  1. ^ Post of the thread! Awesome!
  2. Ok, just for fun, on October 14-17 (the 3 days mentioned) I will go out after work and take pictures and video of the sky. Brandy, with your blessing, I'd like to post them here so we can see something AMAZING or have a good laugh. Sound good? Hey, why not? Could be fun.
  3. There are many things unexplained in the universe. How can we be the only sentient life in it? I believe in aliens, but there just isn't a good, solid way to prove their existance until they show up and have a frozen coke and buffalo wings with you.
  4. Maybe 3rd times the charm for the new Whale Space Time Portal next to Deja Vu. Definitely a fun and funny update to the goings on. Oh, and Robb, I Googled Gossemer, but I had to use the mouse. How quaint. Good stuff!
  5. ^ LOL! Settle for a Appalachian foothill ala Monte Sano Mountain? They can park and cloak at the picnic area and playground. Excellent call my friend! And thank you.
  6. Great line! Fun TR too. The drag part of the relay is a hoot and it's a good bet Terry will have something funny to say whenver he see's this one. Good stuff as always!
  7. As a "greta Big Mike Reader", I'm happy for you. It's comical thread and definately entertaining. Keep up the good work friend.
  8. Here are a few things learned with TPR and PTRs: 1. TPR in general is TOTALLY random. You may get lots of hits. You may get lots of responses. Sometimes both. Sometimes niether. 2. PTR's are a learned skill. It takes time. I'm still getting SOME of the basics down and I've been at it for a while now. 3. Sometimes you can try too hard to be funny. Yep, been there, done that. 4. Just have fun and your own style will evolve. Eventually you'll see certain folks comment on your PTR's over and over, kinda like friends or fans. 5. People have taken time out of their lives to read your thread. Whether they say so or not, they deserve a heartfelt thank you. 6. Including things that people like (Jahan + Frozen Cokes, Lou + Reflection Shots, etc...) says "Hey, I like you guys and like hanging out here enough to include you" in a round about way. Read enough PTRs and you'll get an idea of who likes what. 7. Just have fun with it. We're all friends here, and the time you take to put something up is ALWAYS appreciated by somebody. Trust me.
  9. Great TR! This is one park I definately want to visit whenever I get to Europe. That last shot is much appreciated too. Many thanks.
  10. That's a bummer. Had hoped to see this one and Star Trek The Experience if I ever got out to Vegas. Luxor too. Oh well...
  11. As Dave Thomas would so wisely say, "I'm in awe...." One of those hilarious goat pics was one fried twinkie away from becoming my avatar, but this quote will be in my sig VERY soon: Well done Tyler. Well done.
  12. Funny you mention that. There is an old story about some guy who was embalmed many years ago and was on display. Think his name was Speedy or similar. Later on Speedy dissappeared and by way of several pure chances and other places, wound up as a hanging decoration in a dark ride or fun house. Everybody thought he was just another prop, not a real dead guy. Once this was figured out, he was removed, IDed, and given a proper burial. Google it later if you want the particulars, but that's the gist of it.
  13. And PianoJohn FOR THE WIN! Great coverage. Between John and Tyler, I'm sold. Gotta see this in the next few years. Or...Wraith from Stargate Atlantis. Take your pick. What? What part of Nerd don't you understand.
  14. (sits back with Pepsi, aka Satan's Soda, and popcorn) This is waaaay better than UFC!
