  1. I feel like the "you can do everything in a few hours" advice is referring to pre-Covid crowd levels. I've done 30 parks in the last two years and I haven't experienced a single day at any of them where I'd describe crowd levels as anything less than "packed." When I visited WOF on a Tuesday in mid July 2020, every single line was spilling out into the midway. Demand has never been higher for amusement parks in my lifetime. I still wouldn't pre-purchase Fast Lane (who knows, you *could* get lucky...), but I'd certainly budget for it.
  2. ^Agreed. My friends and I enjoyed trying some different cocktails at the Chocolatier but the food itself was quite meh.
  3. Yup, these are the new standard for B&M dive coasters, unfortunately. I don't like the vests on any coaster, but they have the most negative effect on dive coasters, IMO. The vertical drops aren't nearly as intense when you're being held snuggly against the seat by a big rubber vest.
  4. Sarkanniemi was crazy packed on my visit, as well. Such a gorgeous setting for a park, though! I loved your aerial photos. I didn't have time to do the observation tower because I made the interesting decision to do ALL off Sarkanniemi AND Linnanmaki in one day (but I still waited 45 minutes for the kiddie coaster because I'm that kind of person). I agree that Tornado is a gem. I especially loved the tunnel after the vertical loop and the first barrel roll! Maybe I'm just jaded (and also a giant Intamin fanboy) but I enjoyed it far more than the Batman clones.
  5. Most interesting to me this year is the placement of Twisted Colossus. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a really fun ride...but it's definitely a "mid-tier" RMC for me. Plus, it sits on a parking lot. I'm kind of shocked to see it ahead of Steel Vengeance (and Fury...and I305) in the Steel Poll.
  6. I don't mind open-air stations, but this coaster really just feels plopped-down for a park as pretty as SeaWorld.
  7. As a giant fan of attractions-in-a-box... Spookslot sucked. When the end of the show came, I thought I had been Punk'd. Great setting and queue, though! I hope they replace it with an equally *spooky* ride that actually has some entertainment/thrill factor.
  8. You are so talented (and patient), my friend. Per uush, this report was worth the wait… unlike aforementioned newer USO attractions. I’m so glad you chose to join us up in Orlando for this adventure, even if our visit was brief! Thanks for the amazing photos and reminder that I should probs spend more time riding with my arms down.
  9. An Intamin blitz would be the perfect addition to this (or...any?) park--hope it's true! I've also seen pics circulating that show Coaster Express getting some major retracking done.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the first Axis coaster installed here. Especially since S&S said they've already sold one to a European park.
  11. This new ride combo (...and the city itself) is enough to get me back to Austin. But also Terry Black's BBQ.
  12. Fantastic report that really shows off the beauty and uniqueness of this park! But I do disagree about Mystery Castle. Did you only ride once? Each cycle runs a different drop sequence, so you may have gotten a weak one. But I love the anticipation and massiveness of it all, plus the (usually) multiple strong drops!
  13. ^16 years later and I still remember that effect on the Yo-Yo. It was totally terrifying. I hope it still runs the same way!
  14. I say go for it. Crowds shouldn't be bad at opening and the coasters are relatively reliable. Plus, Saturday is probably the best day to travel into/out of LAS, since most people there are staying over the weekend. You really don't need more than an hour at Adventuredome, anyway.
  15. I'm going to visit BGW on a Friday with a 10pm closing in the coming weeks. Do you guys have suggestions for the best night rides in the park? My immediate thoughts were Apollo's Chariot and Verbolten. Due to reduced park hours across the country, these will likely be my only "night rides" of the trip...so I'd like to make the most of them! Also, does BGW close queues early?
  16. When I was at CP near the end of June, there were still lots of orange survey flags scattered throughout the Antique Cars area. I personally think a giant Gerstlauer with 15 inversions would totally ruin the nicest area of the park... but who knows. Maybe the project was cancelled.
  17. Shew, those coasters sure look dilapidated... Hope I can get on both of them next month! lol Can adults ride/credit whore the kiddie coaster?
  18. Dorney's line-up is unfortunate because it's full of solid supporting coasters, but doesn't have a single stand-out attraction (though I'm sure in the late 90's/early 2000's, Steel Force seemed pretty spectacular to the community). It has the exact opposite problem of Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland. I'd still place Steel Force as my favorite coaster at Dorney, but I also think Talon and Hydra are quite fun. They both have unique layouts, but are relatively forceless (aside from Talon's finale).
  19. Time Traveler totally blew me away and this one looks even better. Can Cedar Point or Kings Island get one soon, plz?
