  1. The first rides are in! Here are some pictures: Just as I promised, a Bussink Evolution is here. These things rule. Here is the entrance. A sign will come later to cover the entrance. This is a fountain that the queue line goes around. Here is a larger fountain that guests walk under. This is an overview of the fountain. This is the back of the fountain. Here is another Open Air Building, this time it houses the Entrance and Exit turnstiles. Yep, B&M finally agreed to make another launched coaster. But this time, it's a Stand up Coaster. - Tanks "I think the Stand up Coaster has not been brought up to its full potential" 4me05.
  2. This park is very good for a first park. I may actually use the general idea of that sitting area somewhere in the park that I'm making now. To make your park truly amazing, you will have to spend several months for a decent sized park on many things, like scenery, and such. However, I recommend not to for this one, just to get the hang of it, but you should still put some effort in your park, like you are now. You should download a lot of custom scenery from ataricommunity (they have a huge list) and I see you have the essential Steelworx custom scenery pack (the Catwalks on the brake run) For your coaster, I suggest using the custom supports that are also in the Steelworx pack to make it more realistic.
  3. It may look tame, but check the G's that the poster says: The vertical G's reach 3.26, and the lateral G's reach 1.2, not the best out there, but that's pretty good for a spinning coaster.
  4. Ok, I'm going down to Florida during April Break. I'll be leaving on Sunday, the 8th, and I will be out at parks from April 9th - 13th. I am going to Boomers, Rapids Water Park, Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, Busch Gardens Africa, and Adventure Island. I have only been to Rapids before (technically Boomers also, but Dania Beach Hurricane and Blender were down, so I didn't bother to go in the gates) So, I need tips on all the parks except for Rapids. Boomers is on a Monday, Rapids on Tuesday, Cypress Gardens on Wednesday, Busch Gardens Africa on Thursday, and Adventure Island on Friday. I will give Photo Trip Reports and Videos for each park. Main questions: 1: How bad are the lines going to be on these days? 2: What should I ride first, second, etc. to avoid long lines? 3: What are the best seats for the coasters at the parks I am going to? 4: Where specifically are there good places to eat in the parks? 5: When is SheiKra getting the Floorless trains? 6: Is there a confirmed report as to if Gwazi will get Millennium Flyers? If so, when? 7: Do Dania Beach Hurricane and Blender at Boomers break down often? As I said before, my last attempt at Boomers failed because of that, and I have the ability to switch around Rapids and Boomer's visit days to allow for any repairs to be made. Also, please tell me anything else I should know about these parks, like some cool hidden features, or other things I have not mentioned yet. Kind of like that Blue Scarab in Revenge of the Mummy's queue that blasts air if you press it, or so I heard.
  5. For rides like S:ROS at SFDL, the front was a little more than ok. The back, however, was insane! There was ejector airtime on pretty much every drop, the same thing for Comet at Great Escape. I like the back on most coasters, however it still depends. If the park is huge, like Cedar Point, I want to get in as many coasters as possible, I might just go to whatever has the least lines, and maybe go for the front or back on the ones that have little lines, or if the rides are at night, when there usually isn't a lot of lines anyway. For rides like Laser at Dorney Park, I will pick the front, as I find it much more intense.
  6. Those things actually exist?!?!?! The only place I saw those was in RCT3. If only one was built in the North Eastern United States...
  7. Ok, it's been two months, but I finally finished the entrance plaza! (Technically, it only took me a couple of weeks to make the buildings, but it is extremely challenging to make everything fit together perfectly, as the style of this park is very unique) It has six buildings, and room for a Sky Ride which I plan to put in once I have more of the park constructed. Progress will be very slow on this park for reasons of extremely extensive detail, but next update will have some rides in it, and the first major flat ride will be one of those Bussink Evolution Style Rides. On to the pictures! Here are some more Waterslide Fountains. Here is the path from the back of the park entrance, now with Neon Lamps on the sides. Here are the Restrooms. This is the back of the Restrooms. Here is the first restaurant, the Cornerstone Cafe. Another view of the Cornerstone Cafe. In the background, you see the back of the Cornerstone Cafe, where you sit down to eat. Here is a better view of the back of the Cornerstone Cafe. Notice the Neon Lighting about four or five feet off the ground. This is the Gift Shop, Halcyon Gifts. I named it that as a shout out to my previous project, Halcyon Gardens. Here is the inside of Halcyon Gifts. This is the Guests Services Building. Here is the inside of the Guest Service Building. This is the First Aid Station. Here is the inside of the First Aid Station. This is the Security Building. Here is the inside of the Security Building. This is the back of the Security Building. Here is the back of the First Aid Building. This is another view of the Guest Services Building. This is an overview of the entire area so far.
  8. I'm not too interested at the park by the looks of it, but it is still under construction, after all. However, after looking at their main site, their ride line up for their opening year is a good choice. Even if the park might not be as good as I hope it will be, I will still give it a few years to get a few more rides, etc. They were talking about a Wooden Coaster in 2009, you know.