  15. Tried flowers and candy tonight. No luck.... Oy! Such a tease!
  16. Things to do before ET gets here... 1. Put out the "No Xenomorph" signs and load the flame units 2. Mix the Kool-Aid 3. Pack a suitcase 4. Wash my blue jumpsuit 5. Get those bothersome nads removed 6. Stock up on pudding 7. Shed the container... 8. Paint "Adios" on my pulse rifle 9. Fire up the Power Loader 10. Toss the "artificial person" out the airlock before he goes haywire at dinner or gets ripped in half for some odd reason 11. Hook up the old record player to the PA system and play head exploding old music 12. Bait the airlock trap with Reeses Pieces 13. Fix a blob-shaped Jello mold in the aliens' honor 14. Get on top of tall city building with a sign to properly welcome them 15. Inform President Christopher Walken 16. Make sure the Marines like the cornbread 17. Put the little blond haired girl with the doll's head in charge 18. Pray it's NOT Apoophus 19. Check if my symbiote is gone 20. Quickie with Starbuck 21. Scratch head over Zena being a toaster 22. Call Zed 23. Check with the old guys if the World's Fair sculptures still work 24. Help deliver a squid on the roadside 25. Go back in time and tell some other poor lady she just birthed a lizard 26. Get a blessing from Jeff Goldbloom's dad, then give the aliens a cold 27. Light a cigar when the fat lady sings, or the virus loads, one 28. Keep an eye out for Brain Slugs down there on the cold floor 29. Tell Elzar to pick out a good Spice Weasel 30. Seale all entrances and exits 31. Close all shops in the mall 32. Cancel the three-ring circus 33. Secure all animals in the zoo 34. Plan my marriage 35. Plot my wife's murder 36. Frame Guilder for it 37. Feel swamped. 38. Demand warp speed from Scotty while offering him Scotch 39. Note that Bones is a Doctor not whatever it is he's griping about this week 40. Say "Fascinating" while looking at a rotating cube on the front viewer 41. Scream "KHAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!" really loud (shirt ripping optional) 42. Ask around San Francisco for humpback whales and nuclear wessels 43. Dig the worm out of Checkov's ear 44. Help some random old lady regrow a kidney while rescueing Checkov 45. Practice my Vulcan Neck Pinch 46. Submit my application to Star Fleet 47. Date a girl with bobbed hair who's really a giant octopus 48. Stay away from the un-named crewmen 49. Order Number 1 to take a number 2 50. Skip the Romulan Ale at future social functions 51. Get back to the Nexus 52. Call Alex Rogan and ask how that Death Blossom works again 53. Hide the gravity boots and phasers used to kill the Klingon Ambassador 54. Go back in time to save Zephrum Cochran, the father of Warp Drive 55. Remember that not all aliens keep their genitals in the same place.
  17. Shame on me for not keeping up with this great thread. Thanks for posting all this stuff, especially the parts of Europe and The Statue of Liberty. Thank you too for the Rip Roaring Rapids shots here recently.
  18. Sad, eerie, and fascinating story. I bet there are a few legends and ghost stories that swirl around this one.
  19. Yes, they're definitely in trouble, but my gut has always said they'll be back, and with a rapids and water park for the second or third season. I wish them well.
  20. Insert all manner of Vekoma + Head Banging jokes here. Hmmm....the B&M Roar just took on a whole new meaning. Contemplate this next time you ride Dominator. And lastly, it's a good bet most of us on TPR are screamers. (I got a million of 'em..ha cha cha cha chaaaa....)
  21. Ladies and Gentlemen, the best post of the thread!
  22. This one looks a lot of fun, and the stilt-walking scaractors are pretty cool. Such a great park! Man I miss it! Thank you Chuck for putting this up.
  23. Considering some of the big churches around where I live, there are some deep pockets and colleciton plates that could support a park like that, BUT it would have to be yearly repeat business from the same well funded groups. I'm with you all. This has Powder Keg written all over it for many reasons. Also most interested in Ole South and Splash Valley.
  24. Hey, always good to see a fair. Thanks to you and whoever else posted fair TRs naming the orbiter flat. Had no idea what it was called, so thanks. Good report!
  25. Some great pics and sooo many good things in them! Spiders, Moon Rocket, Ring of Fire, Funnel Cake, Orient Express, Wacky Worm, and the Seattle Wheel is awesome. One of the night pics of the SW looked like a praying mantis. These would definately be worth the trip to Nashville next summer. Also, the ducky game pic was very funny. Enjoyed this one!
