I definitely do not condone this guys behavior and truly feel sorry for the woman if it ruined her day. I just thought interjecting a little humor tying the article in with an existing TPR meme would be OK considering the statement at the bottom of the forum. I would in no way however say this woman was wrong or over reacted if the article is taken completely at face value. Yes, maybe there is more to it, but its not really for any of us to sort out. Its also not for any of us to say what is and isn't inappropriate or judge her negatively for her reaction. In saying this, I also realize its not for me to tell you all what opinions you should have, and if they differ than mine I say in advance that I respectfully disagree It would really suck to be either of them right now... hope they find the dude and sort this mess out.

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread

I didn't say it did. But it also didn't help CG succeed either. Adding it to the park was an attempt at gaining attendees so it was just one of the cogs in the fail machine. What I'm saying is, I don't get into preserving it because its a peice of history. Ok then, move it to the new roller coaster museum being built, so you can actually get a credit at the place. It looks like they are probably going to keep it, so hopefully they make it fit in well with the park. -

It won't hurt them to keep it, but it won't help them either. Its one of those 'well, its already there, lets see how it does' decisions. I just can't get on board with the people that want to save Starliner. I just don't see why it matters, really. Its time to move forward, not worry about preserving what didn't work for CG. -

According to Screamscape, it looks like they may try to keep Starliner afterall. Nothing is mentioned about Triple Hurricane, but I imagine if Starliner stays TH will too. Also the water ski show and botanical gardens will stay, and the water park will be a seperate attraction. -

Well, despite my opinions, I wish them well and I really hope they can turn the park around. I am looking forward to visiting and taking my kids there, and maybe there will be enough to keep my family going back and other families visiting for years to come... -
I was, but it was not meant to demean the status of Elvis or Dolly's fanbase I definitely agree with you though, which was really the point I was trying to make with Elvis' home town versus Graceland. Therooboy has a point, Graceland has proven to be a good longterm venture, but I don't think anyone would really go out of their way to see his humble beginnings, or care to see something built in his honor after he died. They want to see where he lived, be a part of him in that way. but unfortunately Odie Anderson doesn't seem to look at it like that, or maybe he wanted and tried to turn Neverland into an attraction but couldn't for some reason.

I didn't say his fans weren't maniacal.. In fact, I didn't state anything about his fans, so how can I be rediculous? Anyways, you're right.. He does have a serious maniacal fanbase and I cannot argue with that, there are people that still think he's alive for christ sakes.. Elvis may even arguably be more popular than MJ in America. However, I don't think Elvis could make people in other countries pass out with excitement over the mention of his name alone. Yes Elvis was big, he has tons of fans, but I think globally MJ may have had more that would do anything just to have a peice of him. Maybe it has something to do with they style of music, or the time period. And if I'm wrong, the town of Tupelo, Mississippi made a big mistake not putting a park there dedicated to him

^I wish some of the tourists felt the same way you do sometimes. Driving would be less frustrating. If there was nothing even remotely close to where Legoland is going, I would be saying good for them. If thats all we had to go visit for miles, then the drive wouldn't be so much of an issue.. Since this isn't CG's case unfortunately, I can't imagine people picking it over any of the other bigger parks that are not much further away... And so far, they haven't.. People didn't visit when it was boring, they didn't again when they added boring rides. Maybe the addition of Legoland will up the excitment ante, but if its not easy to get to, you lose the chance to grab tourists and attract repeat business from locals out side of Winter Haven. I don't really see any trouble with Legoland mixing in with the other big parks. they won't do amazing, but they would do much better, especially with the locals. I have 3 kids, and I'm sure they would want to go to this place all the time. It just gives people another choice since its right there and you don't have to go out of your way to get to the park.

