Well Expedition Ge Force blew S:ROS NE away in head-to-head and only lost to Black Mamba and Superman (in Australia) if I'm reading the head-to-head chart correctly. 3 people rode both Superman (Australia) and Expedition Ge Force and two of the three said Superman was better. So in essence one vote enabled S:ROS @SFNE to win

OK, LOST is almost back. well at least close enough for me to be re-energized about it

planning trip to florida which are best coasters parks
larrygator replied to belou2006's topic in Ask Alvey
good point Brent, but you have to remember he said he is most interested in "coaster parks", so he is not going to skip BG or IOA. He only has a total of five days at parks, and you really need that much time just for Disney if you haven't been before. -
but Robb had it coming to him

My take: Psyclone is done; which is wonderful. It sucked big time. And can people stop calling woodies which the same design clones. Too many factors go into wooden coasters (weather, wear and tear, upkeep) to ever have a true wooden clone. Whoever said GCI should retrack Psyclone (or any coaster) and put Millennium Flyers on it. Don't hold your breathe on it ever happening. At Rumblefest, the folks at GCI said Millennium Flyers will only go on GCI built coasters. PERIOD. Flashback - How could anyone seriously but upset that it is leaving SFMM? It hasn't been open in 4 years. Get real people, if they left it SBNO for another 50 years you (and me) still wouldn't get that credit. On SFMM becoming more family friendly, they could put whatever section they want in there but until they get rid of the riff raff, families will not go there in droves if they don't feel safe. On Cedar Point's view - I'm sure they will be happy to include "most coasters" on their paraphernalia, but they know that doesn't hold any substantial value to them. With Flashback SBNO it was all a facade anyway. However, I wouldn't expect them to immediately rip out Mean Streak for an Intamin, maybe 5 years from now when Mean Streak is 20 years old. It costs $7.5 Million to build and I believe capital expense are amoritized over 20 years with Cedar Point. Then again, I was not very good in accounting class.

^what is the price of their haunted house and is their a special price for the haunted house and the coaster combo?

Chuck - that seems to be a difference between Six Flags and Cedar Fair. It appears that CF makes each park a profit center and the individual managers accountable for turning a profit at each park, but I'm not so sure that is the case at SF over the years. However, due to the autonomous of the parks the inter-park communication is not always standardized and ideal. That is the one thing that bugs me the most about CF; more than: all the garbage pails, neutering of woodies, killing the character of historic parks, etc... However, as a greedy Cedar Fair shareholder I take the bad with the good.

When I went to four different CF parks in 2005 with my Dorney Pass I encountered a different tactic at each park: Geauga Lake - scanned my pass CP - Had to sign in at the gate MiA - Had to get a ticket from Guest Relations VF - Went to guest relations and they just pointed at the back door and told me to walk through

I not so sure SFMM is the biggest revenue generator in the chain. SFGAdv is always packed and charges twice as much for season passes. SFGAdv Flash Passes sell out on a regular basis and a vast majority of that Flash Pass income is pure profit. SFMM might be open more days and have a lot more guests but many are repeat customers on season passes that are too cheap for the companies own good. I still can't believe SF had not considerably raised the season pass price for SFMM. That would make it a true cash cow.

My numbers are completely made up, but I want to try to explain debt and how it works to some of the our audience. Finance is confusing and I don't profess to be an expert, but let me try to help. If SF has $2,000,000,000 (2 billion) of debt, their interest payments might be $200,000,000 per year. If the earnings that SF uses to pay down the debt each year amounts to $175,000,000 their debt is going to keep growing by $25,000,000 per year, plus interest. Using $350,000,000 from the sale of 7 parks to bring down debt to $1,650,000,000 (1.65 billion) may allow SF the renegotiate interest rates and bring yearly interest down to $150,000.000 per year. Applying $300,000,000 each year to the debt (assuming same revenue and less capital expenditures) allows for a $150,000,000 reduction in debt each year. Hope that helps somebody out.

JOE - when did you get an oven. I may have to prepare my amazing spicy chicken sandwiches on your grill as payback for taking me to Wild Adventures. -
I should have bought 100 shares instead of 50 when the stock dipped to $80 two weeks ago

Great story, so my college roommate Mike has had this bet going for the past 7 years or so. He bet this an anti-Gator, Scott, that the Gators would win the NCAA basketball and football title in the same year. The stakes: Mike would put up one case of beer a year versus the payout of free beer for life for Mike if the Gators could pull it off. Mike has dutifully paid his case every year until now.

Erik - I can't beleive how well it it going. I knew Leak had it in him but it he made it look easy in the first 3 possessions. Luckily there haven't been too many stupid penalties by UF that cost them. What a shock! - JEWY the hater has not been in Chat tonight. GO USC!

Cedar Point - Hotel Questions
larrygator replied to eyeamthu1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wally - I used those share holder coupons in 2005, also. Did Cedar Fair send you those hotel coupons last year? I only got a $100 off certificate for Castaway Bay in 2006. -
My Old English Teacher Gets Arrested!

Bond - Is the amount of money your family/friends need to raise to get you out of jail before you have your court appearance. Also known as raising bail. If you do not show up in court the money is forfeited and bail jumping is another crime on your record.
