All I can say is you missed out on epicness And for any of you who think an Enterprise is a stand up ride, see this -
Roughest coaster
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^As a classic lover, I can't belive you didn't like it! I'm a believer in the "just because its old doesn't mean its good" saying, but I rode in the front, and it was very good. My roughest coaster also was ridden on the Behemoth trip: Dragon Fire at CW. It looked so tame and had so much straight track and stuff, but it really just sucked. -
The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update

I've got to say that I've been enjoying reading these Behemoth trip updates, even though you're not to the point where I can actually remember anything yet! Sad to see the Enterprise at Darien Lake, the only ride of its kind in the world, not making the update, but it definitely will make my TR whenever I find time to write it. I was able to convice a few TPR members to join me in my Enterprise obsession that day! I see I'm not the only one who has ever been denied of Rye's Wild Mouse! I didn't even try to ride the kiddie after that. Glad to see the east coast trip is going smoothly, and I am really missing all the TPR madness. -
I have to say that the 10 person "takeover" of CW's waterpark was fun. But it was fairly cold for a guy 500 miles north of his home. Canada's Wonderland was a good park, but it was such a long and tiring day!

I like poker a lot, but hardly have the time to play it any more. I play texas hold em home games, and occasionally will play 5 or 7 card stud. I play pot limit hold em on PS2 some times. One game is enough for me though, I'll stick to No Limit for most of my fun. Can't wait till I'm 21 and can play legally, or when I get to Europe and can play now!

Photo Trip Report(s): Behemoth/ Ravine Flyer II Tour!
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to ms13's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This is most definitely the truth. Yea, this log flume wasn't quite as insane as the one from the next day, can't wait for that update. Seabreeze was fun, someone said it was completely a parking lot park, but it was just so fun because it was most people's first ever TPR park experience. -

I'm bummed that I only got to experience the "nameless rap song" Caterpillar and not the Tainted Love version. That would have seriously rocked. -

This trip really surpased all my expectations. I know it was a very small trip, but it really was the best vacation of my life. I think I really got a good idea of the "TPR Experience" from the past six days. Had a great time and met some great people, and can't wait till next year! Everything was great, especially the best sauce-based, family theme park in the world. -
What countries have you been to?

USA and USA. That will change next week, when I finally cross the great Canadian line for the first time, above the wheels of a TPR bus!!! -

In my opinion, this is far from confirmed, and comparing it to a Giant Frisbee addition is foolish. The only thing a Giant Frisbee has in common with these three flats is that they are flats. These are used flat rides the company already owns. I could almost guarantee that ANY new frisbee, giant or not, would cost far more than this would. And, going back to 2007, if this were to go through KD would have gotten 7 new attractions in 3 years. Rapid expansion, even if most people agree CV is watering the place down.

So I'm going to Carowinds for the first time on Thursday, and I think it is about time to buy tickets!! I don't have a Cedar Fair Pass, so I'll need to get an individual day ticket. On-line, if I buy them 3 days in advance, they cost $36. Anyone know of any place somewhere between southern Maryland and Charlotte where they are cheaper? Thanks

The Official "TPR Europe Trip 2008" Thread!
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Yea, the first thing that came to my mind was a zipper when I heard El Toro, but whatever....... ^^That is why I think I would actually like Colossos more than El Toro. My main complaint with El Toro is that I really only feel there are 4 extreme airtime hills, and the rest are either hardly noticable or non-existant as far as airtime. Still, a fantastic ride, but I really need to get to Heide Park at some point to compare------well, make that Liseburg and Everland too! I just noticed something. Intamin only seems to build pre-fab. woodens at REALLY good parks -
Europa Park Discussion Thread
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Got to admit, that was pretty good for a 12-year-old. I think you may have been the first one to mention aquatrax. Anyway, I always knew Mack owned Europa park, but never new they built all but one of their coasters. Is this the only amusement park owned by a manufacturing company? -
Tell him you are a freakin' coaster enthusiast and need your credits damnit!!!!!!!! No, I would just tell him to go somewhere close, new, and with a pair of great coasters. Tell him Superman and Wild One have a little thing called airtime, which is a forbidden word at the Dominion Also, show him pics of the place. The waterpark looks (and is) awesome after the 2005(?) Hurricane Harbor makeover. Superman looks great in pics and Jokers Jinx makes most GP cringe. I would volunteer to meet up with you, but I should be in North Carolina at Carowinds that day

I've been to the Burgh twice and Kennywood once, and I really liked both! I only got to see Kennywood during the Halloween event, so I've never seen it in day time. Hope to get back this September. -
Six Flags Great America PhotoTR
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to Paul Arthur's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
What do you want Six Flags marketers to do? Market the ride less, because it isn't a new top-ten coaster? I'm not sure how similar the one is at Great Adventure to this one, but I think the tehmeing actually was better after that preshow, which was, IMO, very boring. The themeing on the ride portion itself was decent. I don't know what more people can expect from a WILD MOUSE. The one at SFGAd didn't have much braking either. The darkness enhances the speed and makes directional and even elevation changes very hard to see coming. I would agree though, that I like BTR's themeing better than BDK's. -

PTR Tusenfryd trip 20080620
Wood Dragon 1988 replied to Loefet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks a lot for the response Loefet! I will assume from that statement, that you are a lot like me, in that you would prefer a smooth ride, but certainly don't mind a little "airtime with a price" every now and then. The GP probably isn't like us in many ways, and neither are a lot of coaster enthusiasts for that matter. Parks I guess are smart for doing this sometimes, although it makes me cringe a bit at least. So, would you say that the improvements have smoothed the ride out, making it more "bearable" and enjoyable for all those wimps who like their body to remain in one place throughout the entire ride? Also, is there still ANY airtime to be had at all on it? I see you mentioned one hill is now airtimeless, but is there still a little at least??
