  1. Cool pics. The park looks kind of similar to how it looks now. Sure it looks kind of empty, but same theme, landscaping, rides, etc.
  2. Yea, from an enthusiasts point of view the rides are nothing special. But for Richmond/DC locals the place is awesome. I've been on several church/school trips to the park, and everyone loved the place. If it wasn't for the amazing time I had on these trips as a kid/young teen I probably wouldn't be an enthusiast now. Much like how the locals at Carowinds seem to love the place. I spent four hours there, got the credits, thought it was kind of lame, and left. The former Paramount Parks never really tried to be destination parks. But if you look at their history (I know at least KD's), they've added a new attraction EVERY YEAR of their history. They've developed a solid local fanbase and that fanbase hasn't given up on the park (at least not yet). Oh yea, and Drop Towers capacity is very lame. I don't understand the point of building that, when they could have built a simple Giant Drop for much less cost I would think.
  3. I watched The Longest Yard (Adam Sandler version) yesterday. It instantly became my favorite movie ever. 10/10
  4. The Office is pretty much the only show I watch on TV right now. I sure hope there's a new episode tomorrow, it's been a while.
  5. It is 13 degrees right now. I'm just praying it hits 30 tomorrow.
  6. I've been going to KD for a long time. I don't like the place too much, but I have never heard worse reports than the one's I've heard from the TPR trip. I know I need a sense of humor to read this site, but I don't know if people are just spoiled, or trying to be really funny with regards to a lot the mediocre parks on the trip. Or did they really loathe these parks this much? The East Coast has some GREAT stuff (Kneobels, Hershey, Busch, etc). But it seems like people are trying to be so darn critical of places. It's easy to say that KD has mediocre and bad coasters, but they also have rides like Dominator, Volcano, and Drop Zone, that almost everyone enjoys at least some what. Just like how Canada's Wonderland has a lot of bad stuff, but people are quick to point out Behemoth and Vortex that make the park worthwhile. Personally, I couldn't imagine myself not having a great time at KD with an hour of ERT on two coasters and TPR to hang out with. Yea I would have skipped the bad stuff, but whatever. 7. I can't wait until this happens! Spring can't come soon enough!
  8. ^^And SFA's Roar too obviously. Are there any other rides besides Thundercoaster where people feel the GCI modifications have hurt the ride?
  9. Only the Good Die Young (Live)- Billy Joel Truly Genius!
  10. ^The south is where it's at, but at least I don't live in Ocean City.
  11. Tyler kind of looks like a ghost when topless. Kind of like Gollum as well.
  12. ^Yea I got it at Kohl's. As you can see it's not my size, but it was only $7 and the last one. I couldn't resist! ^^If you go there, make sure you try the "fry bread" stuff one of the vendors sells. It was like funnel cake only much better. That's my best memories from that park.
  13. They tend to advertise their trips quite well, so if you check the site frequently, I'm sure you will hear about it. And anyway, I'm extremely interested in a Pacific Northwest trip. They have some nice looking out-of-the-way parks, and I've heard its a nice area of the country too.
  14. Where is Galaxy Bar and Grille? The food looks awesome!
  15. No homo, but I've always have had a thing for coasters. I rode the wooden coasters at Kings Dominion when in 97 when I was 8. After that, I remember I would always ask my dad about coasters, such as when they opened, and how tall they were. I didn't ride any "huge" coasters until 2001 when I rode Volcano. After that, I always liked them, but it wasn't until 2005 when my coaster-hating sister got to go to Kings Dominion for a church event that my interest became an obsession. I remember arguing about something, and reading the map she got. Then I got on line, started Googling stuff to find sites, etc. I didn't ride a coaster again until July 2006, about a year after I started going on coaster sites! So basically, I blame Kings Dominion and my sister who hates roller coasters for starting my coaster obsession! I no longer go to Kings Dominion and my sister still does. Go figure. That's my story, I don't know if it makes since.
  16. Don't think I've ever posted here so: Here's me feeling good one night lol (and looking horrible). Here's me a couple years ago at the Four Corners Park in the middel of the desert.
