I play the drums also! I was in a band called Holotype, but about 2 months ago the project fell apart for several reasons. We played alot of good shows, and were rather popular around the Orlando metal scene. One of our songs still holds a #1 spot on garageband.com for its category. Click here if you want to hear some songs from my group. As far as personal accomplishments, I recently had a featured article on sickdrummer.com. Im probably going to start another project just to keep myself playing, but I think the route I want to take with my drumming now is to try to become a studio musician. I dont even know how to break into that around Florida, I may have to move to another state to find steady work.

Favorite first drop on a Steel Coaster
Imhotep replied to SpectralN's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a tie for my favorite.. Millennium Force and Sheikra. -
The thread would not have receieved many replies anyways, because no one really knows him enough to care. Yes its horrible to hear someone has died, and that someone famous has lost their son. But you cannot expect much conversation and sympathy if no one really knows much about the person that died. Im sure he was a great person, and Im sure Anna Nicole is distraught over the loss. I send them my wishes, even though they dont know me enough to care.. But really, his loss isnt something this community is going to really discuss.

Imhotep replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ You've GOT to see FD3! Especially if you enjoyed the first two. All your work is great, Flipdude. Its unique to the boards! Maybe you guys can use one of Flipdudes strips to feature on a TPR shirt or something. -

^^lol looks red to me. Looks like this is the year of the vertical drop and beyond coasters. This should make for an exciting trip next year! -
lol, Im really hoping it gets no worse than this! Well, we kinda needed the rain anyways.

I would like to say thank you as well. This site is responsible for helping me graduate to full enthusiast status! Your trip reports have inspired past and future trips for my fiancee and I.. Our first trip being summer of last year to 6 parks in 7 days, and recently we started easing our friends into the trips by taking them to SFoG earlier this year, and we are planning on taking some friends with us on a 2 week long coaster trip next year. Hopefully in the future we will be financially able to join you guys on some of the official TPR coaster trips. You guys are really fun in person, and would be awesome to go on a trip with people that are as into coasters and parks as you guys because we are growing to that level ourselves. Thanks again guys. I dont know if we left a good impression on you guys last year, but you guys and your site have done alot for me. I\m/,hotep

Thats an excellent point! People that I have ridden with that were scared of the ride told me they would put their feet up against the bar and push themselves into their seat to ease their fear. The fact that you only have your restraint between you and the ground, thats freakin sweet!! The more this ride sinks in the more I realize its going to be awesome. Thanks B&M and Busch Gardens!!

Maybe better because of the terrain, agreed.. But the ride time doesnt seem any longer than Sheikra. And if you want to get technical, Sheikra has an 80 ft advantage in track length over Griffon, but really it doesnt matter though. its the subtle differences that will make this ride unique anyways.. The 10 across seating and floorless trains are enough of a change to me. Maybe they wouldnt mind sending one of those bad boys down to tampa

Looks awesome! I think the scenery will be loads better than BGA's, but the ride experience will be rather similar, which I think is good. I can't wait to ride this next year! I only wish they could have done something different for the 2nd inversion, like a dive loop.. Since both drops are pretty much in open space, they could have had the dive loop go into a tunnel feature. That would have been crazy.

Son of Beast rider files suit
Imhotep replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That lawsuit was legit. Do some research before you talk out of your ass. If you would have quoted his whole post you would have saw that he wasnt talking out of his ass. -
I disagree, I think both movies were moderately popular at best, and -at least in the states- are very much on the same level in terms of popularity. That was the comparison I was trying to make. Mummy wasnt this big huge blowout hit at the box office, however it was popular enough to have a few sequels, andhas an awesome ride dedicated to it. TFaTF was also not a huge blowout, but it did about the same in theatres, has a few sequels, and therefore it wouldnt be a bad move for the park to make movie ride out of it if they wanted to based on its popularity in theatres.

Scenery that looks terrible!

I really liked Volcano's coaster, but I wasnt impressed with the Volcano theming and the hot chicken coop of a queue. -
Rides that will never happen
Imhotep replied to zaneymon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It *feels* like a coaster in the JP section of IOA will never happen. -
^yeah, and on top of that, look at The Mummy, not one of the most popular movies out there.. In fact, I like the ride way more than the movie (only seen the first one, and I only watched it because I liked the ride so much). The Fast and The Furious made 11mil domestic gross less than The mummy at the box office, so Im sure they wouldnt rule out a TFaTF solely in terms of popularity because at the Box Office both movies did comparatively well.

I dont know if I like it.. I mean, the simpsons are great and all , but USF already has an animation-based motion simulator and an animation based 4-d theater. Ive heard a rumor that instead of a simpsons based motion sim that they were going to put one in themed to the Fast and Furious movies. Now Im not a fan of those movies myself, but I could see that being a more realistic possibility, and would probably be more exciting than the simpsons IMO. Then, next to the BTTF building, they can put in a BTTF themed 88mph Intamin rocket. I would rather them save the simpsons idea for something bigger... I like how someone else mentioned making a whole new island in IOA dedicated to the simpsons. That would be sweet!

The MOST addicting games on the planet
Imhotep replied to BlackHole2005's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ive been addicted to City of Heroes for the past week.. What an awesome game! I dont play it, but I would be willing to bet that World of Warcraft is probably the most addicting game out there considering the amount of users they have. -
Clerks II Trailer. Dante and Randal are back!

Saw it tonight, man... I agree, gangbusters. Loved every minute of it... Even the credits were funny! -
Honestly, I have been feeling this way for a while now about the PSP. I was let down HORRIBLY by Katamari, I barely watch movies on it, I dont use it for any of its other functions (I have an mp3 player, and its way less bulky), good games are few and far between, and those games that are good are SHORT.... The only thing Ive been playing the past month is Midway Arcade Treasures, and its only so i can get a few battles in on MKII with a friend of mine. And that doesnt happen too often anymore. I just recently got a new laptop, and I have been introduced to City of Heroes... Ive never been so addicted to a game in my life. It has completely crushed my desire to play my PSP all together.
