Cedar Point - Hotel Questions
larrygator replied to eyeamthu1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Two weekdays should be fine to get everything done at CP. And if you arrive Monday in Sandusky you can probably get some things out of the way Monday night. Assuming you will have the MAXX pass. Only thing to be aware of it that TTD tends to be tempermental early in the season due to colder weather. If winter makes it east of Colorado this year. -
^^oven is fine for the Pop Tart, Bake on 350 for 3 minutes then Broil for the last 30 seconds.

#6 checking in - they added me for an East Coast opinion Or should I say potential #6, they found out I was straight and kicked me out because that quota was already filled.

Cedar Point - Hotel Questions
larrygator replied to eyeamthu1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well there is also the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I've never been but have heard that some people love it. and it also sounds like he wants to shop to take advantage of the exchange rate -
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer that can be accepted as universal truth. Not matter what anyone says there is no documented proof of someone going to heaven or hell and returning to earth. That is why it is called faith. I'm a science guy by nature and logic tends to rule my life but I strongly beleive that a supreme being is behind everything. I don't know how that supreme being came to be, so don't ask. Some religions will tell you that God is a compassionate, loving and forgiving being yet at the same time say that you must conform to a set of rules to be saved. That doesn't sound compassionate to me.

Cedar Point - Hotel Questions

How many people are you traveling with? I have the 2006 rates in front of me and Elissa rates look accurate for the newer sections of the hotel (Breakers East and the Towers). The rooms mid-week in the older section with 2 double beds could be as cheap as $150 a night before taxes during August. About $170 after taxes. You should send them an e-mail and ask to be put on their mailing list as they usually have packages available that could save you money since you are not a season pass holder. Even though me, my sister and brother-in law had season passes we saved money with the package deal and didn't even use the free admission tickets they gave us. Another perk staying at the CP resorts that is not clearly stated is that you can buy one day admission tickets at a discounted $31 versus the walk-up price of $39. -

Tom Sawyer's Island
larrygator replied to Ryan King's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Am I the only one who had trouble reading Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Saywer growing up. It took me longer the decipher the phonetic spelling by Mark Twain than other books I was assigned. In my trips to WDW as a tyke (aged 6, 9, 11 and 13); neither myself, nor anyone in my family, ever visited Tom Sawyer Island. -
Excellent a 9/10. Get rid of the "pounding" and it is worthy of a 10/10

Letter from Cedar Fair
larrygator replied to Milkchan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hope it was written in crayon just so Stacy realizes this was not a functioning adult. For the record, Stacy is quite professional. As a Cedar Fair stockholder, I have written to her in the past both times received a prompt professional response. But of course she can't divulge anything due to insider trading regulations. -

Have you ever had someone ask you...
larrygator replied to MisterP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I should have fully addressed the specifics of your situation. When front or back car are involved and you have been waiting for a while then no you should not feel bad at all about what you did. I completely agree with you there. -

happens to me all the time and what I say varies on the situation. If it is a family that doesn't appear to go to parks all the time and they ask nice I usually say yes. If the group is already trying to push their way ahead of me and/or if they are nasty about it I say no and tell them to have the other people wait for them. If it is a single rider trying to fill an individual spot on a ride and I am with others I always let them pass. -
Tom Sawyer's Island

well being that the PoTC ride was a huge success and popular ride for year before a movie existed I don't think a dying fad should be a concern. Pirates hold a lot of lore in kid's imagination. -

This thread needs to be resurrected every December, a true classic and not in a good way. -
My family and I were in Florida in January 1986 .. we saw Challenger on the launch pad just days before its last flight. It was quite surreal to watch that launch (and what happened) on TV after we'd returned to Melbourne. Quite literally changed my life because that morning I was an Aerospace Engineering Major and a couple of days later I switched majors.

^^calum - how long are the episodes in Scotland? In the US, six one hour episodes aired this year.

Colussus - I loved it, but I'm a sucker for zero-g rolls, in-line twists - whatever we call them -

Hey Rich - what are you trying to start? James is my favorite blue hair under the age of 70! -
Soren - if I knew you would have had 3 chicks with you I so would have been your tour guide. Keep in mind that this time of year a lot of those rude New Yorkers are actually tourists. The rushing is because we are worked to the bone and generally have 30 minutes to finish lunch and since commutes are so long (longer than your hour train ride) people are usually rushing to catch commuter trains/buses so they don't sit around 30 minutes waiting for the next one. I have always found NYers to be rude to each other but helpful to strangers. I know whenever I see someone looking at a map I try to help them out.
