Launch day is near! PS3/Wii-kend Launches.
Imhotep replied to Homer's topic in Random, Random, Random
I was listening to one of the local talk radio shows, and they said there are people already camping out for the PS3 outside the local Best Buys and WalMarts. I dont remember this happening with the 360 around here, I remember people camping out 1 day.. but 3?? That just seems crazy to me. I just wonder.. How did they find the time to camp? did they take a vacation? are they unemployed, and if so, how did they get the effing money to afford it? eh. -

^ Honestly, I agree with the fact that this ride will be taking up space that could be used for a new, unique and marketable ride. They've already got one 'meh' woodie, why two? -
Thats awesome man!! Ive seen so many cool Knex coasters as of late. I wish I had a basement

Cypress Gardens Announcement on Nov. 9th

You know Dave, as usual you are spot on. I have only been one time (during the grand opening of Galaxy spin, where I got to witness 2 injuries) and we found the park to be quaint, but not a park we were itching to go back to. CG is technically 80mi round-trip off the beaten path from Orlando, however BGA is much further. The irony is Ive never considered it to be 'out of the way' by any means, obviously because it has attractions that are unique and worth visiting. When CG gets something unique to the FL parks that fits the park -like maybe a Eurofighter or a Vekoma Motorbike Coaster- Im sure they will draw bigger crowds. But until then, I can only wish them luck and 'hope' they dont fail. -

^ Fair enough, couldn't agree with you more. The Police and Primus are 2 bands I wish were still around. As far as Metal goes, I miss the band Death. Not sure if many people in here listen to that type of music, but they were one of my favorite heavy bands. Their most recent drummer, Richard Christy is from my hometown of Sanford, FL, and not too long ago replaced Stuttering John on the Howard Stern show.

Ah, Soundgarden!!! I loved them!!! It is a shame they broke up.. Which reminds me.... What about Rage Against the Machine? Their breakup is a shame as well. The coup de grâce is the formation of Audioslave, that in itself is a shame. I see what you are saying. The only difference I see though, is that a band can still choose to move on under the same name and not lose their identity/sucess even after the death of a band member (AC/DC for example). Some bands do not move on after a death and end up breaking up because of it.
-
I agree, If the rest of the band decides not replace the deceased band member and continue on under the same name, then yes they have effectively broken up.. The bands in the list that actually fall under this are Bob Marley, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and Sublime. The Doors went on to release 2 albums after Morrison died, so technically they did break up for other reasons other than death of a band member. I voted for GnR. GnR technically hasn't broken up, but GnR as we knew and love has. Axl is the only original member and he has made mostly a negative reputation for himself. On top of that he is probably the reason the other band members left, and the new members cant even count on him to show up to a gig. I agree that the band is ruined and should break up if anything. I wish Pantera was on the list.. Thats one broken up band -with no chance of reunion- that I miss like crazy.

Cheers from Neesh and I on the baby guys! I hope Pregnancy:The Ride is as smooth as a B&M. I wonder what kind of insane crazy food cravings Elissa will have during pregnancy.. she might actually want pasta with sauce! Who knows. -Imhotep

Heres some names: Bridges Burn Whither Without Failsave Abacus (prob already taken) Led Usunder I def agree with those who said coming up with your own name is half the fun. It help define you as a band and in some instances gives you a unique or funny story to tell. In my current (um, actually on a long hiatus) band Holotype, it took us what seemed like forever to come up with that name. Sometimes you gotta give it time and it will come to you.

LOL amen to that, brotha! Its not easy, especially at the level of content you provide! I tried starting a community for my bands website, but between the boards getting hacked all the time, spam, and not having much time to post content between my real job and band practice/shows, I couldn't keep up with it. At least for bands, MySpace is an easy way out No complaints from my end, except for these god awful forum colors j/k -Imhotep

Oh god.. There always has to be one person that chimes in with one of these comments.. Yes, we are all aware of everyones constitutional right to talk about whatever they want, yadda yadda. Its also TPRs right to offer you something free of charge something that most other sites would probably make you pay for considering the amount of time it takes to put together most of this content, and keep this messageboard up and running and free of spam, etc. Its also Robbs right to get frustrated if he offers help and alternatives to a perticular users issue, and all he gets back are excuses. Wouldn't you agree? And I would also say, that once you sign up for the site, you can talk about what you want as long as it falls in compliance with the TOS, once again set up by TPR. I can only imagine how frustrated you guys (Alveys) can get sometimes when all your hard work and effort to try to make everyone happy is met with flak.. However I think these "its a free country" comments -considering they are only there to add fuel to the fire- are equally as frustrating and are more annoying than anything. *whew* maybe that should have gone in the rant thread, -Imhotep

^ they are thin toms that you are able to change their pitch just by rotating them. Heres a pic :

lol, thats funny, I actually did use rototoms when I first started playing years ago!! I found them at a pawn shop for 50 bucks. I gave them to a friend, although now I regret it.. I could make electronic pads out of them for cheap. Nice.. Korg Triton.. Such a beastly machine
