  1. They'll work immediately. If he's coming from another state, he'll probably want all the credits even if he only rides once. Vortex really isn't that bad if you turn your head into the turns. Are you sure? Because I read on another site discussing last year's sale that they were running a deal that you could go once in 2015 with the purchase of a new 2016 Platinum Pass. This was a site discussing KI but I thought Platinum Passes always worked the same. Last year's deal was if you bought a '16 gold season pass, you got 1 free visit in '15. All that was included in that '15 visit was admission. Parking and the other Gold perks like Dinos Alive admission were not included. You had to wait until '16 to get those. That sounds like what I read but is it the same with Platinum Passes too? I'm definitely gonna need more than one visit this year, I have 3-4 Cedar Fair parks planned this fall. It just sucks to spend the $200 only to shell out $200 for next year as well. I mind as well visit CGA this summer if I'm gonna do it, get the most for my money. I assume it doesn't matter what CF park I purchase/process at? It's this stuff that really makes me appreciate the Six Flags Gold Pass sales.

  3. ^Last three the OP won't have to worry about if he has any sense of self-preservation But no joke, waiting in the Flight Deck station for your row is prime sunburnland. Also, when the Cedar Fair parks sell 2017 passes in the fall, do they work for the remainder of 2016 or do you need a 2016 pass as well?
  4. ^Great news! Doug, great photos, and I'm glad you agree with me that it's the best in CA. And I'm glad to hear the sandwiches are open! I peeked at their menu and they have a lot of sandwiches with produce but none that were strictly vegetarian/vegan, but I'm hoping they let us request our own sandwiches so I can request all the produce on one epic salad sandwich! Also, when I was there last in May, it looked like JBs had some more craft beer options. Can anyone confirm?
  5. No. I'm in complete denial about the fact that I'm almost 30. I'm one of the cool kids. I refuse to let anyone tell me otherwise. Now get off my lawn. Also, Knoebels makes you young again. Just sayin'.
  6. I've been reading this TR and all the footage from these parks is great! The photos of Phantasialand really impressed me, and I must say, nothing like a good rapids ride to get everyone giggling at their friends getting soaked! Sounded like you guys reacted the same way I do to those rides, but that one just looks way more fun and impressive than any of the ones I've been on!
  7. Joker was closed before the part recall even was announced. The fact that it's running now doesn't necessarily mean the issues were different, it could just mean they took care of it (on at least green train) before LR or Wildfire. But we really don't know, all we know is it's running now (albeit one train) and that's good enough for me to trust that things are alright. So I'll be there some time in July to get some of those sublime back left rides, anyone who doesn't trust that Six Flags has the issue handled can go ride Medusa.
  8. The tweet about the barrel immediately made me think "barrel roll" but I haven't followed KI teasers in the past. Did they throw in a lot of red herrings before the Banshee announcement? They've been doing security checks sporadically at Valleyfair this year, and I've heard they've started at MiA as well. At VF, they brought out a few folding tables for them to go through people's bags and had a wand metal detector. So, they didn't really "install" a security checkpoint, but they do occasionally bring it out. Not sure if this is what KI is doing or not. It's been since last year that I've been to CGA but they've had security checking bags and wand metal detectors for the last few years as far as I know.
  9. COBRA'S CURSE WINE!! I need that! Everything about this ride looks great! The theming is excellent and the ride looks perfect for families.
  10. You could always call the park like others have done.
  11. Sad to hear about Bubbles We used to have this VHS, "A Day at Seaworld" and there was this whole song about Bubbles in it that my family still brings up to this day. It went, "B-b-b-b-Bubbles is her name, blowing lots of Bubbles her favorite game. B-b-b-b-Bubbles is her name, and Bubbles are her favorite game!" She will be missed.
  12. People are already saying awful, hateful things about the massacre in Orlando. How could anyone believe anyone deserves something like that??? I'm a Christian and anyone else who professes themselves Christian should NOT hate other people or wish them dead; probably the most important virtue of the Bible is LOVE, so anyone who flings around the handful of verses that mention homosexuality should focus more on the HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of verses that tell us to love one another, not hate, and not judge! It really pisses me off because this kind of thing is not what God wants for us! And even if you don't believe in a god, there is still decent HUMANITY and in no way is it okay for this sort of thing to happen!
  13. My heart goes out to all of you in Orlando today. Praying for the families affected, hope all of you locals are safe. This is awful
  14. ^Hopefully the Joker is open by then. It should definitely be enough time to do everything unless the park is randomly slammed, in which case you should get Flash Pass. I would run to Joker at opening and get a few rides before 12 on that as well as Superman and V2 if it's open. The coaster lines can be "meh" during the middle of the day so usually I get lunch, check out the animals, and do flats or water rides in the middle, then hit Kong and Medusa later in the pm and then back to Joker to finish out your day.
