^ I doubt that it pulled over 3 g's for 30 seconds. Also it isn't a "static" force that you experience on a Helix, it's way more dynamic since it rotates in several dimensions. It will produce a lot of lateral forces, most likely around 1-3 g's on every rotation (3 closest to the ground and 1 at the top) then the main rotation of the whole ride will most likely produce around 1-2 g's vertically due to the centripetal force. Sure the resultant force vector will be over 3 g's at times, but not for 30 seconds straight... The graph I posted above is only valid for positive vertical g's. A human can withstand lateral/acceleration forces way better since the distance the blood will flow due to it is much less and it will still be spread out throughout your body, not drawn to your feet or head which is really dangerous.

^ Then have a read on the page I linked in that case.

^ No, if you were talking about the bottom of the first drop then I would believe you, on a helix? Not a chance... This is a common misconception, it's not only the amount of force that is exerted on you, but also the time that you are influenced by that force, that cause you to black out and eventually die. The shorter time the more force is required, and it works the other way around as well, the longer you experience it the lower the force have to be. A bottom of a hill passes pretty quickly which allow designers to design rides that have forces that exceeds 4.5-5 g's, on a helix on the other hand which take several seconds to ride through requires a lot lower force for people not to black out. And by the sound of Titan/Goliath (and original I305) then these are at the limit of what people are able to endure. Still no 4+ g's that people believe they have but more likely less than 3 g's. There is a pretty good graph on Nolimits-Exhange that shows the maximum force vs. duration it's exerted, which gives you a picture on what kind of maximum forces you would experience on a ride. Just time the length of the helix an look it up in the graph, and it will tell you the maximum allowed force for that duration. Source of this graph is an article called "G-Force Lesson" at Nolimits-Exchange.com Unfortunately neither me nor my brother haven't been to either of the parks with one of our accelerometers to get a log of it, but it's on our want list though.

Meisho if I may. But it wasn't all their fault. The main problem was that Fuji-Q only wanted one lift motor. If it had one for each spike like a Vekoma Boomerang then it would have been fine. To add to the list: Lisebergbanan - Liseberg Tranan - Skara Sommarland Zola 7 - Fuji-Q -

More 2012 news: Gothenburg wheel relocation: They are progressing nicely with the foundations. This image is since early January, no idea on how much they have completed since then, not sure on the status of the disassembly of the wheel where it have been located for the past 2 years. JukeBox replacement: The Wieland Schwarzkopf made JukeBox is being replaced for a brand new one, mainly due to rising maintenance costs and a general wear on the ride. It's a pretty popular ride so they have decided to replace it with a similar one, but with completely revamped theming, the whole area around it will also get a big facelift. Main entrance replacement: Due to large crowds outside the main entrance before the park opens for each day, Liseberg have decided to redo the area outside the main entrance to easier handle the crowds so that the traffic on the road in front of the entrance won't be as affected as it can be today when the crowds get heavy. Little is known at the time, but it seems like they are increasing the size of the plaza outside the entrance and they have confirmed that they will have space for 18 cashiers, compared to the 8 they have today. This whole fence area will be removed Making space inside the park Sources: Liseberg Facebook-page Liseberg FB - Gothenburg wheel gallery Liseberg FB - JukeBox replacement gallery Liseberg FB - Main entrance replacement gallery -

Perfect placement of the new wheel, hopefully they will add some special entrance so that they could run it year-round to make even more money. I have a feeling that the old wheel will only stay one more season, there is loads of space if they remove it for more or less anything. They could easily fit a pretty decent size coaster on top of the mountain at it's location. -
Crossbow at Bowcraft Playland which in my view is the same kind of model as Verbolten (Zierer ECS), and it allows for 42" children to come along with an adult, so it shouldn't really be a problem to do that, maybe they feel like it's going to be too "scary" for such young children to come along.I'm also pretty sure that Wicked also have the same seating/restraint system and they allow from 46"... So the restraints can easily cope with smaller children, so we have to wait and see if there might be a change until opening...

^ Have you unpacked the file with the Track Packager?? There is some issue here on TPR where half the file names are missing, add ".nlpack" (I guess that you might have added .nltrack and tried to open it in the editor but it won't work) to the end and run it through the Track packager an then it could be sorted... Or you can try and download it from MediaFire instead: CLICK For you all that is waiting for the POV, well here it is!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqCd0eAWkKU -
Pretty nice, a bit boring with all those straight hills though... It have 1 too many trains and it should have ended at the small overbank, instead of continuing onto all those extra hills...

