  1. El Toro is about the same height, and I have to say that it's not tame, I rank it similar as Troy... Nice to see that they have completed much of the layout of the coaster, more or less only the bit around the station that is missing now.
  2. YAY more news, I guess I have to bring my nephews there to get to ride some of them I had a look at the Liseberg map on their site and it looks like the "Flying Elephants" will be located where Rainbow used to be. ^ I completely agree with you on your Liseberg, Gröna Lund comparison. Even though Gröna Lund have had a decent amount of rides for kids. Liseberg on the other hand have removed a lot more of their "Thrilling" rides in the past year, and not added anything in their place... Also seeing that they haven't added anything to the spot where Aerovarvet/Kulingen used to be gives me hope that there might be something going there for 2011...
  3. B&M actually had a seatbelt on the early Megacoasters, atleast Silver Star and Nitro have had them. They worked by having a ring attached to a wire that came put from one of the armrests which you hitched on to a little peg on the side of the restraint bit. I guess that they were removed due to that they weren't really necessary and take a bit of time to check + plus that they didn't fasten properly (pretty loose connection). Check the image and text on: http://www.coastergallery.com/1999/GA67.html for more info...
  4. 15/20... Completely failed on the first sets of questions, but the last ones were easier...
  5. Liseberg had loads of advertisement in Stockholm on the tram stations on the way to Gröna Lund last year. They said something like "If you want to experience a real roller coaster come to Liseberg" The last time there were a great "Coaster War" in Sweden was in the late 80's when Lisebergbanan, Jet-Line and Stand Up were built, I really hope that something similar will take place in the upcoming 5 years, especially with both Liseberg and Gröna Lund have big expansion projects in the works and with the "new" owners of Skara Sommarland then you never know what they will add to the mix. The rivalry between Liseberg and Gröna Lund have it' roots in the rivalry that always have been between Gothenburg and Stockholm, just ask anyone in Gothenburg what they think about Stockholm or vice versa...
  6. No I haven't seen/read anything about where they are going to place it, the map on their website is still the one for last season But there aren't that many places where they can fit it
  7. Credit whores rejoice!! there is yet another reason why you need to get to Gröna Lund this year, they are going to open yet another coaster!! It's called "Tuff-Tuff Tåget" (Choo-Choo Train) and will be the smallest coaster they have there (even though it's actually 1 meter longer than Nyckelpigan (Tivoli Small)). Source: Gröna Lund [swedish] And to quote the Attraction Manager of Görna Lund about this new coaster "It feels really great that we now have six roller coasters, 50% more than Liseberg" Wonder if this will make Gröna Lund the park with most coasters/m2 (they have 6 in 35000 m2)??
  8. I think that the "other" news that Lalle555 will be the new observation wheel that will be built in Liseberg harbour. It will also (hopefully) be ready at the same time as the park opens for 2010. It was initially supposed to be a leased wheel, but since they had a lot of trouble with the locals they weren't able to put it up for last summer as they have hoped, the owned leased the wheel to Mexico instead. Liseberg found a quick solution to this, they bought a brand new identical wheel instead and it's due to be delivered in the next 2 weeks, and will be erected shortly after that (it's this part that makes me sceptical to see any new rides in the park). After the 2 year building permit they have on the site at the harbour they will move it to the Liseberg park, it's not known if they will replace the old wheel or have it located on a different place in the park... 9. But am I right to say that the most of you had either jackets or sweaters on you? Riding it with nothing more than a T-shirt which leaves your neck exposed is less comfortable. But it all come down to how much "head banging" (or neck slashing in this case) there is on the ride...
  10. ^ I'm pretty sure that all points towards that the Yellow B&M track will be going to Ocean Park and their grand expansion...
  11. I have a bit of a question, is there a way so that the forum marks every topic as "read" every time you exit the browser (like it did before), so that you know exactly what have been posted since the last time you visited the forum? Yes, I know that there is a "Mark forum read" button, but I'm lazy and forget to push it daily... Other then that I say, Great work with the TPR forum overhaul!!
  12. Have they opened up the coasters? If not then then it's just part of the testing...
  13. If you are lucky then China Might have finished of much of their high speed rail network, so it might be a bit easier to get around
  14. Wonder if this will be an Eejanaika clone, or a completely different design?? Great to hear that it finally have been officially announced, since I have herd rumours about one for a while now...
  15. The idea is great, we just need to hope that they implement it in a great way though. If anyone is interested then there is a great thread with lot of images and information over at Skyskrapercity.com, Clicky
  16. This have already been discussed in the Liseberg 2010 thread a bit down on the page... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=854131#p854131 Still think it's a pretty decent idea, the absolutely best thing about it is that Season Pass holders can't get them, which makes this a very fair deal... But then again, if you avoid the days high season (aka July-August) then you won't need them, I mean 15 minutes queues are not a big deal
  17. Sorry to say that you got you Chinese mixed up with Japanese. The Japanese people can't say the letter 'L' it becomes more of an 'R' sound to it, which is why it's called Engrish in the first place Meaning that you really have to change the sign for the Rocker... Go to http://www.engrish.com and you will see lot of other fun stuff to interoperate in your park Looks really great though, can't wait to see more...
  18. According to the picture that were posted I would guess on something like: Something like this...
  19. ^^ Ever herd of fan subbing?? Anime should be watched with Japanese voices, everything works better that way Another image fresh of NL, supporting is done!!
  20. ^ Thanks for that!! I still don't think that there will be any new "bigger" ride at Liseberg this year... Next year on the other hand is way more likely, especially since Mats is quitting. I have a feeling that he want to exit with a bang so to say...
  21. ^ Where did you see that this is the Biggest news this year?? I doubt that we will see any big attraction this year... Here is something I wrote up about the Quick Pass: Liseberg have released their take on the "beat the queue" system... The theory of it is that when you pre-order your wristband on their website, you will be given the option to book your Quick Passes on the 5 attractions that are connected to the system. Well in the park you just have to show up at the designated timeslot and enter the ride through a separate queue. There is a limited number of Quick Passes on each attraction/day and they are available on a first come basis and that they are offered for free to anyone that pre-orders their wristbands... Looks like you can get 5 Quick passes on each visit (I guess one/attraction), people with Gold-passes (season pass with Entry and Wristband) won't get them (which is kind of a good thing). Anyway the attractions that are connected to this system are: Balder Lisebergbanan Kanonen FlumeRide Kållerado What are your views on this?? In Swedish Press release: Slutköat på Liseberg - Quick Pass är här! - Liseberg Quick-pass FAQ: Quick Pass - Liseberg And again in "bad" English from Google: Press release FAQ
  22. ^ Nope it's just the "Edge detect" filter in Paint.NET... I only do it since I don't have added any textures to the objects, and that it would look way to boring if I didn't "spice" it up a bit. But thanks anyway
  23. hehe. We posted the same thing at exactly the same time Didn't Zierer manufacture most of the late Schwarzkopf coasters? Yeah. Zierer, BHS, Maurer Söhne, etc. made the last few Schwarzkopf designed coasters after his own company went bust...
