  1. I actually liked this park. It felt classic, kind of like all those "neighborhood" parks we always here about from the "golden age." This one just happened to survive. I went their early, before it got rowdy though.
  2. ^Wow, Great Adventure is the second best parks in terms of capacity I've been to besides Cedar Point. On both my visits they were running 2 or 3 trains for everything they could! My pet peeves are: 1. STAPLING!! (Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland, others) 2. Line Jumpers (SFA, KD, others) 3. Dirty Bathrooms (Waldameer, SFA, Knoebels, others)
  3. No, that's a little too far west. I'm thinking the "Mid America Trip" would be flying in/out of Chicago and doing a circle that would include: - Indiana Beach - Holiday World - Six Flags St. Louis - Silver Dollar City - Worlds of Fun - Adventureland - Arnold's Park - Valley Fair - Mall of America - Wisconsin Dells - SFGAm That's already a good 10 day trip at least with some awesome parks! --Robb Sounds like a great trip for me....Chicago is in driving distance, and I haven't been to any of those parks!! I really hope this trip happens. As for UK, I have to agree with Mike...though I'm sure the trip will be great.
  4. 1. T Express 2. Balder 3. Coaster in Vancouver 4. A Mega Lite 5. Exp. Ge Force 6. Colossos 7. Cornball Express 8. Goliath Walibi 9. Goliath La Ronde If I ride those, I can die.
  5. This was a really fun ride. I took some of my family to Knoebels last year, and HSTC was four of my cousins' first roller coaster. It is sad to see it go. The picture of it in the snow looks pretty though!
  6. Just wondering how the operations at Fuji-Q stack up with those at SFA.... I'm also clueless as to why Fuji-Q seems to always be one of the most crowded parks in Japan....it seems like only the Disney Parks and Fuji-Q have actual people on coasters in TPR's updates.
  7. Really? Griffon's light blue looks much different to me. I like it just for a change I guess. The green was really fading, but I was surprised how smooth the ride was last year. Can't wait to go back to Great Adventure next year!
  8. I guess I am a big sucker for boxed mice. Exterminator at Kennywood was great (although I rode the pitch black version at Fright Nights). Exterminator utilizes what is otherwise one of my least favorite coaster models ever. I actually thought Dark Night was well enhanced by the box. Much more fun than a traditional Mack Mouse, and the themeing was "good for Six Flags."
  9. LZ is a "no-big-deal ride?" It would be the largest coaster in the park by miles.
  10. It depends if you like water parks and have the time. There is nothing bad about it, but it's not like its world class.
  11. If you are not doing the waterpark, I think you could easily do Waldameer in 3 hours. I don't think I could stand more than one day at Cedar Point, but that's just because I don't like the park and the vibe all of the GP there seem to give off. They basically all seem to think they know every single fact on RCDB if you know what I mean. But anyway, you should plan on spending two days there IF you want all of the credits. The lines can be bad.
  12. This is good news. Smallish coasters have been on the GG website for years, it is about time one of these gets built! I don't know much about Quassy, having byepassed it for Rye Playland when I was up that way, but I do know that it is a tiny park. Something like this is the PERFECT fit, especially for me considering I love wooden coasters. This gives me reason to go back to New England again, to pick up the three Quassy credits, and to ride Purple SROS and Dash!
  13. Also, I would think Knoebels is about 2-2.5 hours from Baltimore. Great park there, everything a true American park should be!
  14. It is not too bad in southern Maryland right now. It was in the 40s today but I didn't need a jacket for my quarter mile walk out of my car to my office today. There is a winter storm watch though. I love DC area weathermen.
  15. Another great TR of that amazing trip! I still can't believe I actually went to 9 different parks and rode like 40 new coasters in just 5 days! "Coaster Hangover" is exactly right at Marineland! I remember only riding Dragon Mountain three time and then just sitting there talking till ERT was over. And then I basically pointlessly meandered around the rest of the park all morning eating french fries and buying souvenirs lol. Also great pics of Ravine Flyer II....I guess you took those from the train.
  16. I had a great year. Got a new job that paid well. Worked two jobs over the summer and made a lot of money. Graduated with an associate degree. Started at a 4-year college and had the best time of my life. Got a 4.0 GPA taking 19 credits in the spring and a 3.6 GPA taking 15 credits in the fall. Went on a TPR trip. Bought a car. Rode 98 new roller coasters. Joined a new church which I actually like. Picked up a new sport (boxing) Overall really really good. Worst thing was I gained 15 pounds, which would be okay, but not if I want to do any real boxing any time soon!
  17. Joking aside, every B&M hyper I've seen makes that sound. Have no idea what it is though.
  18. Probably Wisp Resort and the Alpine Coaster....it is only a half hour away and open year round....however, I have been saying I would go there for a while and have failed. If not, probably Knoebels, Morey's Piers, or SFGAd.
  19. Two come to mind: ERT on Ravine Flyer II during the storm of death. Riding Phoenix in the rain!
  20. Great update. Big Boom looks really really good for a 20 plus year old steel coaster.
  21. ^Been wondering about Superman Escape. I watched the POV video today on TPR TV after watching to Scooby one. It seemed a bit short and even slow? It must be good though with its ranking I guess.
  22. Okay, I totally don't know you or your athletic achievements/abilities, but coming from someone who ran track for five years, it is VERY hard to "break the fastest time at my school" for a track team you apparently haven't joined. I have one resolution: Don't waste as much money. A big part of this will be scaling back on coaster trips. Last year it was go any time I got off work, this year I will have a limit on how much I will spend
  23. Great TR so far. Can't wait for the Behemoth/RFII trip pics! I went to CP for the first time in 2008 too! However, it wasn't exactly my dream come true, because the lines were crazy long. My fault for going on a Saturday I guess, but at least I got to go!
