  1. This is so much more awesome then the normal soundtrack/video. I would really love to go on it during this event!!
  2. ^ I agree with you Blue Fire looks so much better then this, there is loads of headbanging going on during the ride on iSpeed and it sounds that it might also have some "Intamin rattle going on", and since Blue Fire have neither of those then it's the better ride...
  3. Huh, Caramelldansen is made in Sweden and have nothing to do with Japan (apart from beeing played in loads of videos from there), and it's totally awesome!! It could definitely fit on a Scandi trip DVD. Anyway: A very big thank you!! to Robb, Elissa, Kristen (Johan said Hi!!) and all the other participants on the trip for having a great time with you all at the Norwegian/Swedish parks!! I look forward to see you all soon on a future TPR trip!!
  4. It's even supposed to be stronger to the Quad-track they are using now, to bridge large gaps...
  5. ^ The track system that is going to be used for the new Vekomas is different compared to this one, they use track that looks like the one that the trains run on in those renderings on the Vekoma web page, at least that is what the new Singapore Dueler have... According to the article in First drop about the F1 coaster then the main reason why they have changed the track system, is to make the manufacturing cheaper. A stronger track needs a lot less supports on hills etc. (as you can see on the hills on the F1 coaster), but they still have the supports pretty close together on the high-g turns, due to the extra force. And then comparing this new one with the Quad-track then this one must be a lot easier to make, since there is a lot of small parts that needs to be welded up with a lot of accuracy, where as this track needs less parts/materials. I also guess that's one of the reasons why they have started to use Square tubing on the supports, cheaper... So in essence this is a track system to make large coaster manufacturing cheaper, which can give us a lot more big rides then we have seen so far I guess that's something Lance started when he first posted about it on Screamscape... Seeing what the track is all about then this is very plausible, maybe even a Tera coaster...
  6. No not Premier, it's an Intamin, and it looks like this one is the same. So a new Intamin is going to KD. It's a newly developed track system that Intamin have created to get an even stronger and stiffer track then the quad, to have longer distances between the supports, which means less supports, to make the manufacturing and ride cheaper. I also have a feeling that this dual spine track is a lot easier to manufacture then quad-rail as well. So no this is not a new Premier, pure Intamin awesomeness...
  7. ^ The front row camera is mounted on the "wind shield" in the front, it can be seen in that car model, in certain angles.
  8. Just found this one: From: http://www.geocities.jp/kawasima_kikuo/sub26.html It's also one of those Cycle Coasters that are found in Japan, take a look further down that page, to see some other random ride... RCDB link: http://www.rcdb.com/m/id4492.htm
  9. There are rumors circling on the ECC mailing list, that this season might be the last with brakemen's at Bakken on Rutschebanen. Since there are some new trains coming next year that will make the brakemen's redundant... Maybe that's why they let him "drive" the train, so it didn't matter that much if he had crashed it... We had a great time when we visited Bakken little over a week ago. I can agree that Tornado gives a brutal ride, and it suffers bad from neck slashing due to it's twistyness, but since it's a spinner then not all rides do that... Looking forward to the report from Hansa Park...
  10. ^ That's exactly what happened.
  11. They launch the trains on KK a bit faster than on the other accelerators, and then have a trim on the top to take away that extra speed. They have done a close inspection on the train that stalled, but they didn't found anything wrong with it, sot it's back up and running... I just guess that it took so long to push it back down, because they haven't had this problem before, next time it will be dealt with a lot faster. Unless they do something to prevent this from happening again, like speeding up the launch...
  12. Ultra Seven Coaster Mach 7 Sounds cooler then the ride really is...
  13. ^ Yeah, it was basically the same here, people are now so scared of Liseberg that they will never go there again, but driving a car is fine... Of what I can find then it have happened 3 times on TTD. The simplest solution is to increase the launch speed somewhat, so that the train doesn't crawl over the top as it does now. Then the possibility of this ever happening again is brought down to a minimum...
