Chuck's TPR Shameless Nostalgia Trip Thread
Nrthwnd replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ah Chuck, good wet memories of Splash Bandit, I remember. And Diavlo was a-ma-zing! Got a solo ride on that, just before we left the park. This is a great "Quikie Tour" of that past tour...very well done. I wish that Tivoli-style park was still around. It was small, but with great landscaping, and a few unique rides. And of course...KT's Very First Coaster. Looking forward to more. I did wonder what happened, AFTER you guys water blasted me and Brian, hah. That's my arm sticking out there, in the front car. -
^^ That's nothing. Last week, we got take out from our fave Thai restaurant. Cost us nearly $50 (cdn). For two. It was excellent as usual, though.

"Call Me, Maybe" Carly Rae Jepsen I remember riding a Tagada in China (2012) when this was playing, on the ride's speakers!

^ Glad you re-posted it! When I've looked at some of the interviews of performers in New York (most all thru Broadway.com), a lot of them look so forlorn, and really wanting/NEEDING that Live Audience connection! But the majority of them are coping, and it's also fun to see them "out of (any stage) character" and hopefully, comfy with how they're dealing with It.

In the Theme Parks thread. Here. https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77341 And honestly, I think more people need to see all of what the Broadway Community is doing during this time. Some really imaginative, and a lot of times totally outrageous, online stuff!

@HKDL_of_Fantasy just posted a fly over video of the park with shots of the construction areas for The Castle, Marvel, and Arendelle:Land of Frozen. Here's a still from the video, above the Arendelle construction. And a link to the video. https://t.co/79aQ43eVXB?amp=1 Thank you HKDL_of_Fantasy! "Frozen Ever After" flume ride at the top. "Sliding Sleighs" Coaster at the bottom of the photo. And it looks there will be another entry (the main entry?) beside the train station (pink roof), under the tracks, to it. The other two entrys are from Toy Story Land and Small World Plaza.

^ LOL! You should put this in the Co-vid 19 Thread! I've been trying to put some humor in that thread, and it's been hit or miss. This should definitely be there.

What videos would you like to see?
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The boat jumpers from Sea Paradise Park in Japan, please? Also, any Japan coaster videos that have "exercising & stretching" in the station(s), before boarding the train(s). They're fun to see. And a suggestion: Link all the exercise bits together and put Olivia Newton John's "Physical" as the soundtrack to it... Or maybe a Japanese version of "Physical"! -
Great tour of Toverland! So much, in several years, added to that park. Thanks for sharing it all. And that Merlin's Plate looked great. It looks like it would definitely be enough for myself, with all that bread. And of course................ "TROY!" (I rode it nearly 10 times, when TPR was there in 2008)

^ I found it Andrew. Go to the EXPLORE sign on Knott's site, and Online Marketplace will show up far right, bottom of CONNECT list. And here's the link: https://marketplace.knotts.com/?_ga=2.226607454.276761297.1494936970-1631816158.1494853987 And if you go to "Product Finder" on that page, you'll get two pages of their products!

Playland/PNE (Vancouver) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Nrthwnd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Three Posters of Playland's Publicity Past!" Here's some more of the past publicity that's been offered, to advertise a season at Playland. The first one was on several of the busses in our city. Pretty easy to understand, heh. It's actually part of several more posters I actually got most of. Usually, I am lucky if I photograph one or two every year. This came out during the 2016 season. The other (5) posters in the series, I'll put up later. The next one was put out in 2015, the year that The Beast opened. And I have to gush, that this is still The Only XXL I know of, that has seats facing inwards AND facing out! In North America, at least. The other poster I know of had the Wac-A-Mole "moles" looking up, with the same faces as the kiddy car, here. The last one is from 2014, and is actually all four posters, side by side, in the garden area of Coaster. This is also the group of posters that spent the least time...up. Apparently, people were complaining about that last poster, on the right. Look and decide for your self. Do you want to "Lose Control" that way? Whatever the case, they stayed up less than one month, and were gone for the rest of the summer. Life. Which way do you want to "Lose Control" at Playland? EDIT TO ADD: Still didn't find the Wac-A-Mole poster, but I did find this other one. Poor KC! -

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

^ omg - wow - omg - wow - it brought back so many memories of the 90 minute production I saw, back in 2011. And over 44,00 people watched it! Cool. When I saw the performance space , it all came rushing back to me, how awesome just the theatre looked. So arena-like, and cavernous. I loved it. Hope all of you who saw it, did too. -

I put this in the Cirque du Soleil thread, but I felt it deserves to be seen here, too. Cirque is going to stream, in under 15 minutes, a one hour special based on the sadly departed (and awesome ~ I saw it in 2011 before it closed) production of ZED! Starts at 8-EST...5-PST. Here's the link to it: https://youtu.be/3zuBpFgxDCI (Over 22,000 people are waiting for it to start! And me, lol. And counting...) My souvenirs from ZED, when I saw it in 2011 at TDLR. ...and I have the wonderful ZED soundtrack, too. The home that Cirque/TDLR built, for ZED. TPR 2011 Japan Tour.
