  1. Me too, but I'm a fan of the old Togos (King Cobra, Shockwave, Sky Rider, etc...). The B&Ms are good, I just go for more what I grew up with. Ok, totally random notion. How about a suspended stand up, ala Alpengeist or Batman? Yes, lots to consider for stresses, g's, design, etc., but a curious idea just the same.
  2. I don't care for the nets either. Can understand the safety logic for installing them, but still don't like them. They take away from the spirit and fun of a coaster flying over the midway. As for stuff flying off the coaster, that's been going on for decades. Nothing new. Seems like only recently people decided to make a big fuss over the idea and put up these nets. Guess we're stuck with them. /end rant
  3. Very impressive...with a tweeest! Seriously wow! From what I hear, Holiday World has always been and up-lifting experience for those who take the plunge at making the trip.
  4. Oh I do....The kids went to an amusement park and got zapped into the D&D world while riding a coaster or dark ride and befriended a small unicorn. Ahh Pacman. Ms. Pacman's name was Pepper, they had a pac dog, and the world architecture was very round. Power Pellets and chomping abounded. Matt, remember Saturday SuperCade circa 80-83? Pacman, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. , Q-Bert, etc all in cartoon form? It was always a toss up: sleep in like I really wanted to (but be bummed about missing the shows), or get up early and watch those shows (but curse them for being on early). LOL! It'd be fun to see those again....then go to Showbiz for Pizza. Good thread. Lots of good memories.
  5. King Cake, yes. Baby, no. Curious tradition, but fun. I keep thinking Austin Powers 2: "I ate a baby once...."
  6. Ok, this and the other PTR REALLY makes me miss Busch. Seriously. Great stuff Chuck!
  7. Hey, good report from one of my fave parks! You captured a really good feel of the place. Oh, we have to about this one.... I kid, I kid. Yes, there are better rapids out there. Regardless, thank you for including a couple shots.
  8. Cool to see a water park PTR. Yay!.....that's all I got. Thank you for putting this up.
  9. A classic example of what Carlin termed Soft Language. It's about like renaming a knob, a "rotary encoder". Same thing, new buzzword. Regardless, slither37 does have a valid point on how one could win over potential PMW. (slither37, no pot shots intended at you friend. My appologies if it seems to the contrary.)
  10. Gentlemen, you both are correct. And yet, those older than us probably feel the same about our favorites. Curious circle, eh?
  11. Almost anywhere the girlfriend will let me. What? I'm talking restaurants.
  12. And the self promotion hits a new high..... The namesake places are worthy additions to an already entertaining thread. Sorry it's been quiet on this end, friend. Busy times in NerdLand. Glad to see the updates just the same.
  13. Scott, I look forward to your administration and how you will incorporate Larry and Big Mike. Truly, this will be a cabinet of charactors. If I can be of help, sir, my royal viseer services (as well as pointless TRs and associated bad jokes) are at your disposal. Perhaps I can sway the mullet/bubba vote over to this administration. Could be a bit hairy, but it's all business in the front, and that is an excellent work ethic, particularly for the PMW initiative.
  14. Thunder Riv.....oh....best coaster. Got it. Goliath. I seem to have a thing for B&M hypers. I could watch it for hours.
  15. "So we went to the AWESOME museum and I think there was some cute little park called six flags, but anyway, the museum was just AWESOME!" Museum = Epic Win. Oh I do sir. I really do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  16. Hope all you Florida folks are doing ok. Used to live there and remember well things like Hurricane Frederick. Will keep good thoughts.
  17. Reading all this is kinda sad. The one and only time I went to Wild World (before it was SFA) I had a good day. Well, part of me would still like to see the park, whatever shape it's in.
  18. ^As much as parks change from year to year, you have not failed. Hmmm...I need to get the Wayne's Worlds on DVD sometime. Looking forward to the next round of this report.
  19. The Dave awesomenes continues! Definately enjoyed it! In future TR's there will be octopus shout outs to you and Falafel in honor of the fun. (If I can find flame throwing bears or said carnivorous bees, or even ill-tempered sea bass, they'll get thrown in too.)
  20. Hey man, I grateful you took time to think of me. Very kind of you and all the others who've done so. No complaints friend. When Paramount owned KI, KD, Carowinds, etc...the Hurler was part of a Wayne's World themed area, with a Stan Makita's Restaurant out front. (The restaurant was a hangout in the Wayne's World movies). Hurler came from Garth Algar's classic tagline "I think I'm gonna hurl!" All of this stuff is based on the original SNL segements with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey as Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar. Some awesome pictures and more of my favorites: Dominator, Shockwave and Avalanche. In the words of Bill and Ted.....EXCELLENT!
  21. Just caught up on the last couple updates, and laughed like a loon. Very entertaining and just well done. Damn funny too!
  22. Has this ever happened to you? Some random friends house in Alabama.... "Whatch you want to drink? You want water, sweet tea, coke?" "I'll have a coke" "What kind?" "What kind of what?" "What kind of coke" "Coke" "Yeah, but what kind?" "Just coke" "What kind of coke do you want?" "Just a coke, that's it." "We got sprite, pepsi, mountain dew, now which one do you want?" "Oooohhhhh. Mountain Dew would be great." Hey Abbot! Who's on first? 'Nuff said. Wait, there were actually complaints about ERT? Dude, that's privilege, not a right.
  23. Does this mean Togos would stand as the water-boarding of the coaster world? The more I read of the Beemerboy administration, the more I like it's one track mentality and it's singular devotion not to rail on pointless topics. It's well stationed and a very solid platform.
  24. It's official: I've been blue-screened by Holiday World. These are some good hints that send one in any number of directions. I gave up 3 pages ago. Just looking forward to the 26th announcement and happy to see yet another new ride.
  25. Hang out with a chronic insomniac. They're bored out of their minds and don't mind company. or.... Read the glorious and thought provoking galavantings of TPR's A-List celebs.
