No Are you registered as either Republican or Democrat? (vs. 3rd party or nonpartisan or not registered to vote)

Yes! And I got to lead campers on a trail ride once too. Has the power gone out at your house this year?
-
Yes Do you play Pokemon GO?

I rode it some time last fall but it definitely hasn't been open this year. I noticed them doing more work on it this week but there are still a lot of train pieces lying around. Also, you'd think guests at SFDK would know not to pull the lap bar down since they've had the rule at Superman for a long time. The ride op at Joker literally got everyone to look at him while we were waiting for the train to come back and he told us the rule, and apparently people were still not doing it right. Superman seemed to get better after the first year of that rule so hopefully people learn for Joker as well.

Just wanted to note it was still running only green train yesterday and had 20-40 min waits all through the afternoon. The crew was hauling, but the line still moved slow. More strict seating assignments, you can ask for a row that isn't already filled but you can't wait for any. They're also getting better at calling up single riders and matching them. Also, they're making a big point to tell people not to pull down the lap bats early and people are still doing it. I was really impressed with how fast the employees were moving, they all know they have something special with this one and it's important to get as many people on it as possible.

No, but there are 3 cats! Have you been sunburned this week?

Thanks your your analysis. I would agree with this except as you said, it runs differently at different times and I have had a few rides where it was hauling the entire course (and less screechy/rattly on these banks too). My last few rides it slowed down a lot in the banked turns but I hope it grows out of it soon.

So mini trip report. My friend and I hadn't been back to CGA to ride anything since like 2013, so we were interested to see how things had aged and check out Mass Effect. And most importantly.... Process my first ever Platinum Pass!! We arrived at the park late and left late but the park was absolutely dead. Gold Striker was closed when we got there, but it opened later so we were happy. Speaking of Mass Effect (spoilers?) I wanted to hate this ride, but I was pleasantly surprised. The live actor was really great, there were water effects, smells, smoke, and weird leg tickles and butt bumps that actually startled us, but it was all well worked into the plot. I've never played the game but I assume it was a good tribute to the game. We rode Flight Deck twice, Gold Striker twice, Drop Zone and some of the flats. I noticed both coasters to be more rough than the last time I rode them, but they're both still great rides. Flight Deck melted our faces and Gold Striker is just good fun. We requested the back both times and were granted it. When you ride Gold Striker you go blurry STOKED. This means so many great parks are in my future.

I too wish I could play, but I don't have a phone that supports it yet either. Just got back from the park, our primary goal today was taking my friend's kids around the park but I did sneak away for 3 rides on Joker. Joker, Superman, V2, Kong, Voodoo, and Whitewater all closed when I got there. Joker opened later but was only running green train all day. Made for about 40 min waits. Superman and Kong opened later, but it looked to be a while later. V2 looked to have the train on and ride ops cleaning around the station and a maintenance worker doing something with the trains, so it does look like it should open soon. Last thing: the new sandwich place is LEGIT!! They let me customize a vegetarian sandwich and it was very healthy and tasty. Thumbs way up!

I honestly thought that when V2 was down so long, but now if they're putting it back it might be a while again before they decide to have it down long enough for a repaint and retheme. Flash makes total sense but I'm gonna call it now for Batman. SFDK is like the only Six Flags park without a coaster named Batman. Plus Batman next to Joker kinda makes sense. Unless we actually get one of those Free-Fly coasters in the next few years and that one is named Batman?

Well you're talking to someone who has had SFDK as my home park my whole life, so I feel the need to defend the park but obviously you are entitled to your opinion as someone who doesn't have the same nostalgia for the park (and seemingly wasn't too impressed by the animals, because that can definitely be a factor). I've been to SFDK, SFMM, SFGAdv, SFGAm, and SFNE. Besides maybe SFNE (which still has more coasters than SFDK), the other parks are huge and have very impressive coaster lineups. I can admit that our coaster lineup isn't the best, especially when one or more of the coasters are down. We've gotten better since the addition of Superman and Joker, but with V2 and Kong down, Boomerang being a very skippable lawn ornament, and others suffering breakdowns, I could see why you'd be not impressed. Also, we have a height restriction of 150 so we can't get the crazy big coasters that those other parks have. Having an awesome hyper would make the park more exciting, but we just can't have it. All the parks you mentioned have hyper coasters. I also think SFDK is the smallest Six Flags park as far as number of rides go. It's the animals that set us apart from the other parks. Also, maybe you've gotten lucky at SFMM, but I've been there on days when all the coasters have "hell no" lines (like 2-3 hours on the somewhat worth it coasters and an hour or more on rides that I barely like waiting 15 min for, like Viper) and there's nothing else to do there. They also have stupidly slow operations worse than I've seen at SFDK and running one train on rides for no apparent reason and just weird policies and stuff that can make for an awful day. SFDK rarely gets lines longer than 20-30 and even on days where the coasters have hour long lines, there are still rides with short lines (like VooDoo and Taz) and the animals and shows. I saw the animal show at SFGAdv and it sucked so bad. We're not up to par with Seaworld but our shows are still a nice break when the coasters have long waits. Thanks for reading and letting me have my say, I usually hear people say that it was a cute little park on their first-time visit but not a crazy thrill destination, and that's kind of how I see it (when I put aside the nostalgia). I think people are underrating Joker, though. I really think it's better than Twisted Colossus and the other RMCs I've been on at the parks mentioned. On a different note, I just noticed that RCDB has V2 listed as SBNO. However, I forgot to mention that when I was there last about a week ago, it looked like they might be putting trains back on (there was someone working a forklift with what looked to be a gutted car on the tracks), and an operator at Joker said she heard they were trying to get it up and running soon (she said "next week" but it sounds like it's not running yet).

Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

I don't understand some of these rankings. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I would definitely say: 1. Joker 2. Wicked Cyclone 3. Twisted Colossus 4. Goliath I have plans to ride Storm Chaser this fall and Lightning Rod if I get the chance. -
^^I'm sorry you had a bad time at the park, sounds like it was possibly just a bad day with all the breakdowns. Which Six Flags parks have you visited? A lot of the other parks are just a lot bigger and more rounded out with rides. Operations can be bad but definitely not as bad as SFMM! We could use more flats and obviously the animal exhibits aren't to the quality of many zoos, but I still think our park is a fun little park, idk what all you were expecting. Also, in the newsletter they talk about ERT on Monday 7-11 day if you buy a slushie, has anyone done this before? Doesn't say which rides but if it is Joker....definitely worth the purchase of a slushie!

I'm glad to hear it will. It was a bit annoying to me after having ridden other RMCs when they were broken-in more and sound-free. Tuesdays seem like the days to go! We had 20 minute waits max a week ago on Tuesday. Also, I just took a survey about shopping at the park. I think they're trying to sell their season shopping pass for $25, but you'd have to buy over $125 to make it worth it. I buy coaster shirts and occasional sweatshirts and shot glasses and whatnot but I don't think I spend that much. If the pass worked for all Six Flags parks and esp if they started an online store (which they asked about as well) maybe I'd consider it more. Or if it was a year where I reallyyy thought I was gonna buy a lot of park merch. There were also a lot of questions about brand names and what we'd like to see at the park. Some of them made me go, "huh?" Apple store and Victoria's Secret? Because I totally want to go to Six Flags to buy my laptop and undies...

No Have you been rick rolled this year?

This was from a post back in February, but it is one of the funnier ones I read this week!

The Joker, SFDK -
We went to BGT today also and heading to SWO tomorrow. BGT was better than I expected. any "can't miss" things you'd recommend? (we're doing the Safari on Monday. . and then, to keep w/ this thread, lemme know what you think of SW, so we can plan that too ). I guess it depends on what you like, don't skip out on all the animals for coasters, but don't miss any of the coasters either! Besides the safari which is awesome, there are kangaroo and lorikeet feeding, but if you go later in the day they're less interested. I like all the shows (including Iceploration!) and they're good to do if the rides are closed for weather. I definitely loved Kinetix (night show) last year and I haven't heard but I assume it's already started up this year. Also, Jambo Junction and Curiosity Caverns are tucked away and easily missed, but they're nice quiet animal areas with smaller animals. The flamingos are LEGIT I love the flamingos! Esp if you can get a keeper to give you some of the food to feed them. Also, don't miss the cheetah run!

Was at the park yesterday and might stop by today for a bit. No more than 15-20 minute waits for Joker all day with some 10 min or less waits. I got 12 rides in, might post a few ride photos if we have any good ones. This coaster seriously never gets old. My only concern/complaint are the sounds the ride is currently making. There is a harsh grinding metal against metal sound on some of the turns, and a loud roar at the bottom of the drop and a few other high g places. I don't remember ever hearing these sounds on TC or Wicked Cyclone so maybe Joker just needs to break in more. Don't get me wrong, the sound is nothing compared to the awesomeness of this ride, and I'm sure it'll be fine, but has anyone noticed these sounds on other RMCs in their first few months of operation?

Thanks for the info! I agree with you, which is why I've never bought a Platinum Pass. However, I'm moving to Ohio later this year and might stop at WoF on the way. I think a Platinum Pass is definitely worth it in Ohio with KI as my home park and CP not too far away and with early entry, ERT, and Haunt at those parks. I also get free Dinosaurs Alive They probably should sell an Ohio pass, now that you mention a CA pass, but they won't because people will pay for Platinum because of Cedar Point.
