SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hope Springs Eternal. And P.S.... Jeff? I know this is old crap, to wander through again. But these are in-home times, and some "squirrely-ness" turns into thread jumping, finding anything "new" to go through. And comment about. Again. Been there, many times. Such is life, right now. Back then. Thank you to whoever took this photo. -
^^^ They're all so beautiful, including Mom! Makes me wish we had a mother cat again, tending to her brood. Playland(PNE) has just pushed back their opening date to July 1, our Canada Day. And they've also posted a Playland COLORING PAGE for everyone to work on and enjoy, in these stay-at-home times we're now in. http://www.pne.ca/playland/ P.S. I'm not checking all of them, but are any other park sites doing this? Offering coloring pages to work on, at home? Maybe some of them should, hmm? P.P.S. By the way, anybody(s) who colors this page - please post your results, here! It would/will be great to see so many colors used, by everybody (around the world?)! And FINALLY: How about printing several of them, and have an In-Home Coloring Contest??? Of course, EVERYBODY will WIN and it'll be Ice Cream for Everybody!!!! Part of the Coloring Page. Showing part of our new Sea-To-Sky Swinger ride. What the Sea-To-Sky really looks like. Photo taken past summer, it's Opening Season.

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ Geez, my Season Pass will be worth only a month and a bit, by the time the PNE opens (last two weeks August) and nullifies it. Also, on turning 67 next Monday , my new challenge was to ride Coaster at least 67 times during this season. Last year, I successfully rode it over 70 times, to 'win'. Hmmm. May have to alter that plan, just a tidge. The PNE site also added a Playland Colouring/Coloring Page for kids (and with their parents) and everyone to work on, while at home, staying safe. http://www.pne.ca/playland/ Part of the Colouring/Coloring Page. The whole page is available at the PNE website. -

Awesome Positive News! In our downtown West End, where a lot of people live, everybody is coming out of their homes every evening, at 7pm PST, usually on balconies and starting ....to APPLAUD. For a few minutes. It is for all the people who have to stay "out there" for medical and services needs. Even for groceries and pharmacy, too. So The APPLAUSE is For Them. And it's starting to grow here. It's being picked up where we live, and the thrill of hearing the applause waft through the entire main city.... it's very cool to hear. I dare to add...it sounds kind of like, when Canada won Hockey Gold at the 2010 Olympics! Truth!

From the "While We're Taking Care of Ourselves And Each Other, Dept..." Here. A retro overhead view of Playland during a decades old PNE. See how many flat rides you can figure out and list here? No prize. Just instant satisfaction and gratification. (You can enlarge it, to see better. Bon Chance!) This is Playland during the 1977 PNE. Photo from Vancouver Archives. -

Great take on your EPCOT Day! I love that place, too. Always been my fave, of all the Parks in WDW. Looking forward to your time spent in "The Kingdom of Magic Kingdoms"! -
Terrance McNally was a shock to find out about. His book on the musical "Kiss of The Spider Woman" was amazing, considering the outcome of the piece. It's like the musical "Titanic" .... you know how it'll end, but the live experience is still worth the price of admission, etc. And that musical won the TONY for Best Musical, as did "Spider Woman." Along with a Best Book Win by Terrance. And before that, he wrote "Love! Valor! Compassion!" one of his best plays, ever. Starring a wonderful Nathan Lane, and equaled pretty good in the film, with Jason Alexander in the same part. Lots he wrote. Go look him up, those who don't know him.

Listening to the VERY UNDERESTIMATED Track #7 of Frozen 2... "Show Yourself," that honestly should have been the Oscar Nominee over "Into The Unknown". Gorgeous orchestrations. Epic. And whatta singer Idina Menzel still is, by this time, in the plot.

And on another note..... I want to send my and support out to NEW YORK CITY, who back in the past, weathered one of the most awful events in our history....9/11. Again, they are being tested, but in a most different kind of way, medically. Here's to them, and all the CAREGIVERS and MEDICAL WORKERS and POLICE STAFF, Customer Services Staff (Around The World)* who are on the jobs still, helping those of us who need that help and support. You are loved and appreciated so much. Thank you. * (Who also love roller coasters and theme parks)

Although the ride vehicles aren't full of riders, this is an amazing 360' video of the Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway attraction in DHS. The best thing about this video is, you can place the POV at the back, so you're going backwards. But you also get to see how a few of the scene changes occur, and what happens while you're "facing forward." Very cool to watch IMhO. (Video is from ATTRACTIONS Magazine, thanks.) (Sorry, I really don't know how to condense this into a much shorter link. Dumb bear, I am.) When you start the video, just turn the "camera" to the back of your car. And enjoy the unusual view.

^ You really like eggs on your burgers, don't you? Just noticing. Still looks awesome!

^ Great thing to do! And your clock looks awesome! However, I have none of those skills, lol. Ah well. Life. Just heard on the radio, that one of our Maritime Provinces, is banning groups of people from gathering outdoors, that 'number' larger than 5. EDIT: So what does a baby or babies, count as? = 1/2 person? 1/4 person? LoL.

^ We ate it up. And I forgot to take finished photos. It was good.
