! -Don
  14. I used to count dark rides like Devil's Den (Conneaut) and Ghost Trains (Blackpool) as wooden coasters! I figured that they if they have a chain lift, a gravity powered drop and hill and coast back to the station under their own power they must be coasters right...right?! Then I felt "diirty" and removed them from the list. Dood! The Sun Wheel is totally 16 credits! :goes to update his count:
  15. The reason for the Mag brakes on Intamin Splashovers (Hydro, Plunge, Jurassic Park) is to lessen the length of the run out. Without them the rides footprint would be huge, cost more, ect. The reason for the covered boat may have something to do with the fact that it's about 45 degrees out and there are chunks of ice floating in the resivoir. Oh, and to piss you guys off of course. -D
  16. ^ Are you serious? Dude, I would ride a dippin dots stand if it had a 20 foot animatronic yeti. I know we are "enthusiests" and everything but come on... -Don chernabog.nltrack Have a good ride
  17. Back when I was driving a totla ghetto-booty machine I would park at the youth park just north of SFMW and walk 1/2 a block. As for SFMM I'm thinking either in the neighborhood just south of the parking lot entrence or east on SFMM parkway somewhere. Either way the hike up the hill probably won't be worth it. Just make your boyfriend pay the $10. Your worth it right?! -don
  18. I got a TPR hoodie and a FAT royalty check! Thanks Sonofbeastsucks!!! Oh yeah, I also got a 3 night hotel package at the Tokyo Disney Ambassador for next month and yeah OMG Holla! Alas my nude coaster calender didn't show up AGAIN this year...hrmf... -don
  19. If I may pipe in on the Screamin' Squirrel thing... The ride is obvously a gimmick, but I didn't find it uncomfortable in any way. At least not anymore uncomfortable than a Sky Swat (the both use the same restraints). I think S&S did a great job of bringing a ride like this to life. Weather or not it was really nessisary, well, that's certainly up for debate. For the record, I did re-ride it. And I would take it over a bomerang ANY DAY. -Don
  20. I thought Zonga kicked ass. I don't get the headbanging at all! Is something wrong with me? As long as you don't ride in a cramped rear seat. It's seriously my favorite coaster at SFMW. I used to go every week for an hour or two just to jump on it a few times. I only went to the park twice in 05 because Zonga was down. I don't get the new train theory. There is a stack of trains by Roar's transfer track, what the crap is wrong with those? The ride is almost as old as I am, I think any train problems would've been fixed by now. I think the problem is with Six Flags and their staffing issuses and maintenance budget... -Don
  21. Good luck with Zonga at SFMW! It didn't operate AT ALL this year! Ugh, that pissed me off to no end, I actually like the ride. -Don
  22. The song is Eminem's "Just Lose It" that somebody remixed with the polka accompanyment. I don't know who did the remix or even if it's commercially available. The song was found in an online flash animation and I got it from there. The song itself is kinda meh but that polka beat just cracks me up! Great Shannon, I'm glad you like it! Hopefully I can have another DVD project next year! -Don EDIT- I did a little bit of research and I found out that the song was remixed by someone named "DJ NoNo" and the song can be found here: http://www.mutantpop.net/artists/?author_name=djnono It's called "Just lose the accordian". Apperently the polka music is by Myron Floren. Hope that helps! Direct link: http://www.mutantpop.net/go.php?url=32
  23. That's pretty much the whole reason S&S aquired Arrow, for their lucritive parts and matainence catalog. And don't worry, it took some time but I made the transition from ADD/RADP Pinhat wearing Disneyland Goon to full-fledged coaster tool. It was pretty painful and I have some scars but I do get to go to a lot more parks now! Just trade in your pin vest for a patch jacket and join the fun! -Don "No longer just 'DCADon'"
  24. Pretty much anything that's not senseless nationalistic patriotic garbage. If I have to sit through one more salute to "heros" I'm going to choke somebody! Because really, anybody can put out fires. It takes a real hero to come and pick up my garbage every week!! Oh, I'd like to second Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. Gold team baby! Best park show ever! Even if your not a show person...you must see this one!! -Don
  25. A broken thermometer closed a school?! Over-react much! I remember playing with mercury before when I was little. It's like the worlds most fun liquid! Just don't drink it or put it in your eyes or anus! They probably just cleared the area so Hazmat could clean it up eaiser. They just have to make sure a sweeper doesent squegee toxins down a storm drain. Well, at least a Fire Cheif probably got to play "Hero". Yum, fiberglass resin!
