  1. Sylvan Beach. Then the NY State Fair, and then Seabreeze. Yeah. That's it for the year. But I just got back from LC and SFNE.
  2. ^ The Cyclone? Good? No offense, but the time I went there (July 2005), that thing was rougher than anything I could imagine. I could just tell from the top of the lift, looking at the track on the bottom of the first drop that it was going to hurt, and the un banked elevated turns taken at high speeds didn't help either. Right, now, of the 15 wooden coasters that I have ridden, Cyclone at Astroland is ranked 15. Did Cyclone have a major re track in the past 2 years?
  3. Besides, I think not only is Cyclone owned by thie city and not the park itself, but it is a National Landmark (not only an ACE Roller Coaster Landmark) so I'm pretty sure that is safe. I think the Wonder Wheel is a National Landmark also.
  4. Buddy johnson, do you have information about Gyeongju World? I typed it into rcdb and it came up with no information. I am surprised that they don't have information on that park, and they have a huge B&M Invert! Maybe you mis - spelled it? EDIT: Nevermind, I think you did mis spell it. I got info on a 147 foot tall B&M Invert called Phaethon at Kyongju World in South Korea, although there were no pictures.

    2007 DVD?

I'm pretty sure I already asked Robb when the videos were going to be, because I wanted to enter my best video, but he is going to delay the contest until the end of the summer, so the summer season of this year can be covered, and not of 2006. The whole "most videos are of the previous year" ticked me off a bit because the parks usually got new rides of that year and I wanted to see footage of them. So, I think the fact that Robb moved the contest to later is a good decision, IMO.
  6. There is a waterpark video (Adventure Island in Tampa, FL) at coasterfuel.com, (it's my video, along with the other videos made by Tanks4me over there) but you have to become a member to download the video. Luckily, joining the forum is easy. A second waterpark video (Rapids Waterpark in West Palm Beach, FL) is uploaded, but the admin of the site that uploads the videos hasn't posted the download link yet. In my opion not only does Rapids Waterpark have better slides, I think the video is a bit better, also. If you do download it, I apologize for the large video size (50 megs for 4 minutes and 2 seconds od video) but I am one of the very few people who films waterparks and I won't film them much anymore because they are starting to get boring, save for Rapids Waterpark, so yeah. Seize the opportunity.
  7. I'll be going to SFNE on the 29th. (The ACE event at Lake Compounce on the 28th.) Sorry.
  8. Now that looks impressive! Since it's basically an entirely downhill ride from what I have heard, all those tight turns are going to make this ride amazing!
  9. ^^ You can still ride Quantum Loop, the "totally screwed up looping coaster", it's just in Columbia, named Bambo Coaster. http://rcdb.com/id2749.htm -Tanks "that and Broca (Zambezi Zinger) are why I want to go to South America some day" 4me05.
  10. [sarcasm]I'm so happy people constantly trash Darien Lake for the piece of crud that it is[/sarcasm] It really is not as bad as all those people think. Yeah, Mind Eraser hurts, but it's not horrible. Actually, Boomerang is not bad at all, and Viper is actually pretty smooth. Either A: You sat in the crap places of the trains, B: Everyone are wimps and can't handle any pain, or C: I'm crazy. (I think C is correct, because Mean Streak and Hercules are still in my top 10 wood lists) Oh, Predator did re open, I rode it in early June, it just didn't like you and decided to break down that day. If you ride in the second car, first row, it isn't that bad, save for three or four spots. At least Seabreeze was complimented. (Dude, Bobsleds got a new sign!)
  11. I think that this one is yet again the rider/ride op's fault. It's sad. That's all I can say.
  12. It looks like a cool layout and all, but I think they could have done a bit more with it. Sure it goes upside down six times, but the rest is just a Mantis style helix thing, a climb, a flat section (probably MCBR) with a 270 degree right hand drop, and another standard helix. I know the ride can still be fun and extremely forceful with what seemingly little there is (look at Laser for example, I grayed out for at least half the ride in the front seat) but I still think more could be done. -Tanks "I hope the model is extremely inaccurate" 4me05.
  13. Wow, that was better than I expected. Shapiro actually knows what he's doing in those terms (not referring to prices.) It kind of makes me wish Darien Lake was still part of the Six Flags chain. Then again, maybe not.
  14. It probably is La Ronde's model. In one of the rcdb pics, it showed a white Boomerang with a red Arrow train, and since based on the recent pictures (taken in 2006 by CanobieFan) the coaster still has Arrow trains, but they are blue. Since it's being advertised as a Canadian (Ontario) coaster, I wouldn't be surprised if they still took a picture of a different coaster, but still in Canada, which apparently they did. So yeah, my money is betting on La Ronde's model. Also, in the advertisement picture, it is taken on the right side of the loop, and as I double checked the old picture on rcdb, I'm pretty sure there is a path to the right side of the loop. It's hard to see, but I think it's there.
  15. If it's not too late to hand in a flyer to ACE, Lake Compounce for the event at the end of July (and then I'll go to SFNE the day after) If not, Sylvan Beach is going to be next.
  16. Need I say again that PARC just spent a lot of money buying those parks, and is potentially spending huge capital on Darien Lake, so I have a feeling PARC is out of the question.
  17. I'm not sure they would have the money for purchasing WWW right now. They spent $312 million on purchasing the 7 parks from SFI, and I just heard a few days ago on wnycoasters.com that they are planning to spend another $109 million on Darien Lake for expansions (hotel expansion and indoor waterpark, although that probably wouldn't take up all the $109 million unless it is huge, so us wnycoasterers think we will get park improvements, new rides, and maybe a new coaster) Also, they just contacted PTC , so that will probably mean new trains for Predator, setting them back nearing another $0.5 million, so yeah, I think PARC 7F is not up to buy WWW right now. At least Darien Lake is finally getting improvements. To be honest, I think that it will either stay an independent park, or Herschend might buy it, since it seems somewhat similar in terms of theming to their other larger parks.
  18. Based on everyone's comments, my thought (and probably almost everyone else's thought) was that the trains would kill the ride, but apparently not. Although it lost the loop, it looks like I have a motive to go to KI eventually.
  19. Well, assuming CoasterNut17 will do a 1/40 scale model of Talon, he will need to make the hill 3.375 feet tall, and he will need 77.95 feet of track. Since each Scorpion model has 26 feet of track, he will need 3 Scorpion models for the track, and have almost no track to spare after that, (26*3=78, and you need 77.95) So for the guy who made the Raptor model, I bet he used almost all of his track along with the supports, even though those were the Dragon sets (I couldn't find the specific track length for that model). The guy who created Raptor would have needed 94.75 feet of track for a 1/40 scale model, and I assume that the Dragon has a track length of a little over 30 feet. -Tanks "I like numbers" 4me05
  20. Ahh, if Miracle Strip's Loop - O - Plane has already been scrapped, Sylvan Beach can just get this one. Anyway, the PTR was pretty cool, and I like the building of the Merry - Go - Round for some reason.
  21. Wow, that video was awesome! Even though I went to Hershey, I never knew Coal Cracker had that insane buny hop after the main drop! (Even though I went on it only once, back in 2000, I never noticed it)
  22. Sorry for double posting, but I have more news! I just read from wnycoasters that the mini golf course will be coming this month, and they will be getting TGE's Rotor, (which will arrive by Friday) and more! http://www.amusementgraffixintl.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1144&highlight= 7th post in the thread.
  23. Sylvan Beach. The park SCREAMS 1940, and it's clean, too, with some good rides. Simple as that. -Tanks "Full Fledged Sylvan Beach Enthusiast" 4me05.
