Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
Imhotep replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh, I would say chances are the rumors are untrue.. I don't see the value in reinvesting and adding rides, unless they plan on adding unique never-before-seen stuff. That won't happen because its way to much of a gamble, especially considering the parks track record. -
That's awesome. I remember we heard this news from a tram operator several months ago, probably back in June sometime, but I paid him no mind considering I hadn't heard the news elsewhere. I remember he mentioned somethings that were going to be included in the expansion, but it just went in one ear and out the other considering I really didn't believe it was happening.

I agree that the mods on the site do a great job, and they have a ton on their plate.. Repeat offenders could cause frustrations, so I can understand sarcasm. But maybe a healthy compromise would be to have all the mods use 'canned responses' to common issues . That way, you dont have to worry about smart comments that could possibly drive away members... And its faster for them, because they just copy/paste a reply instead of having to type out a response. The KBF discussion is a good example. A thread was bound to get created, because not everyone catches the topic description (mistakes, we're only human, etc). Whomever caught and locked the topic could have used a canned response, something like "This perticular issue is already being discussed here: (url of thread) Click the link to join the discussion!" Maybe its a thought. I have never been a mod myself, so I dont know how much of a pain something like this would be.. But I know at my job, it makes work in my department easier. We all use canned phrases for those frustrating issues we face, or for those reps that come to us repeatedly that just don't seem to get it

I think that is the only thing that could save them, BeemerBoy. As for CG closing, *yawn*. It was open? Must've slept through it. -
I think I would have definitely reacted the way they did.. They looked like their skin was burning or severly itching from the metal peices, I dont think I could sit there and be calm, thats for sure. At the end of the day, fortunately there were no injuries. Intamin really needs to look into these cable snaps.. I think they would be inclined to do so even if it is the parks fault, because no matter who is at fault it still looks bad for them.

Those pictures are absolutely incredible!! The 2nd picture you posted of Kumba is now officially my background. Thanks for sharing -
I took my bonus son to Uni this past sunday to ride HRRR. I feel while it was a great ride, it wouldn't have been much to write home about if it didn't have the music in my opinion. Also, I hope they alter the queue video. Overall the queue videos were great, however hearing 'tummy check on aisle 2!' over and over again made me want to swan dive off the loading platform and into the side of the Blue Man Group building. As far as the sample pics go, Im sure as long as they aren't modified to remove the watermark, then she should be fine. I mean, they were given to her to print right?? I was also allowed by the employee that was at my kiosk to take my own picture of our onride picture. I'm sure it doesn't really bother them because the quality of the picture on my phone is terrible compared to what I could have bought. Another thing. Really Adam? I had no trouble what-so-ever reading her post. Since when do we all have to be english majors to post here? She wasn't using l33t or txt speak. Do we really need to crack down on everyone for spelling and punctuation that has legible posts?

I think all of it is contributed to Rockit being a new endeavor. Manta isn't the first flyer (and not a copy of tatsu), and its not the first B&M in Florida. Almost everything is new about Rockit. If you spend millions on a new attraction, especially one with so many technical features built by a company not known to build in the US, delays come with the territory. It didn't really open that much later than anticipated. Especially not compared to other attractions in Florida that have seen significantly longer delays.

B&M and 240 feet...
Imhotep replied to itsasamccormick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Nah, not really Anyways, I would love to see a taller B&M , but there would have to be a ton of modifications that I'm sure would just drive the cost up too high. -
ULTIMATE THRILL RIDER

Wow. Sign me up!!! -
I dont understand how the tunnel clearance issue was a fail. Yes the tunnel was too small , but its not like they found this out after testing. They found this out a long time ago after they put the track up and checked the clearance. They fixed it when the clearance guide didnt clear. Sounds like they did what they were supposed to do to me. If they didnt check with the clearance guides, and a train got damaged or god forbid someone got injured, then it would definitely be a fail.

Also, I HATED the new singer when I heard his overdub of Bleed the Fifth, but he is GREAT with his own stuff! He really is a good replacement for Tommy, even if I'dve chosen to keep him as the singer. I heard it, its pretty awesome. Tim Yueng is a rediculous drummer! Speaking of Dino, I am looking forward to the new Fear Factory stuff, Dino is back in and will be doing both bands. The new lineup also features Gene Hoglan who is probably hands down my favorite metal drummer. I guess right now there are some legal struggles with the use of the name, so hopefully this project doesn't get canned. Lately I have been listening to Mastodon's Crack the Skye and Sky Eats Airplane's self titled like crazy. I am really looking forward to the new Killswitch Engage and I hope someday soon Periphery finally gets their album done.

B&M Giga coasters???
Imhotep replied to BEAMER3K's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I can see where you are coming from.. But really, since all dive machines are tall and imposing in general I dont see any reason to call them anything other than Dive Machines. When I think of the word Hyper, I think different things for different manufacturers. With Intamin , I think of an out and back coaster between 200 & 300ft, only because thats how they classify it. With B&M and other manufacturers, I classify it by style of coaster. -
Apparently his death was accidental

I was mostly clarifying that the people mover system on this ride would not be like the WEDway people mover at WDW, but a different kind. You are probably right. They did say it will have a 'people mover like' station where the trains do not stop moving, but they never mentioned anything about a moving sidewalk. I imagine it would be easier to not have a moving sidewalk in case they have to stop a train in the station.

^^^^^About the 'fail'.. they may not be done, but it looks to me like that bar sticking out is probably just enough below the reach envelope to where you wouldnt hit it. It looks to be at rail level (maybe lower, could be the perspective).. That being said, it looks pretty stupid that it is sticking out like that, but maybe they are planning on finishing the tin siding on the building and need that bar to anchor it in to.
