Also glad no one was hurt. It would be utterly terrifying to experience one of the most insane roller coasters in the world in a partially derailed car. But yeah. This is my favorite coaster and I’m visiting for the first time in 5 years at the beginning of August and I’m really really hoping the park realizes the value in this ride and does everything they can to fix it quickly. I can’t think of any similar incidents on a coaster of this scale, though. I have a sickening feeling it will be down for a long, long time.

Movie Park Germany Discussion Thread

I swore I would never return to Movie Park Germany after my godawful 2 hours there in 2018... but this just might make me reconsider. I know it's just a well-dressed family coaster, but the execution looks SO well done. And the theme is right up my alley. -

Is headbanging a problem on any B&M invert? (besides that one wicked slam on Alpengeist which kind of makes the ride) -

Oh, trust me, FireChaser Express is one of my highlights at Dollywood, too. But I prefer when parks add coasters that bring a new experience to their collection, rather than something similar to what guests can experience right down the midway. (See my ramblings about how Orion is a fine ride but would've been a better addition to nearly any other park than Kings Island) Additionally, between FireChaser, Dragonflier, Whistle Punk Chaser, and Blazing Fury, it’s not like the park is exactly hurting for family coasters. -

In my (uninformed) opinion, the concept art looks much more "motorbike coaster"-esque than something like Cheetah Hunt of Copperhead Strike. But I agree that something like either of those would be an excellent addition. I was lowkey hoping for a Mack Xtreme Spinner or indoor coaster...but who knows! Maybe those are 2 of the other potential concepts. -
Midwest park trip planning

My friends and I did a similar trip last summer! Super fun and very doable. In my opinion, the only parks on your list that you'll need a FULL day for (open to close in the park) are Silver Dollar City and SFGAm. So you'll likely have a little more time to rest than expected, if you choose. I'll echo that it's worth doing whatever you can to get on Voyage and Outlaw Run at night. Those two experiences are worth the trip, alone. -

Some art leaked for one of the possible concepts for the 2023 coaster. It looks like a long, sit-down, family multi-launch coaster in the back of Wildwood Grove...which I personally find strange considering Firechaser Express is right around the corner. -

I've ridden Goliath probably 20 times all over the train, mostly in the back. Not once have I experienced any airtime that I would consider "ejector." I think the whole ride is quite graceful (and floaty) for an Intamin. But I do think it's a beautiful coaster with super comfy trains. -

It's my personal opinion that all 3 of their top coasters are overrated, but I know others absolutely love that trio and I totally respect that. (I'm a total Intamin fanboy but I'd consider Goliath to be weaker than most B&M hypers--besides Intimidator at Carowinds.) -

Unfortunate to hear about Boulder Dash. I'm planning on visiting Lake Compounce for the first time in August and was really hoping it would be in good shape this season. -

Interesting how Walibi Belgium has been adding gorgeously-themed additions and renovations over the past few years whereas Walibi Holland has been trying hard to make their park look as atrocious as possible. -

Fingers crossed the appeal is successful. Again, I know it's only concept art, but a modern Vekoma would be the most perfect addition to this park's collection. (Besides a traditional hyper...but I'm guessing we'll never be seeing one of those at Grona Lund. lol) -

Yikes, that's an unfortunate way to start the season. The leaves KD with like, what, 4 rides? -
They really went all out with those photo-op setups. I love it! Headed back to Knott's on Monday and can't wait! The Wacky Soapbox Racers pop-up made me head to YouTube to check out some old footage of that ride and it looked like so much fun. Totally the unique kind of thing I wish more parks had held onto over the years. Now that we're in the age of "Nostalgia Sells," I'd love to see Knott's install an updated version at some point. ...right after they put in that Giga.

The setting of this ride is just incredible. The foot-choppers seem nearly endless. Can't wait to make it back to Sweden! -

The more days KI hits capacity, the less days we have to wait for that modern multilooper filling Vortex's giant dirt plot... right? -

I'm sure this is causing a big sh*tstorm all over Sandusky this weekend. It's pretty ridiculous that this was the "solution" they came up with for under-staffing issues. With that said, at $20/per hour and a $500 signing bonus... brb throwing all my belongings in the car and headed back to work at Cedar Point for the summer! -

Dollywood is such an iconic name for a park. Even my non-enthusiast friends around the country are familiar with it. I really hope even if Dolly parts ways with the park that Herschend can strike a deal to continue using her name. Would certainly miss her presence, regardless.
