  1. ^^ Ahh, you must've caught "Bad Fantasmic!" It's much better at Disneyland (if you can get a spot!). Busch shows are always really good. Even though I hate animals (inside joke) I always enjoy their shows much more than I think I'm going to. My favorite show from recent years was "Dr. Cleaver's" show at haunt 2004. All the songs were good, the dancing was awesome, the jokes were funny ass hell (PG-13!), and during the pole dancing part one of the dancers nipples kept popping out! Go Knotts!! -Don "Sorry Stitch, it was a female dancer!" Garrison
  2. Don't forget the kid at Playland (Rye) who somehow managed to get underneath his boat on the Old Mill. How in the crap he did that I have no idea. It's been a much better year than last year. Remember May 2004?! OMG, I thought the casualties would never end! -Don
  3. I can totally see a Halo-themed thrill ride. Probably sometime after the movie comes out though! Who's doing Halo anyway? I could see Paramount doing a retheme of FOF. -Don
  4. Dead bodies covered in BLOOD!! Kip, you're SICK!! I want to see dead bodies covered in barbeque sauce ONLY from now on!! "...just ate my first dead body last week...still got the fingernail caught in my teeth..." ^ Dude I seriously love your avatar.
  5. Why should he be gypeed on a credit just beacuse Paramount was too ghetto to buy a new coaster? IMO if you made the effort to ride a stupid vekoma in Nor*Cal AND South Carolina you need to reward yoself bro. Monica even went a step further and counted it again without even riding it! Now that's hard core! -Don
  6. Carousel Inn, directly across the street from the main pedestrian enterence, free brakfast and really nice rooms. Otherwise there's the Park Vue, Tropicana, Desert Inn, and Park Inn International right across the street. Why do you guys insist on using $3/day trams when Harbor is full of places right at the entrence? Also people REALLY like the Candy Cane Inn next to the ABC Liquor Store near the 7/11 at the corner of Harbor and Katella. Never stayed there myself though. -Don
  7. OMG dave! I hope your ready to have lots of visitors soon. The more I learn about Dubai the more I wanna go check it out! I believe that's the first portable suspended coaster I've seen. How was the Iraq pavilion? Just like being there?! -DubaiDon
  8. OMG I totally agree with blazn! Do the japanese have NO RESPECT for SFMM!! Valencia must me TURNING IN IT'S GRAVE!!!!!!! X WILL MEAN NOTHING NOW!!! 0H N00zzZ!!!!1
  9. It was getting late, I was hungry, and even though I had a pass $10 for parking for a braked ride on Mamba just didn't sound appealing. To make up for it Monica bought a jaw harp at a cracker barrel that provided much more entertainment than it's $3.95 should have allowed. That and the mini accordion my brother bought at SDC. If I wouldn't've fell into the fountain at CC with my camera there would have been alot more funny stuff on the DVD! -Don
  10. Whats in that Indiana Beach can?
  11. Mostly things I don't ride are rides I don't trust. The worst offender has to be a Zipper. It sucks because I think the ride is fantastic, but those 40 yr old cotter pins just worry me too much to enjoy the ride. I'd love to see S&S or Zamperla revisit the concept with upgraded safety features. The Starflyer I rode scared the crap out of me. I would of hoped they would have added stronger seats and chains with the added height. But no, those are basically the same seats and chains as the normal flying carousels, only about 200 feet higher! I don't have a problem with the rides on the Strat, but that Starflyer though, whoa... -Don
  12. Wait! Stone mountain has a credit?! I thought it was only boring "nature" stuff. I'm so there! -Don
  13. Ok, I know you've all been waiting to hear from me! I give to you; Don's 2005 Coaster Retrospecticus Jan/Feb: I know we went to the SoCal parks a bunch of times. March: Took two weeks off of work and hung out in Vegas, hit up Scandia in Ontario, more of the same SoCal stuff, something called Solace. Apr: SFOG was open daily for a week in Apr so I took the week off and went out to check out the park for my first time. Figured I might as well drive down and hit USO, WDW, Sea World, and Old Town. Went to WA but it was closed due to rain. May: First week we went to Cedar Point because my brother decided to work there. Delierium (I mean maXair) was cool, stopped by Kennywood for opening day. Later in the month we decided to go back to Florida because we got rained out WA, plus SheiKra had finally opened. We also went back to WDW, UFO, BGT, Old Town, and went to Cypress gardens for our first time. June: Finally the coaster season started. We went out to ride Kingda Ka twice and failed both times, Hydra was fun, went to Lake Comp for the first