I have no idea. What does that mean? I'd say that half of your typical coaster enthusiasts are at least somewhat overweight. It's also scary to go to an American park and see all the people 400lbs or more and eating at the buffet!

^ I'm down about 2 or 3 pants sizes. lol B&M inverts aren't very forgiving if you're overweight. Thanx a lot skinny Swiss people!!!

If I hadn't gone back for a 2nd trip in August I might have come, but I decided to skip it this year. I also hate Atlanta traffic. -

Hey guys... I don't know why I never posted this over here, but thought I would since I have some friends here as well. For those that didn't know I have been in the process of trying to lose about 80lbs (altogether). I've currently lost almost 40 and I feel so much better! I won't go into everything here, but I did start a journal over on TN last year when I started out. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=33172&highlight=quest Basically one of the breaking points for me was when I almost wasn't able to ride Top Gun (Carowinds). They had too smash me into the thing (with 2 people pushing down too). Now I can get the seatbelt locked all by myself!!! By spring I should be down about 3 or 4 clicks. Anyway...just wanted to let some of my friends know. I know there was some concern, but as guys usually don't talk about personal things like women do (no offense) guys usually don't ask. But anyway...my top weight was somewhere around 300+. I'm down probably 40 or maybe a few more ( haven't weighed this week ). My family history is bad too. One grandfather died of cancer and the other a heart attack. Not good. If any of you (especially the younger ones) ever think about getting lazy and gaining weight...don't. It's no fun. Trust me.

Oh, so you can make fun of Canadians, but I can't make fun of West Virginia? -
I live about 30-40 minutes from downtown Charlotte where I work. I drive about 4 miles to the bus stop and park my car and ride the Express Bus in. They are really nice coaches, not like normal city buses. For the size city Charlotte is, we have a very nice transit system and it's still being improved. We will have light rail running pretty soon as well to the south side of town and eventually east and north.

http://travel.webshots.com/album/550950617liCdrg Those are mine from back in May. Night rides are DARK! No lights at all. It's dark except for around the anti-rollback (I'm 99% sure it's not a MCBR, but actually just an anti-rollback, it never slowed us at all over my 10 rides) before you hit the tripple-down tunnel. And put it this way...it knocked Thunderhead out of #1 wood for me before it even hit the turnaround or the first 90 degree turn!

CUTE! Do they give you the buttons that say "1st visit" or do you have to buy them? I didn't get one in 1977. So much for the "good ol' days". -

I feel your pain. The only way they got me into Mr. Freeze @ St. Louis was to do that. I was in serious pain the whole ride. But the ride was great. I hope I'll have lost another 20lbs+ by the time next summer hits. I've lost 10 more since C3 (for a total of almost 40)! Hey what gives? An ACEr that LOST weight? -

Mine was very good (for me and my budget). Carowinds (multiple times, home park) SFOG (April, August) Beech Bend (May) Holiday World (May) SFStl (May) Dollywood (May) Pedroland (July) does it count since nothing works? Camden Park (July) Myrtle Beach Pavilion, Grand Prix and Family Kingdom (Sept) Cabarrus County Fair (Sept) SC State Fair (Oct) Next year I'm planning on hitting up CP (no credit), GL (credit), Kennywood (credit)and some of those smaller PA parks. My ride count is at 130 right now and I hope to add about 40 or 50 next year to that. -
Awesome pics! And I thought I took a lot of pictures. Can't wait for my MAXXimum Exposure trip in June! Haven't been back since 02. At the rate of weight loss I'm doing I should be able to fit in Millie again. lol

I rode the cork at Myrtle Beach, Cedar Point, BGA and Opryland. None of which I'll cry over. In fact I think CP's is the worst of the bunch and needs to be ripped out now! After this was taken you either: A) Turned into the Hulk B) Were riding an Arrow C) All of the above I think it was probably C Thanks for taking the pics, I won't miss the coaster since it was prettier to look at than ride, but still a nice farewell. -
When I got mine at Carowinds they said that they will be good any time in 2007. I think that because of the merger that they really didn't have time to make up plastics for all the parks, so they made up temporary ones. From my understanding you'll just go up to a ticket booth next year and they'll switch it out for you. Also...I'm glad that Carowinds learned from their mistake on trying to copy Disney with the finger scan thingy. It didn't work half the time, so now they just have your picture pop up when it is scanned. Although half the people don't even check to see that it's you.

I can't really see Dollywood putting another woody in anytime soon, but that's just me. My thoughts are that they will eventually close the loop between Thunderhead Gap (or whatever they are calling it these days) and the Mountain Slidewinder area. Dolly has pledge $100 MM in the next 10 years, they are going to be doing some major expansion with that amount of money. But myster mine is $17MM I think.

Wes 2.0 does the Charlotte Bobcats Weekend!
bgwfreak replied to bgwfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ok so here is the other batch of pics. Monday I was walking outside and found the Bobcats folks there giving out tickets to the "Fan jam" that night. Basically the organization is trying to get more support for the team because they have been doing so poorly (attedance and playing). So I head back into the city after work on the local bus, because I frankly didn't want to pay $10 for parking for a free event. By the time I got back downtown, after running home and changing clothes it was mostly over. But I did get some fun shots... So Charlotte just got a brand spanking new arena when we got the Bobcats.... does the guy with the arrow remind anyone of Dan? How ya doing Dan? we are still fighting the Civil War. Oh wait... In the South... The arena is very nice looking though. Product placement alert! Ever wonder how they get those amazing shots from overhead? Now ya know! Just in case you forgot which team Charlotte has. See! No security. Yo! It's me getting a perfectly legal shot on the floor...without security escorting me off or anything! So they let the fans go down on the floor and actually take a shot. I had forgotten how high the boards really are off the concrete. It's like 2 feet deep (the whole basketball floor). Don't hate! We have the biggest scoreboard in the NBA (for now)! As opposed to what...the un-official store of the fans? And finally here are my totally useless tickets. By the time I got there they weren't even taking tickets. lol Thanks for reading. Uh...sir...someone forgot to finish that part of the arena! We also like pigs in the South. -

Maybe, but you have to admit that the color fits us perfectly...construction barrell orange. Actually Bobcats makes perfect sense to me. There are bobcats up in the NC mountains. And it's cool that our two high-profile teams are both cats and also our transit system is called CATS (Charlotte Area Transit System)(now that I think of it, that sounds like some bad 80's kids show). lol I'll get the 2nd set of pics up soon... -

It closed in September. I walked by there and the placed is completely closed up so that you can't see inside at all. The signs are still there and nothing looks to have been done yet.
