  1. I agree completely and those three are my favorite three coasters right now. I got to ride all three of them in the last few weeks. Best three weeks ever Skyrush in the back on the left.... oh man. A few times I saved a little space under my lapbar and that first drop was literally terrifying! I had my arms up but my instinct was to grab back on when that thing tried to throw me out. Also, the lateral airtime that throws you to the left, when you're in the back left. Terrifying in such an awesome, messed-up way Also, shout-out to Phoenix in the back row.
  2. Have you been on all of the RMC coasters? or is WC just your favorite of the ones you have been on? I've only been on 3, but Wicked Cyclone is my favorite by far. My friend has been on almost all of them (I think all except Medusa and possibly Goliath) and says Wicked Cyclone is his favorite by far and also #2 fave steel coaster. Joker reminds me a bit of Wicked Cyclone, so I'm really excited to compare the two once this opens. I'll be super pumped if ours blows theirs away, because Cyclone blew me away so much.
  3. We were there on Saturday and had NO IDEA it would be that busy! We would have arrived at the park way earlier if we had known. Some of the GP we talked to were shocked as well. This was our first time at the park and I have to say... it completely blew away our already high expectations! It was just FUN. None of the rides we did weren't fun. The pizza was really good and inexpensive, the ride operators were really quick and efficient, employees really nice, park had a lot to do (we felt like we didn't even scratch the surface!), very well maintained and friendly atmosphere. What we were able to do: Black Diamond Haunted Mansion (got some good scares out of me ) Phoenix x2 Twister Weird twirly ride by the kiddie coaster Bumper cars (definitely blew away any other bumper car I've ever done!) Flyers x3 (I've never been the best at snapping, but these ones were AWESOME and I was able to get the technique down a lot easier and get some great snaps!) Cesari's Fascination (just a few quick games, I can see how people spend so much time and money on this addictive game!) Indoor spinning rave ride Unfortunately, Impulse just had way too long of a line and we passed it up for more rides on other things. We were going to ride Flying Turns (and heard they were keeping the line open until 7:15) but when we went over there at 7:10, we learned they had cut off the line for some coaster enthusiast group. Does anyone know which group this was? It was awesome that Knoebel's stayed open later so we could do as much as we did! We got in our last ride (the indoor ride) around 7:30. Also, apparently some people rented out the flyers for two hours after that for their 25th anniversary. Relationship goals right there I definitely can't wait to get back to this park!
  4. Coaster hungover from yesterday, but this song perked me up: medoman/David's and my first time at this park, I'm super pumped! I may or may not wear a Skyrush shirt today....
  5. This article that my friend shared with me on Facebook asking if I knew any of these coasters.
  6. We were stopped about halfway up on Zumanjaro on our first ride ever of it. We were up there a good 5 minutes or longer (hard to tell when you're up there), and then they dropped us without warning one by one starting with the far right. We were on the far left chatting it up when the first one dropped, then the middle, and we knew we were next. After we got off, there was a guy PISSED yelling at the ride ops because they didn't warn us. I'm not sure if there are even speakers up there but he sure was making threats!
  7. I'm definitely gonna go ride this coaster this year! I'm going to grad school about an hour away.
  8. A veggie burger, last Monday at Six Flags New England. A real burger? Probably circa 2007, before I went vegetarian. When was the last time you were injured?
  9. I'll be at the park this Friday and Saturday for my first time ever! Friday I will go alone and Saturday I have someone joining me, then we plan to go to Knoebels on Sunday. If anyone wants to hang out on Friday, message me! I plan to hit Fahrenheit, then probably Laff Track and then Skyrush (whatever my third coaster of the day is will be my #150, so it would be awesome if that coaster was Skyrush )
  10. Most notable one recently was last Saturday, I pre-booked a hotel I thought was near SFGAdv and didn't write down the address. We drove all the way from NYC to the park and then tried to look for the hotel. Got the phone number and found out it was actually a good hour back the way we came. Had to book a different hotel in the area which was priced WAY higher because it was the night of and like 1 am by then, and I still had to pay for the other hotel we walked out on. When was the last time you cooked a meal for more than just yourself and/or a significant other?