I wish they were seeing it that way, because if they were looking at Gracelands success, they would be building this at Neverland instead of in Gary. They don't have a park dedicated to Elvis in Tupelo, Mississippi because who would honestly go there? Between the two, I guarantee you no one cares about MJs home town versus Neverland. Plus, Neverland would be a cheaper investment.. Just put the rides back in, and make the house a walkthrough tour and bada bing. On the other hand though, MJs fans are maniacal.. His global fan base compared to someone like Elvis or Dolly is just rediculous. People will come from anywhere around the globe I'm sure, so this may actually turn Gary around.

Every park that is worth anything in Orlando is easily accessible and seen -with the exception of Disney of course- from the I-4 corridor. Even Holy Land got this right, and who goes there? Probably more people go there than CG (if you don't count the concert series). Maybe we are all wrong and the park will do fine, but I personally think its a colossal mistake to put LegoLand in CG territory. I think they would do way better in Orlando , even if they setup shop directly next to one of the existing parks. The novelty alone will attract people. In the CG plot, the novelty may bring the locals in once or twice, but because of the location that will probably be all they get... And good luck pulling tourists away from the Orlando Theme Park hub. And about Splendid China. I agree, that would be a good site for it. It may be expensive to retheme and reopen, but I think they would have a better chance at remaining open in the long run which could make it a better investment. Plus, it would be cheaper than building an offramp that goes directly from I-4 to CG, which I think is the only way this park will remain open in CG territory . They just need to turn Cypress Gardens into a state park and be done with it.

Yeah this will work... if they invest some money in building an offramp that goes from I-4 directly to the park's front door. Bring on the fail! -
I'm all for Conan moving to another network, competing with Leno and bringing back some of his awesome signature bits. I never thought Conan was himself on the Tonight Show... His humor is a tad on the juvenile side which doesn't mesh well with the Tonight Show

Cypress gardens has always lacked that uniqueness and charm that would make it worth visiting. I've been there a few times, and I never felt like it was anything more than a public park with a water ski show. Then, they added stock rides -other than the woodies (but really, are they worth making an exception for?)- that had no personality which IMO only made the perception worse. Legoland could bring to the park what it has always lacked, and I really want to believe it would be successful there. However, in order to do that, they will need to invest a ton of money... They can't just slap Lego theming on whats already there, since what's already there has repeatedly proven to be a failure. That being said, I think they are better off finding a better location to build their park... Even if its in Orlando smack in the middle of all the competition. -

Loved the theming, but I enjoyed the movie better without the simulator. Personally I don't like when a motion simulator isn't completely first person, I feel it takes you out of the experience. My son loved it though so thats really all that matters! -
This is for the banner enthusiasts.. HRRR was down open to close Friday 12/11 due to the installation of a new banner on the lift hill. Only the bottom half was installed, so I would expect the ride to be down sometime this week while they install the top half. Also, if you are interested in getting 2 rides for the wait-time of one, check your videos at the kiosk! There is a train (I believe its train 5) that has a camera installed incorrectly in the front-right seat. The camera is upside-down, and only records in black and white. We got off the ride and checked our video, and when the attendant saw we were in that seat she offered to get us back on the ride without waiting. Not only did we get back on, but they put us in the front row for our re-ride. So if you ride the front right, pick a normal song and check your video afterwards.. You might get lucky! I don't know how quickly they plan to resolve the issue with the camera, but the attendant seemed to give off a vibe that this has been going on for a while. Thought Id give you a heads up since the wait times are still insane.

Universal Orlando Kids Survey

I really hope Universal does something with Yo Gabba Gabba, and soon before my daughter grows out of liking the show! Uni should put the Yo Gabba Gabba Live! show in the Toon Lagoon theatre for a few weeks. -

USO should have held out for those 4-across MS trains! If the track is the same gauge, I wonder if there is a chance those sleek trains could be retrofit to run on HRRR, or if there will be a problem with the forces on the outer seats? I hope Chance Morgan has more info about the Unicoaster. Are they going to keep it more of a flat ride like what was shown in the other thread, or do they have a full coaster in the works? The first one was rumored to be built here somewhere in Orlando. Thanks for the updates!