time with a real life Yankee, stopped by SFNE cause it was there (and it rocks) and figured we might as well check out Canobie cause KK was being a douche. Oh, and we went back to Rye Playland to pick up some creds we missed in 04. Since my brother got fired from Cedar Point around this time he joined us in Missouri for some SDC/CC action. We drove right by WOF cause it sucks and went to the Olathe, KS Jeepers instead cause we're straght ballers like that. Later in the month we manage to go to the Marin County Fair, Sonoma Tarintown, and I met up with Wally at PGA. I'm sure we were at SFMW at some point but my brain is trying to block that park out. July: Finally we got to go on an actual coaster trip. We flew out to the UK for Alton, Blackpool and Thorpe and then met up with the ECC for a tour through parks in Hungary, Austria, and Italy. Venice doesent smell and the Alps friggen rock! After the trip we went to Paris, DLP, and Asterix then flew back to the UK for some Chessington before we went home. August: This will be known as the credit whore month. Lets just say we went to about 15 places (I wont even call them 'parks') with no more than 2 coasters a peice, and in many cases only one. We also got to go to Mt. Olympus for some Hades action, SFGAm cause it rules, and Satans Village so I could finally ride that awesome Top Fun looper. Seriously, I'd been wanting to ride it for some time. I actually re-rode it a few times, it was really fun...seriously! Sept: I'm sure we went back to SoCal, but the real treat was finally going to the Puyallup Fair in Washington. That places kicks. Oct: I went to Haunt at Knotts like 5 times. Still haven't been to HHN, maybe next year. Nov: No coasters, but on a trip to Eureka, CA I finally got to ride the Willits skatepark. This for me is what all other parks will be measured by from here on out. Best park ever. Do board slides count as credits? Dec: Other than a ski trip to Tahoe we haven't done much. The month is long though...who knows. I'm totally suffering from park withdrawl...good thing we decided to go to Japan next month (no not with the Alveys). Otherwise it'd be until Feb that we got on a coaster again! I know I have this all documented on a DVD somewhere...hmm... -Don "Off season...what's that?!"
  14. Make sure to have lots of eggnog on hand when you watch it! Anyone else picking up a stocking stuffer for yourself? -Don
  15. ^ yousendit.com, megaupload.com, rapidshare.de...I'm sure there are a lot more. ^x5 DIE! -Don
  16. Thanks a bunch for the pics and insider information. I'll buy you a Dole whip when I come out there in feburary! I hope the trains don't destroy anymore of the themeing... -Don
  17. They could at least donate the proceeds to a worthy cause, you know, one that may actually be feasible... Donna is definately not doing anything at my house. -Deezy
  18. We have nothing like that in the US. The only US Weigand installation I know of is in the mountains near Denver. While that's not the ride I was thinking of it definately looks pretty bad ass, and did you see those trampolines in the background?! Score! -Don
  19. There is so much that goes on during our trips besides the actual parks we go to. Hopefully it provides a context for all the boring coaster footage I use! For the record, I was the only one getting drunk, I don't do it often, and I did make up all those pirate songs on the spot! That's just cause I outshine you! That's what you get for not riding Taxi Jam with me and that random 6 year old. If you only knew what your getting into, bwa ha ha... Just kidding, enjoy the disc! -Don
  20. I know what hes talking about but I don't remember where I saw it. Basically it's one suspended car with 4 across seating with supports very far apart with cables providing the bulk of track support. The layout that I've seen pictures of was a prototype that kinda just glides around through the treetops. It's not the kind of ride a major park would get but it'd probably work in a zoo or botanical type place. Don
  21. Well, that was pretty much the most disturbing thread I've read on here so far. That KidTums comment was pretty funny though. -Don
  22. That 360 smashing video was pretty awesome. You could see some of the guys hearts weep... ...dude, can I have your controller...please?! -Don "Doesen't want an overheating stall-BOX" Garrison
  23. LOL! Yes, that is exactly right. If only those frenchies would've had a small, shady amusment park...
  24. Well, I heard from a very reliable source that the reason it's closed is because I heard a wheel flew off, hit some guy in the back of the head at a swim in bar and killed him. And a everyone on the train was injured. Then another train ran into it. At least that's what he said the news said.