  15. OMG, that looks so much faster than all of the other RMCs! It looks like it whips through those inversions and charges through the course! Definitely blows Lightning Rod (and everything else!) out of the water. The airtime on this is going to be INSANE. RMC never ceases to amaze me! You guys in the area (or with the funds to fly over) are so lucky!
  16. Maybe they'll even throw in some marketing to try and sell more Platinum Passes? Advertise both coasters at the same time? Just a thought. I've never seen it happen, but Ohio is the only state I know of where that might make sense.
  17. Actually, I got bitten quite a lot when I was there last summer. Never near the coasters, the two worst areas I noticed was the viewing area by the gorillas and chimps and Curiosity Caverns and occasionally Jambo Junction. However, we were in those areas a lot in the morning so it could be because of that. The chimps area was so bad sometimes I had to run in place to keep them from biting me. Bug spray should help though. Maybe they just like the shadier areas.
  18. Screamscape is also reporting that RMC is going to take over Mean Streak. They were right about Valravn, just sayin. Believe it or not, I'm actually hoping I can get one more ride on Mean Streak this year before it closes (if it closes?). I want to try the front-row, lean forward technique you guys have been talking about. Sounds like it might close before I get over there in August or September. Not a huge loss, as anything RMC would do will be much, much better. I'm excited about the potential new for 2017 coasters at Kings Island and CP, as I'll be an Ohioan later this year. Bring on the coasters!
  19. Almost always desktop for viewing and responding on forum. Like 90% of my time at least. It's much more difficult to browse and respond on the forum via phone or I might use it more. As someone else already said, I really only view TPR content on my phone if I don't have my computer, I'm following a specific thread and away from my computer, or I'm browsing social media and TPR content comes up.
  20. ^^Those are gorgeous! Same artist? I never posted the finale of my coaster/flowers/butterfly. Pictures are from when it was new because I've been too lazy to photograph the healed. It still looks just as vibrant though. If you don't understand it, that's okay. Most people don't understand me I might add onto it more in the future, but for now i'm very satisfied with it.
  21. Great TRs! Seems like you guys really know how to have a good time! Copious amounts of alcohol, cheetah hats, and hopefully lots of orca pics to come. Oh yeah. Although, I will have to say that Congo River Rapids was my favorite water ride at Busch Gardens when I worked there last summer and my favorite rapids ride overall. Yes, I got completely soaked every time I rode it, but it was just a lot of fun riding with the kids and freaking out and screaming any time anyone got splashed, and placing bets on who would get wettest. I probably wouldn't have liked it as much if I just went with adults hoping for a light spritzing. Your reviews of Kumba and Montu were perfect. Oh, and I kinda liked Iceploration. Had to have seen it at least half a dozen times. It's just so cheesy it's hilarious! And I'm glad you spoke up about your Disney criticism, very brave of you. Every time I go to a Disney park, I think, "Wow, that really is something else, but don't plan on coming back again for a while." There are a handful of really great rides, but I found that I can do them all in one day and be satisfied (I even did all the choice rides at all 4 WDW parks in one day, but probably won't try that again), and I really don't like the chaotic Disney-crazed families and little kid crowds. It's so expensive too. There are so many other parks I could spend the money on that people spend for a week at the WDW parks. Still worth a visit if you've never been, but I'd probably go back for Universal, Busch Gardens, or Seaworld before I would for Disney.
  22. There's this: But in seriousness, nothing Joker specific. There are some generic SFDK borders. On the website, it says my photo is available until 8/10 so I assume I can change all the borders when they make one available.
  23. ^In denial Yeah, the photo pass has been great! I got pics at SFGAdv and SFNE (would have had more on Wicked Cyclone but one of the trains wasn't triggering the camera). Totally worth it this year. And yes, same guy. After riding in the front with him, we took our second ride in the back. He had to go to work after that. Red-headed guys took a selfie with me and said something about posting on their site. I was somewhat hoping they were TPR members and I'd get to see the picture on here.
  24. One more, shout out to the two red-headed guys that I ended up sitting behind twice and then jumping into their blasphemous conversation. They thought a certain coaster in Southern California was better (it's not) and they thought the front was better than the back (it's not). Also, I'm a little concerned about where my riding buddy is looking in this photo. Caught!
  25. So I've gone to town this year with the photo pass, to the point where the employee at the photos would be expecting me every time I got off the ride. I ended up with 34 photos from 12 rides (somehow she put a lot of duplicates) so it's hard to narrow it down to a few, but here goes. My first ride on this thing on Friday, 5/27. First train of the day, front row. Utter shock, and a cute stranger riding buddy That one time they didn't fill all the rows and I got probably the only picture to date as the only one in the back half of the train. I only chose to sit on the right to give it a chance, but I like the left better! Doug's first ride on Saturday, in the front! Proof that Doug really does like the back better. Notice the change in facial expression between the two pics
