  1. Matt, I knew you were into trains, but had nooo idea! Was cool to see this one. Kinda tough to see those steamers sitting out in the elements. Will keep an eye out for train stuff for you in future trips. Awesome! Glad you put it up.
  2. Hey! Good report and glad ya'll had a good time. Gonna try to get over there for fright fest this year. You did way better than I ever could on the ladder climb. That thing is tough!
  3. When did KD's Avalanche open open? 87? 88? Since then. Answer: Motion sickness and lack of interest until rediscovering parks in 2007. Yep, working on it. Yep, total credit count = 2. No, not kidding. Yes it's that sad. Yes you can laugh (if not already). Yes, that's why I'm TheRapidsNerd. Yes I should get a cat scan and/or check into Bellvue for talking to and answering myself..... As Terry would say "A mess!"
  4. ^ Thanks for reposting Jeff, as I 'm also a fan of Chinese dresses on ladies. (Beautiful!) Rich and his fries are a hoot. Gotten a good laugh out of those pics. Well, you adapt and do the best you can when the menu isn't very appealing. Know that all too well. Most entertaining!
  5. Very vivid, and very artsy/animation cell looking or graphic novel looking at times. They definately pop. Nice work.
  6. *sigh* (shakes head in dissapointment) No horse sense. (the good sense given the common horse).
  7. Wow! Hey, just hang in there. We'll all keep good thoughts for a good recovery. My next funnel cake credit will be in your honor. You'll be out and about at the parks again in no time.
  8. ^ You are correct friend, and that's about the last time I went (97?), when they still had the helicopter rides over the city. Interestingly, I keep hearing this is one of the better ghetto fairs. Very cool and who knew, eh? Redstone's Oktoberfest is this coming week and girlfriend and I plan to be there. Yay for beer, brauts, and rides! Depending on what pics I get, I'll probably just tack that onto this thread. We'll see. Thanks for the kind words.
  9. Forbidden City is just jaw dropping...and huge! Did anyone say what each building and throne were used for and why? Seems like a lot of excercise for the carriers, hiking from throne to throne with the emperor. Really fascinating. Yep, the second round of pics isn't showing just yet. Minor hiccup perhaps. Regardless, very cool to see what all is up. Well done.
  10. ^bobafett, you taught me something new. I'll have to try that next time. Thank you! LOL! Yeah, I couldn't resist a bit of descriptive humor there, but kudos to bobafett for a graceful sidestep. I'm still laughing at ElToroExtreme's new avatar pic. Awesome!
  11. Another great update and the JJ credit system never dissappoints. Man, some of those indoor rides really looked fun, even the tire drive spinner. Very cool! Great group pic. And dude with Coolie hat is most fortunate.
  12. Big Mike, Man you don't know how bad I wanted to come out to HRP and hang out, but time at work and other stuff just won't allow. Seems the storms are the final "No". If you think there's a time you'll be at Dollywood/Gatlinburg, SFKK, SFoG, Lake Winnie, or Visionland (Kidding), I'll do my best to be any of those places. Good luck with the travel plans and best to you.
  13. ^ No appologies necessary friend. As busy as the time of year is, it's hit or miss. No worries.
  14. Hey man, I'm enjoying this so thanks once again. China is a remarkable place I should definately visit some time. Oh, and one other thing... At a quick glance, it first looked like the sign said "Deadly World". Yes, double take ensued followed by cool point loss.
  15. Well put friend. And this on the heels of Canyon River Rapids, a credit I'll never get. Shame that.
  16. (shakes head) Oh the punishment.... I like the leopard shirt. If it was long sleeve, I'd wear it. Hmm...inside joke perhaps along the same lines of "Is that a real space shuttle?" Bet either one is a good story if anyone cares to tell. If not, no worries, eh? A Chuck TR is always a winner. 'Nuff said.
  17. It's all in the perspective friend. Seafood festivals rock, and I remember some good ones in Maryland. Don't get me started on peel and eat spiced shrimp.......Yum! Do they really smell of cabbage? I just thought it was an Austin Powers joke. It was firm in my mouth, but not too hard and tasted sweet with all the powdered sugar on it. It got kinda messy at the end and went all over my pants leg.
  18. This will be our first year there, and my second trip to Gatlinburg. Think it's gonna be great! How long does the Beech Bend thing run? That would make for a good adventure and help with park withdrawal. If you all will be in Pigeon Forge, and time permits, we should meet up. Me nor parental units are very familiar with HoliDolly. We'd be up there the wednesday before TG and leave that Sunday. Anyway, I've threadjacked this long enough. Thank you for not only a great Dollywood TR, but also the good Beech Bend info.
  19. Good TR friend. Sorry the day wasn't the best.
  20. I will never look at the Kiss Depositor the same way again. Ever. Not only was this another good TR, but it made me hungry enough to grab the box of remaining Esther Price chocolates given me by my folks tonight. Chuckled at the Twizzler and JR Icees too. They sound pretty good.
  21. Hey, always good to see another perspective on a trip. Will be interesting to see more of this one as time wears on. Thank you for taking time out of the business to put it up.
  22. Hey Guy, Thought of you tonight as our family started planning Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg. Verly likely we'll do Dollywood like you all did and the parents were very interested in the shows, particularly after I recounted your trip there. Mom is excited to go. Anyway, just wanted to say you were a good influence on what promises to be a great family trip this year. Enjoyed this TR as well.
  23. That one may wind up in the sig. More importantly, a cool start to the TR and looking forward to the rest.
  24. Some cool stuff so far. I dig the RCT3 style themed ticket booths...and the bathroom at the restaurant is most humerous. Who knew washing hands could be so.....invigorating? Know it's pretty busy over there, so thank you for taking time. It's definately appreciated.
  25. I still use plastic bags, however, I have entertained buying the reusables from Walmart. Thing is, I recycle the plastic bags as trash can liners, thus saving money and more plastic.
