  1. I am wathing Leno for the first time in years right now.....
  2. More Yep, what a great institution. I have to see that every time I enter the building. Great on-campus housing, Frostburg!!! Thanks for reading.......more to come later. Ahhh, "bak" at my home at the uni! Broken down fence, where could I be now? Emphasis on the "old" Other old school stuff to see down there. Back on top of the mountain. Ah, finally the trail. A bit too dark, but I hope you enjoy the pics. Yea, so the Allegheny Highlands Trail is this bike path that, when completed, will connect Cumberland, Maryland (an old town in Western Maryland) to Pittsburgh, PA (which is, well Pittsburg!!). It is about 2 hours by car from Pitt to Cumberland, so quite a long way by foot/bike. Also, the C&O Canal bike trail connects Cumberland to Georgetown, so you can now ride from DC to Pittsburgh!
  3. Hello everyone. I decided to go on a walk the other day, and take some photos of the "beautiful" western Maryland. So, I ended up taking a few more photos than just the walk, and when I ended up getting to "the woods," the sun was almost down and the pics didn't turn out right.......anyway I will be updating this thread soon, when the leaves look better and I get my lazy ass out before it gets too dark. Anyway hope someone enjoys this.....I should have fun writing it at least. The path of death! So, you can get down/up the mountain via wheel chair path or... Almost to the official "Walk in the Woods" but not yet! Lots of old stuff at Frostburg. Quite a bit of steps to walk back up! Yea, that was the circular railroad thingy at eye level. Yea, Main Street/Business District, quite ghetto actually, it is nicer down the mountain. I really don't know what this circular railroad thing was, but I was so......amused by it! Maybe it is the coaster geek in me thinking it is a "transfer track" or something. Yea, the sun was already setting when I got there. To get to the Allegheny Highlands Trail (where I am going), you have to either walk down a bunch of steps or walk down a mountain. Discover Frostburg.....before ANYONE does. All right, back to the car. Yeah, Frostburg is quite the metropolis. I have to admit, the treadmills are pretty spiffy though! The cardio area. Notice how all the gym members where cloaking devices. An overview of the boxing area. One of the many suck-ass qualities of the gym are some of the lights are very hard to find A little boxing...... First stop though, was a little trip to the 24-hour-gym......my favorite part of my college town! Also, I just so happened to be wearing an IJTC shirt that day.....dork!!! If anyone guessed the coaster formerly known as "Italian Job Turbo Coaster," you are correct! First though, I had to park my car in the super-crowded Main Street Parking Garage (either that or pay a parking meter and attempt to parallel park....I'll take option one) Can anyone guess what roller coaster this reminds me of? Welcome to Frostburg, Maryland. Home to a bunch of old people, and a bunch of college students.......its a funny mix.
  4. I've done this for a couple years, but probably won't this year, because I'm off at school. Maybe I will haunt my dorm room. This may not look like much, but it was all bought from a grocery-store clerks budget. The best part was definitely the strobe lights, fog machine, and music. With the lights on. I carved that.....one of my greatest artistical works by far. Out at the mailbox. lol...you can barely even see the skull and headstones I probably payed $10 for. Night shot. I stole the toilet paper idea from Kennywood Themed entrance Cheap decorations - gotta love them!
  5. The day Superstar94 is talking about was an attendance record for the park, and there is an entire thread about it. It is not a normal occurance. The park would not expand its entrance to cater for a once-a-year (or once a decade) event.
  6. Nice pics of Clementon, despite the bad lighting.....from what I hear, it is hard to make that park look good
  7. HHN looks great, but none for me again this yer At least I will be going to Kennywoods very soon, which is the best Haloween event I've been to. It should be more fun the second time!
  8. Sorry, I didn't know this was an anti-sarcasm forum. Hence the
  9. ^Because that's exactly what I was getting at!