Nice video!! Just one question, is it as bad as it were back in 2007?? Seems like they have done something to it, since they allow people to ride in the back half of the train now... -

I thought that you were going to do this trip as usual in September... Still really jealous of all you guys having a blast in Japan, shame though that you managed to go during the rainy season (mid June-mid July) though, I just hope that you don't have to worry too much about rain... -

English, which isn't a problem here in Sweden, my brother didn't really notice it until we talked about it and I said that it was in English. I'm really happy that they used the English version since the translations usually sounds like crap... It's a really small one though, only 16 or so seats... -

Got home not long ago, and I have to say that Atmosfear really delivered and I can't wait to get back during the summer to get the full experience. We arrived just in time for the press day to begin, after being checked of the list by some Liseberg personnel we were escorted by some Green Liseberg Rabbits up to the top of the mountain to the main event. First they had the normal introductions and quickly talked about the other new things for Liseberg before continuing on to Atmosfear. Other news for this year: The park have become smoke free, except for designated smoking areas (9 of them) and a couple of restaurants outside sections. They are now offering "Pentathlon hosts" where a Liseberg employee goes with your group and keep tracks on scores etc. when doing a pentathlon with your friends/company/etc. among the games that Liseberg have. Liseberg have also opened a new game section next to the entrance to Atmosfear, where they have some Terminator games and other shoot em up ones. But next to them there is a "Desperado" one (the 5D kind where you sit on horses and shoot stuff)... They introduced the new CEO Andreas Andersen which talked a bit about Atmosfear and said that this conversion were something that Liseberg have been looking into for some time now, that parks in Sweden have invested close to 1 billion SEK (112 million EUR, 100 million GBP, 163 millions USD) on new rides which is a record. He also said that he got the great privilege as the new CE to be the first rider on Atmosfear and as he put it "to see if it was safe to let anyone else on it" I also chatted a bit with the attraction manager at Liseberg and the one that have put together the whole concept behind Atmosfear about the questions that have surfaced here on the forums before this press day and other things. The Questions: Why doesn't it spin? Liseberg didn't see any big difference in spinning the car or not when they test rode Scream before the conversion, they even think that it could be an advantage not to spin the car as other do. Why would that be? Less things to brake down, each sides gives slightly different experiences, make riders go several times just to experience the different views, etc... Why does it stop so early (as seen in test videos)? It do stop a bit early (in my view) but that could change as they open up for business and the temperature goes up this summer. The main reasons why it stopped so early in those videos are: it's brand new (needs some time to brake in), cold days, low/no load in the car, and they only ran it once or twice that day. There was a big difference between the first ride today and the ones later after it have been running with full load a few times since the mangetic brakes fades because of the build-up of heat which will make the stopping distance longer. So going on a warm day and riding it will make a big difference. Also they might modify it for next year to make it stop even later if there is room, but to test that they have to have it running on hot days with passengers to see if it's possible... Will Höjdskräcken (S&S Turbo Drop) stay? They see that Höjdskräcken is something to train yourself on before going big on Atmosfear, so yes it will stay. My verdict: It's just as good as any Intamin drop tower, I didn't on the other hand experience the full effects in the queue which are said to be synced with the start/drop of the ride. But it's still a great ride and a perfect fit for Liseberg... Before the pictures I would like to end this report with a great thank you from us to Liseberg for letting us come and enjoy this event!!! Pictures: Yay, for Atmosfear Green rabbits The reason why we are here So everyone just follow those green rabbits!! New LED displays Up to the tower Press manager Atmosfear in the background CEO Andreas Andersen Ride entrance Mmmmm, fresh Intamin tower It really begs to be ridden Cool reflective windows between the queue and the ride area Lights that will flash when the ride starts More effects Catch car Mechanisms that makes the ride drop Brake fins and rings to stabilize the cables Since I had a camera Duct-taped to my hand I couldn't go on the first ride But instead I got a cool shot of the bump stops And also standing under the ride while operating Nearing the top It could be an idea to move away now Tallest drop ride in Europe, gallest Gyro drop world wide, 3:rd tallest drop tower world wide... Good view of Balder And the other Balder, but with a Ra first Kanonen And Lisebergbanan <3 Almost every attractions in one shot Ride entrance You must be this height to ride Theme stuff More Down the stairs Space for about 600 persons (1 hour wait) One of many things that will be synced to the ride Other cool stuff More queue Behind the Atmosfear entrance they have hidden Desperados <3 I pretty much pawened everyone And that's it, see you later for a full report of Liseberg!!! -

Will do the first two questions, thanks for those by the way!! The third one, the height above sea level is 146 meters, the tower itself is 116 meters and the ride height is 90 meters (4 meters more than Huracan)... Might meet you at Liseberg then...
