  1. Labor Day - first Monday in September - the last weekday operating day for practically all parks outside of California and Florida. Some parks with Halloween events are open on weekends through October.
  2. FYI - Thunderbolt has not been standing for about 5 years. I'll get back to you about the rest when I figure out the purpose of it all.
  3. warm, stale beer - I would have passed.
  4. ^one can cearly see the PVC is outside the slide
  5. I don't know how these guys escaped from the subways. They usually get caught by the Chinese restaurants for the daily cats and rats specials.
  6. ^a hernia is 100 times better than X:/NWO however, those added indoor effects you mention do sound like they added a little to the ride versus a similar outdoor one I rode in New Jersey.
  7. ^You can tell it's a slow off season when this thread has 4 pages of responses
  8. Maybe they should get a new slogan like: "Hey people, if more of you come to the park and boost attendance, Geauga Lake will get new coasters. Now stop whining and buy a Season Pass"
  9. Although I never rode Black Hole, it appears similar to the City Jet that used to be at Gillians in Ocean City, NJ. If BH is similar to City Jet I don't see what the big deal is about people longing for the ride or professing its' greatness. Spinball Whizzer is a lot of fun, even if the queues are a little longer it is a far superior ride to what I think the Black Hole was.
  10. But the whole tattoo thing just opened up more questions. The woman in Thailand only did some of the symbols, more were subsequently added around the original work. sorry - I don't remember the preview for this epsiode (regarding the bombs), but it looks like the others have a VW bus next week.
  11. OK, so at least I'm going to get my wish and see the homes that the others vacated. That answers one of my questions. Next weeks show looks like it will be better (yeah for confrontation)
  12. I sure hope it lives up to expectations later tonight.
  13. Herbster - do yourself a favor and don't stop at Sylvan Beach, especially on your honeymoon. It is only a step up from Coney Beach in Wales, although much cleaner.
  14. I'll jump in for R&E since I live in the area and know these parks. There is nothing major directly between NYC and Buffalo. The best option on the drive between the two cities is Seabreeze in Rochester, NY about 60 minutes round trip from the major highway, but I'm not sure of their opening date. Darien Lake is along to way but closer to Niagara Falls. When you get to Niagara Falls you will have a couple of options, although none are GREAT parks, Darien Lake (formerly Six Flags), Martin's Fantasy Island and Marineland (in Canada). Again not sure of opening dates. Seabreeze has a good spinning coaster (like Spinball Whizzer), Darien Lake has a Superman: Ride of Steel and Martin's Fantasy Island has an excellent wooden coaster in Silver Comet. Seabreeze and MFI sometimes have discount tickets for the evening only which is reasonably priced and each park only takes a couple of hours. a stop at Great Escape would increase the total drive by approx 4 hours. While in NYC, Six Flags Great Adventure and Rye Playland are each 90 minutes away by car and Astroland is a 90 minute subway ride from Manhattan. hope this helps but you should check the websites of each park for operating schedules and discounted specials
  15. Erik - I have been to Six Gun Territory. I can't say I remember it well since I was only 5 years old in 1972. On the famillies first trip to Florida in addition to DisneyWorld we went to Six Gun Territory, Busch Gardens (pre-rides) and the Orange Tower is Clearmont - what a bunch of carpetbaggers. Six Gun Territory page at Lost Parks Website
  16. I also think 60-70 year old guys with pierced ears are amusing. aargh matey! I mean at least I got to retire my cheesy high school mustache and Flock of Seagulls haircut.
  17. What makes shaving her head any dumber than getting another tattoo, at least the hair in not permanent. I love laughing at tattoos on old, wrinkly skin! People must think I'm a psycho at the gym constantly laughing at: women wearing what they shouldn't, old wrinkly tattoos, people lip synching to their iPods and others falling off treadmills.
  18. Congratulations to our members from The Netherlands. These guys show why it is important for the rest of us to use proper grammar and spelling. A simple missing comma changes the whole meaning of a sentence, making it difficult for those who's native language is not English.
  19. I selected Golf since Lacrosse is not an option
  20. Further proves my theory that "hockey" = "soccer on ice" except the hooligans are both on the ice and in the stands
  21. ^Derek says the same about you.
  22. but at least they claim they are going to answer 3 questions next week. In the preview for next week the woman that Jack asks "why are you here" and she responds "to watch": I can only assume that she is one of the survivors kidnapped early one. Was it Cindy? I'm bad with faces. I think Charlie has been creepy ever since he became attached to pregnant Claire.
  23. 6ft 4in and only 150 lbs - sorry that is freaky
  24. that is correct Einstein!
  25. I got away with it at Hershey on two snaps by acting like I had no idea what was doing. Yes, the guy at Oakwood was very confused when we boarded and we told him not to stop the ride if it started snapping.