  10. ^Funny things can be said at Cedar Fair Q&A sessions. Ask any seasoned poster on the East Coast/Canada TPR trips about that. Anyway, I still find the quote funny, but whatever. If you all want to believe Cedar Fair is enamored by KD compared to what else is in the chain and in the world, that's fine with me.
  11. Wow.....that is just amazing! How in the world have you arrived at this conclusion?
  12. I don't think I've looked at this thread once in the year and a half I've been here! Wow........big thread!!!!
  13. Amazing video...of my favorite coaster! Great lyrics, great footage, great song, I loved it!
  14. It is a picture of me, on a TPR trip. Pretty simple.
  15. But seriously, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason at this time to believe some sort of B&M will come to KD in 2010. There has been no weird construction/destruction, no news on Screamscape, and they have added four "adult" rides in 2008-2009. I don't know why everyone is sold the park is going to add something.
  16. I really don't know what to make of this topic. I would like to talk about KD, I've been there more than any other park in my lifetime. However, when this thread basically consists of locals stating what they think would make KD perfect in there minds, AND blatantly ignoring that KD just got a great coaster this year, and has been rapidly expanding ever since CF bought the park, I really can't say much I guess. I say, be happy with the park: they don't NEED anything, other than a better staff and a revitalized atmosphere, something the park used to thrive on but now has kind of lost. In my local area, KD is still KD, and people love it, but if they don't fix the service and the "overall experience" factor, I think they will loose their reputation fast. I really think ANYTHING: B&M hyper, Intamin hyper, Intamin pre-fab would be a welcomed addition. I mean, the park has like 13 coasters, many of them pretty good, and 2 new coaters over the past 3 years. It is not like their need is urgent. But anything with some actual airtime (I think Hurler has the most airtime in the park, which is sad) would be good.
  17. I haven't heard of any rumors, but big US parks like things bigger, bader, fatter, but not always "better" unfortunitely. It doesn't look like a concept a lot of US parks would want. However, I think one would fit in perfectly at Knoebels.
  18. With no tricks, you can buy one at SFA for $49. Craziness really. SFI is still "giving away" season passes.
  19. You know, I may actually have. However, it was my 13th credit at CW, after, what FOURTEEN HOURS at the park! After all of their.......ahem.....shaky coasters, I really don't know if I cared at that point! But honestly, I don't know why wooden coasters don't bother me more than rough steel coasters. I can't stand most Arrows or Vekomas with shoulder-crushing OTSRs, but I actually like Hurler, SFNE's Cyclone, and Astroland's Cyclone, and didn't mind Predator, Mind Buster, and Wild Beast...oh well, at least I do hate SFA's Roar.
  20. Not like I will be flying over to ride it within the next month, but there is a good chance I will be riding whatever replaces it! I never like to see things like this go, especially at a park with so much expansion room. Coasters throughout different generations really give a park some character. It is something that new parks simply can't "create." Even if a park like IOA, Port Aventura, Parque Warner, DCA or any "new" park tries to recreate an old ride, it is not simply the same as a ride that has seen the days gone by its own park. Kind of like Shockwave at my local park Kings Dominion. Whenever I think of that ride I think of mid-80s, gimmicky stuff, yet a popular ride right below the Eiffel Tower. If/when it goes something will be missing.
  21. Amazing camera work Robb, that has got to be one of my favorite coaster videos ever! T-Express looks simply amazing, easily the best looking modern coaster in the world. One day, one day I'll ride it........
  22. Amazing content as always! Looking forward to another batch of updates. There is one thing I don't understand. It says Sooperdooperlooper was built by "Intamin AG of Switzerland." I guess I'm just a youngin' who doesn't understand Intamin's relationship with Schwarzkopf, but can someone explain this for me? Thanks.
  23. Sorry, not to be rude, but I'm a bit confused. Does the site........um......exist yet?
  24. Really good TR. Morey's is one of the only parks I haven't done on the tour, and it looks so massive for a seaside park. I have to go their one day!
  25. I really like the red and green look to the mega lite. Much better colors than Piraten IMO.