  11. Thank you for the pictures! That lead car looks amazing!
  12. By the way, we visited on Sunday (I'll eventually post about it in a bigger TR), and we drank some of the Skull Mountain back row kool-aid and are ready to sign our souls away to the cult.
  13. Yes! Do you eat breakfast every day?
  14. Sorry, I said the wrong one. We rode Batman, we didn't ride Gotham City Mouthful Name Wild Mouse. Batman floorless coaster wasn't particularly rough or smooth to me and wasn't so amazing that I wanted to ride it again. I'm a little spoiled by that K-ride you mention because I got to ride it all summer.
  15. No. Do you like anime?
  16. We were there on Monday and Tuesday. Monday didn't start out too bad, but by the afternoon it was pretty busy. The food lines were the WORST, especially waiting out in the sun. We skipped Batman, Pandemonium, and Catwoman because the lines looked way too long and not worth the credit. We only rode Flashback and Mind Eraser because the lines were short at the time and my friend liked both those rides at SFDK. However, Mind Eraser was MUCH worse than our SLC (Kong). I actually occasionally have good rides on Kong, but even in the front, I couldn't wait for Mind Eraser to be over. One and done. I really enjoyed Goliath and thought the current trains were much better than the ones they used to have when it was Deja Vu the last time I rode it. I had been on Superman in 2009 and was a little underwhelmed by it. I thought maybe I just didn't get a good ride and gave it two more chances (in the back) on Monday. While it is a great ride and much more exciting than B&M hypers, I still would not rank it "best in the world" or even in my top 5. Wicked Cyclone..... OMG, what can I even say? It completely blew me away!! I knew it was going to be great but I had no idea it was THAT great. It's my third RMC (Goliath and Twisted Colossus the other two) and DEFINITELY the best of the three! We got really lucky and our first three rides ended up being two in the back and one in the front, the back by far my favorite. The airtime on this ride is amazing with a few OMFG moments as well as the smooth, flawless inversions I have come to love from RMC. We rode it 6 times on Monday and then returned on Tuesday for 10 more rides, the first 9 of those with no more than a one or two train wait. My only disappointment with it is that the orange train wasn't triggering the camera at the right time, and 12 of my 16 total rides were on that train. Despite having a photo pass, I didn't get photos from any of those rides. One of our 4 times on the blue train the camera wasn't triggered, so out of 16 rides, we were only able to get three on-ride photos (which I will post when I do a full TR of my trip).
  17. Yesterday, sitting on the brake run of Wicked Cyclone, I overheard two guys in front of me talking about Cyclone. "Whatever happened to Cyclone?" "They probably relocated it." I can't even. Then one of them said there were no more wooden coasters at the park, and the other guy said, "Isn't Thunderbolt still here?" It's perfectly visible on the walk to WC, as well as from where we were on the brake run.
  18. If it's anything like the double-down on Wicked Cyclone, it might be responsible for the demise of my future marriage But seriously, after riding Wicked Cyclone this weekend, I am SO MUCH MORE EXCITED for this coaster! That ride was unbelievable and this one looks like it will be as well!
  19. We're about to head to the park. If anyone else is there today, look for the girl with red shoes, coaster tattoo, and gray college sweatshirt.
  20. No because it's Kingda Ka and you're banking on it's ability to operate reliably all day if you wait that long. Don't ever do that. If I were you I'd go there right at opening and WAIT FOR ROW ONE. It will have a longer line and it's worth it, especially if someone has never ridden it before. The front row line when full only adds about 20 minutes and it probably won't be full right at open. Every other row sucks. Do you think it'll be open right at opening? Last time I was there the park was chilly in the morning and Ka didn't open for several hours. I'm going on Sunday with someone who also hasn't been to SFGAdv.
  21. I literally said "What about the lead car?" just before the video said "Do you notice what's missing?" The rest of the train looks amazing, though! Great to see this video! Things are coming along, but I'm still waiting for the track to be finished!
  22. You ever couldn't sleep because you were too excited about an upcoming park or ride you're visiting.
