  1. ^^ Great overview video of the area! And it looks (looked?) like there is so much more to be done, down there. I'm hoping they are still able to keep up with a 2016 opening..... "politics aside".
  2. Well, I went on The Beast this past weekend, chose the inside facing seat.... And lo and behold, it was great! Still intense, but not as gut clenching as facing the outside. And it was a no-brainer getting me secure in the seat as well! I still wasn't The Only One who felt very queasy after getting off of it. Many others, a few even in their teens, were saying after getting off, they didn't know when they'd ride it again. So that accomplished, here's some photos taken over the weekend, at the park... (Oh, and Crazy Beach Party still is not spinning! I mean wtf?) Shot from the Wheel. The little choo-choo train for the kids. Wish they would change all the metal fencing around most of the rides, into something more...pleasant looking? And of course - always/usually a great view of the mountains on the North Shore. Looking towards downtown Vancouver. Enterprise doing it's thing. AtmosFEAR shot. After The Beast ride, I headed over to the Sky Wheel for some aerial shots. The only spot at Playland you can find Coke Freestyle. Such a small thin little machine. Wheee! Scrambler re-located. Pretty bland looking now. All that asphalt... After my first ride on Coaster, I headed over to The Beast and rode it immediately, lest I have second thoughts about riding it at - all. (o; After leaving the park, I took this shot while heading to my car. And I really didn't notice till now, but Playland flies both the Canadian and the American flags over it's entrance. Country Friendship! (o:
  3. I like the effect of the waterfall only being seen by the riders, and not the gp outside it. Except outside the park. Pretty hard to pull something like that off, in daylight, nowadays with any coaster. I like it.
  4. Late June, 2014. Falken at Farup Sommerland It felt much smoother five years ago, and that was in the pouring rain! It's either me getting older, it getting rougher... or a mix of both, lol. Now, when was the last time you sneezed unexpectedly in public? Rougher than five years before, but that's how I felt this ride was, this time round. (TPR 2014 Scandi Tour)
  5. It's a Win Win WIN for the guests!
  6. ^ From what I can make out, the woman on the other side of the float there, also has a selfie stick attached to a camera. But SMART WOMAN that she is, since she's in front of her side too, why use the stick? So, it's over her shoulder while she's actually holding on to her camera. Good for her. She's earned a Free Churro from me!
  7. Also I might as well add - if I had my choice of hotels on the Resort property, I would definitely go with the Tokyo Bay Hilton. In 2011, something happened to my camera and I had to go back to the room. I started at the back of Disney Sea (by Indy Jones/Crystal Skull), got the monorail to Bayside Station, waited for the next bus that comes by every five minutes, and saves extra walking, if just to the hotel. Got to the room, fixed the camera, sat several minutes for a rest, headed back and got into Disney Sea.....45 minutes later! And get the breakfast buffet for your stay, too! It's extra $ per day but so worth it. Amazing set up and spread, for local and non-local tastes. And you get a great energy start to your day, too. And... one more thing. Although Miguel's El Dorado Cantina place was "okay" for myself (food not that great to me), there is another place to try on the other side of the bridge from the Cantina. That being the Yucatan Base Camp Grill. They served awesome BBQ etc. when we were last there, in 2013. The menu might have changed, but still worth a look-see. And nice cold beer, too! (o: (TPR 2013 Japan Tour)
  8. ^^ I noticed the kid could care less about looking at the camera. He's there for the ride! Unlike the one holding the stick. Gotta get that shot whatever the (possible dangerous) cost, hmmm?
  9. ^ Yes, and I remember on my first visit there, TPR 2007 Japan Tour, me, Peter and Mike also enjoyed the curry dishes at the Casbah Food Court... Peter and myself are obviously overwhelmed with our curry choice. And I got a keepsake drinking cup!
  10. Your first four photos of the coaster are great! It almost looks like you "bent" the image and/or photo shopped them. Great pix, man! And the second one, I like the best. Total twisty-ness, lol!
  11. ^ To add to the above^^ We found the Casbah Food Court in Disney Sea had an awesome beef curry. So much so, one order at the time wasn't enough (we split some orders, saving a few Yen here and there). We went back another night and both ordered the beef curry, with extra naan bread. Awesome stuff. In Arabian Coast, to the left of the Magic Lamp Theater. Counter service with great curry! Our second visit there. Yummy. (TPR 2013 Japan Tour)
  12. No - unless you count a can of apple lager beer Do you enjoy swimming?
  13. After all these years...I've found Princess Leia! (o;
  14. ^ Cool! It makes it soooo much easier to remember which one was which country, lol. I really forget the park in China - but this was #500.
  15. ^ I want - to tour - the steakhouses. Some of the menus are pretty nice for the price.
  16. It's TONY Awards Weekend in New York City! On Sunday, 8pm Eastern (Delayed PST) on CBS Hosted by Kristen Chenoweth and Alan Cumming! The avatar is from two years ago, when Neil Patrick Harris hosted, before he did HEDWIG on Broadway. And won a TONY. Big production number and he ends up hanging from a GI-normous TONY Award,. Great opening number.
  17. It's sad when you think that in order to get major action from the park, some times something major has to take place, usually a fight, possibly dangerous. But that's what's more valid than line cutting. Nowadays... IMhO
  18. Happy TONY Awards Weekend, everybody! The Big Show is on Sunday!
  19. 2007 - when I thought somebody's brother...was his lover. When was the last time you had a vegetarian meal?
  20. ^ Mucho Congrats Mikey! For the occasion. (o; And it's freekin' cotton candy!
  21. ^ Hey, it's all good. And listen - when I started actually counting coasters, I was 53 and not even at 100 yet! Now of course, I've gotten "a bit better", thanks to all the awesome TPR Tours (all overseas) I've been on. Good times - my #100 - at age 53 - in Wales. Back in 2006 on the very first TPR UK Tour. (o:
  22. Just BUMPing this, as I realized, each milestone coaster I've achieved, each one was in a different country! #100 - Wales - Oakwood - Speed 200 - Japan - Kijimi - Mine Train 300 - Germany - Movie Park - Backyardigans Mission To Mars (whew!) 400 - England - Alton Towers - 13 500 - China - Forget the Park - a Mine Train 600 - Mexico - Six Flags - Medusa Has anyone else had this happen? I didn't plan it at all. It's just how things turned out, randomly. And for the record, I am kind of hoping my #700 Coaster will be in the USA. Maybe next year, perhaps? My #600 - Medusa, at SFMexico. (And no, that is not spelling G-O-D. Just a visual.....thing.)