  14. ^^ Or at Tusenfryd, Skara Sommarland or at Gröna Lund It's always nice to see some TPR action on the telly YAY, for loads of Tivoli photos!!
  15. ^ It can be anything from 10°c to 30°C (50F - 86F), not to mention the wind... So yeah a Jacket of some sort can be nice to have...
  16. ^ I'm actually more surprised that this haven't happened earlier on Kanonen, since it always just crawls over the top, unlike most of the others I have seen...
  17. ^ If it's crowded you might only get on one It's one of those walkthroughs I really want to do, when we visited the park last year they closed down the whole queue since it was completely full... I just guess that you have to go there on one of those days when the park is nearly empty...
  18. ^ Looks good, but there is no need to have 3 trains on that coaster. 2 would work so much better and you will be able to reduce the stacking to a minimum.
  19. Breaking news, this happened just moments ago... Kanonen have just done a fail that is the same as what TTD have done a few times now... They have stalled it on the top hat Apparently the 14 riders that is on it, are all OK and they are at the moment discussing what the best way to rescue them would be, push the train forward or backward or rescue the passengers from the train on top of the Top Hat... Wonder if this will persuade them to increase the launch speed, FINALLY!!!! Full article from GP (Gothenburg Post) can be found at: Clicky!! [swedish] UPDATE!!! They have pushed the train back to the station about an hour after it happened...
  20. Yes, we all rode it. We did a group take-over of "Fantasy World." I think Big Mike may have a couple of photos in his update. I couldn't post everything, if I did I'd never get any of these on-going trip reports done! --Robb "I'm determined to keep the thread updated this year!" Alvey That's just pure awesomeness, looks like these strange rides have spread beyond Japan and Korea then
  21. Just awesome, by the way did any of you go for the wacky train ride in the big warehouse looking thing by the entrance??
  22. Too bad about the Scandi trip But it's still nice to see that your project is going so well, best of wishes on you grand opening!! I can't wait to see some pictures of the whole thing completed, with lots of people enjoying themselves at this awesome place!!
  23. ^^ Tornado is a bit of both, it's one of the rattliest rides I have ridden, and then all the tight twists and turns causes all the neck slashing on the OSTR's. It looks great, but the ride is appalling for such a new ride, and that coupled with the noise it makes... not good... ^ Thank you for the comments, and welcome to the crazy world of being a coaster enthusiast with people that travel all over the world to ride some coasters. What you are feeling is quite normal for freaks like us I really love your avatar by the way
  24. Final day, part 2 Old coaster kicks ass, in a good way, part 2 Then after 9 days driving through Europe and 17 different parks it was finally time for the final stop of the trip, and it turned out to be harder to get here then we initially though. Since it was Sunday and the weather was great, a loads of Danish people was thinking the same thing and was also heading for Bakken, so a short drive and an easy parking, became a long hot slow moving traffic jam, when we finally arrived at the park all the parking was full so we had to go and look for somewhere else to park, and we finally found some public parking 1.5 miles away. But since it was so nice weather then it didn't really bother us... After finally reaching the park we got caught in the largest and slowest queue of the evening, to get our wrist bands... After we finally got them, we made fast progress through the park and the credits, and was helped by the awesome operations of the rides, they were loading people like crazy (I guess that since they get payed by the number of riders they have they want to have as many as possible > fast loading). For the final time for this trip report, PICTURES!!!!!! We finally arrived at Bakken, a place I have wanted to visit for years now... We made quick work of Mariehønen and nearly broke it in the process Tiny Ferriswheel Hmm, Afrokopperne... There was a lot of wet people walking around in the park, and I guess that this is the cause New for 2009, an Intamin spinner It goes really fast of the lift See what I mean, lightning fast or it wouldn't clear this section They have a small launch system, similar to that on an accelerator, for the hydraulically driven lift chain motor The car's look good, but the OSTR bit really slashes your neck around the course, not pleasant They need a launch of the lift or the car wouldn't clear this turn as well These chains sound's like crap when they launch the car of the lift Tornado, once described as: "They report that Tornado looks amazing, but is (quote) "rougher than a bag of spanners". Apparently they ended up with bruises from the restraints :/ !" And I agree... Since Tornado broke down on us, while we were waiting we headed for Rutschebanen Another really old coaster for today This double down creates some really crazy airtime Completely crazy, but awesome ride It shakes really bad during the course Awesome Intamin mine train Broken The lift on Rutschebanen is extremely fast and no way near straight There goes another load of happy riders Yay for a good Intamin Down to the lift The rest of the layout is really twisty <3 There it goes again If you missed which coaster we are on Loads of powerful helices Looks so great I got a German fair vibe from this place <3 They have a lot of rides that looks like they belongs on a German fair at least They had a dueling, space shot and frog hopper A massive Enterprise, I haven't seen any of these in days Then we found the last coaster in the park before we headed of to see if Tornado had opened again It's one of these awesome coasters with no restraints <3 It goes pretty great as well Mmmm But it was time to see if they had gotten Tornado to open again Mmm, airtime YAY, it's opened again!! The cars are good, but the restraints are whack Yay, for crazy airtime in the back Another round of people goes for a ride There is loads of air in the back, but also in the front Awesome The Brakemen were awesome He was riding with these glasses for a while Yay, for double down when you leave your seat Tornado again Too, bad that it sucks, Intamin should do Mega coasters not small rides There one train goes again Buy Bakken it was fun, but we have a boat to catch And we did, but they failed pretty bad to dock On the way back we started to go with warp 1 Then we had a rough transition to... HYPERSPACE!!!! Next up is a final post of this trip...
  25. Final day, part 1 Old coaster kicks ass, in a good way, part 1 Tivoli was the first park I visited as an enthusiast way back in 2004, and during that visit I wasn't as credit happy as I am now, so I still had the kiddy coaster to get The day started with a 3 hour drive from Lübeck and our hotel, and after a ferry ride and some cruising on the motorway, we finally arrived just after the park opened... We first headed over to Rutchebanan, the Woodie built in 1915, for our first rides, and I have to say that this ride still is one of the better wooden coasters I have ridden, I would almost say that it's pure awesomeness!! Next coaster on the menu was Dæmonen, and it suffers greatly from the same kind of vibrations that Silver Star have, so the ride isn't as good I remembered it from when it was new Then I finally got my long sought after missed credit which made me really happy. Then we were also standing a looking on the new ride that Tivoli have installed, and really wanted to ride it, but since they were just operating one of the sides it meant that we had to wait for a much longer time that we had time for, so it meant that we skipped it for another day and grabbed a few more awesome rides on Rutchebanan... Pictures!! First ferry of the day While walking to Tivoli Gardens Entrance to Tivoli!! Then suddenly we were in the Arabic Cool, I remember these from Kurashiki!! First and last stops It have recently received some TLC It's one of those side friction rides with a brakeman They ride on that tiny seat during the ride They were running 3 trains, great The car really needs those block's on the end since you slide pretty violently around the turns A Star Flyer is built up on a platform above a section of a park, they have one of the slowest loading I have experienced... It's right by the power coaster It's just inches away Here it comes again Spinny spinny, this thing might break your neck Random photo Power coaster again Next stop In a little Asia themed section A really tight B&M And they are running it!! Loopage Immelmann!! And then finally a Zero-g Yep, it have some brakes as well Loads of track cramped together It's really tiny Here it goes again Time for some upside down sections Then into the brakes Massive cross over point Against the sun Time for some microgravity Pre-drop helix Here it goes again Also almost worthy to be used as a wallpaper Floorless flying carpet ride My final credit!! Looks nice, but is headache inducing The new ride for this year It have two modes Either it goes really fast in this kind of loop Or slower and you can use the joystick to control it But faster is cooler Sounds awesome as well Almost like an WW2 fighter plane coming at you Takes me back to Japan <3 On the top of the Star flyer Tivolis, new fire engine Such a nice place to be In there is a mad house One final image of the best coaster in the park Great looking stage Then it was time for Bakken
