Coasters after childbirth
larrygator replied to Marko's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I see plenty of mothers riding with their kids at parks. The only coasters I truly see mothers terrified of are the huge launch coasters like Kingda Ka and TTD. The two married women that I know best (sister and my best freind's wife) still ride coasters after having kids. My best friend's wife did not ride for a while because she was into girly things. Coincidently my best friend, he is afraid of coasters. My mother never rode coasters but that's because she is terrified of heights. We always had to stay on the first floor of a motel. No hi-rise hotels for her. -

Except when she goes to school wearing a dress made from a burlap sack because her parents spent or their funds on coastering. -

Marko - I'm in the same boat as you. 39 and single and do the online dating thing also and have of course noticed the same thing. I'd say 2/3 of the women I talk to think it is weird that I love coasters and amusement parks. I pretty much turn it around and ask them how often they go shopping and if they need everything they buy. Of the 1/3 that are not turned off about the coasters, half of them don't want to hear the truth about their shopping obsession is just as weird to us. That's why Elissa is way cool, she is not a shopper and spends all her dough on coasters. Seriously, for few that understand I tell them I like to be happy and what is happier than being around others that are enjoying themselves. It is great for traveling. Also, you don't want to be the future father the kids who laugh at you for not going on rides at amusement parks. Of course many of these women don't want you to have a hobby because they want to spend your money on themselves. I'm not a psychiatrist but if I run into a 13 year old whose mom is, I will ask their advice. -

My mother used to tell my sister that riding roller coasters is was bad for reproducing. As if my mom's drinking and smoking was good. My sister just had her second kid and will be back to riding in April. My mom also told me that it was bad for my brain, all that rattling around on the coasters. I might have to consult a doctor, or someone whose mom is a doctor for a real answer. -
Service animals are not only for the blind. Although it is most common for service dogs to be used with the blind, dogs (and monkeys) are trained to assist those with varied disabilities. Also, keep in mind that ROTM is an indoor ride and many visitors to USH are from out of town and the vast majority do not spend all day on TPR and go to parks without knowing the specifics of every ride. Many of the general public don't even know it is a coaster. As a tyke, my family vacationed at Magic Kingdom the year Space Mountain opened. A lot of people in line did not know it was a coaster, they figured it was a typical Disney attraction. After a 2 1/2 hour wait (yes 2 1/2 hours) many people were turned away for being to small/young. There was no sign at the entrance with minimum height or even to say it was roller coaster with extreme forces, blah, blah blah..... Of course there was no sign listing the anticipated wait time either. My dad's friend, who had two daugthers that were too small to ride, filed a complaint at city hall and there was a sign posted when me and my dad went back for a late night ride.

Random feeling after Theme Park visit...
larrygator replied to Phixion's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OK Einstein, tell your mother what this guy experienced and see what a real doctor says. Everybody's body changes over time, what he is experiencing could be the harbinger of something bigger or it could be nothing. Even if this guy never goes to another amusement park ever again his knowing if he has a condition now might help him lead a healthier life. Your mum might be a doctor but you are 13 and have a Jim Henson creation in your avatar. You are far from being a doctor. -

Heart palpitations and trouble breathing when you never experienced it before demand a consultation with a doctor not fellow TPRers -
Dave - You are very brave for a deadman. I was afraid to even look for the restrooms there and held it in until we got back to the hotel. Speaking of Coney's, Astroland's restrooms are crap. You are better off using the restroom at Nathan's, or getting a drink at a dive bar on the boardwalk and using their facility, but that can be a crapshoot, also.

^I almost "Barryed" my pants on X-Scream atop Stratosphere. I have to try Insanity when I get back to Vegas. -
I think we do need this topic. and Beech Bend is the worst overall for a park but the Super Loo at Drayton is the worst individual restroom.

Crowds Superbowl Weekend????

^sort of like the phenomena of going to parks on Holiday Mondays (Labor Day, Fourth of July) when others go the to beach or are stuffing their faces eating at picnics and parties. -

^I don't think Universal would be crowded on the day of the game just based on the fact that half the country is watching the game. -

Question about Impulse Coasters

^they used to do that a lot with Chiller at SFGAdv. The dispatching ride ops on Chiller used to interact a lot more with the riders. I know it gets corny after awhile but does make for a more enjoyable day at the park. -

What coasters do you want to ride?
larrygator replied to CoasterCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^why are you getting on the kid's case for bumping an old thread that still has relevance? The guy is following the rules versus creating rendundant threads without searching first. I'd rather see this thread bumped than one more page of x-Flights posts. -