  9. Intamin Hyper Coasters definitely have a lot of airtime, especially S:ROS at SFDL. I know that park is at the low end of the chain, but that ride doesn't seem to use trim brakes, it's amazing in the back seat, and definitely the old style wooden coasters, most notably Schmeck's designs, (the two Comets in PA and NY) The NY version is far better, with airtime just screaming all over the place when in the back seat, it's easily the best coaster in NY State, next to S:ROS.
  10. Interesting park you have here. It kind of reminds me of one of my projects I completed a while ago; given this one also has the ever useful Klinn's Framework Custom Scenery Pack used. Can you post some more pictures of that coaster I saw in the "Main Street" Picture? I suggest covering up the entrance with something a bit more elaborate, instead of leaving it like that. I know there isn't a lot of room there, but you can still make something. Maybe you should also try to put on some of those custom paths (they are custom scenery packs, and here are links for a few of them in case you haven't downloaded them yet) http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=547005 http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=547005 http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=547005
  11. Can you give a list of what custom scenery you used? I could definitely use some of them, especially the Skee-Ball games. Anyway, this park looks pretty awesome! I have seen a few beach side parks attempted on RCT3, and this looks to be the best of them by far.
  12. Finally, I can put my knowledge of Sylvan Beach to good use! I very well know almost all of the parks in upstate New York, and Sylvan Beach is of high importance to visit. It is a very small park, and their only coaster is an SDC Galaxi, but it is fun, nonetheless. The park has a very classic 1950's feel, with several extremely rare flat rides, including an Eyerly Roll - O - Plane, an Eyerly Rock - O - Plane, a Tip Top, a Pretzel Dark Ride, an Eli Bridge Scrambler, (I'm not sure if it's rare or not, but this is the only one I have seen in the region, and it is WILD) and more. I suggest going on a Wednesday if possible, where there is pretty much no crowds, but I only go in July, so the crowds may be different. However, the park does not have a Pay One Price System; each ride still requires individual tickets. Wednesdays are "Bargain Wednesdays", meaning the ticket requirements for each ride is reduced by 1. (Galaxi need 3 tickets instead of 4, etc.) The flat rides run very long cycles, and are all surprisingly intense, but I suggest to ride Bomber (the Roll - O - Plane) alone, as the rapid Barrel Roll style movements are quite painful against the metal doors, but if you hold on really tight, and ride alone, it is a really fun ride, and I tend to ride it several times in one trip. Since there are very little crowds, you can ride everything multiple times in about 2 or 3 hours, but I recommend staying from about 5:00 PM to closing, as the place looks amazing at night with all the Fluorescent Lighting. Laffland, their Dark Ride, is as classic as you will be able to get on this trip. Below is a link to an article regarding Laffland which I stumbled upon a few years ago. http://www.laffinthedark.com/articles/sylvanbeach/laffland.htm The park also has a variety of kiddy rides, a Bumper Boats arena, Bumper Cars, a Crazy Daisy, even a Carousel that was made in 1898 I believe. If possible, try to go to Sylvan Beach; it is essentially the half way point between Great Escape and Darien Lake. Also, about 300 or so feet away from the park, there is a nice restaurant called Eddie's, which also delivers the classic feel of the 1950's, not to mention the food is good. - Tanks "Full Fledged Sylvan Beach Enthusiast" 4me05.
  13. ^ Personally, I think they should add a couple of more flat rides, like that Intamin Drop Tower someone mentioned earlier, and some more family attractions, like a Huss Condor, which can kind of fit in with the whole "African Vulture" theme. Come to think of it, Vulture does sound like a cool name. As long as they don't give Gwazi a re - track in April, I'm happy, as I'm going to BGA for the first time then. I already lost Python; I don't want to miss out on Gwazi.
  14. Let's see... in case you don't know, SFDL is one of those parks that were sold from Six Flags, and the new owners seem promising. Sadly, Myrtle Beach Pavilion is gone, and Bell's Amusement Park might close down, also. Joyland in Kansas could close down even since they just re opened, even Coney Island is going to close at the end of 2007. (The Astroland part, at least) Cyclone might live, although I'm not too hopeful of that. However, Ghost Town in the Sky is well under way of being re opened, and is getting a major overhaul, with a new Family Coaster and a Drop Tower.
  15. Whoa! If you could give instructions for your flat rides, I would be very happy. It's unbelievable at how detailed and accurate the rides are. These are probably the most realistic K'nex flat rides I have ever seen!
  16. ^^ I thought that their Looping Mouse looked awesome, but there's one that is even better: It has a Loop and a Corkscrew! (I couldn't help but point it out) http://rcdb.com/id1890.htm Hey, I guess I'm not the only one. It definitely puts the word "Mini" in Mini Hyper; however, it does look like it will have a really good amount of airtime.
  17. At the top of a lift, right before a boost, or on a large drop of a Water Slide: "COCONUT RECIPES!" In reference to a special feature on the Monty Python: and the Holy Grail DVD that I have. - Tanks "full fledged Monty Python enthusiast" 4me05.
  18. Well, there is only one thing I can say: You have got to be kidding me. Shaprio and gang should definitely have a better reason than "it's not family friendly".
  19. I think this look pretty cool. The buildings are nicely themed, but I agree that it needs more trees to be a Tropical Island, and I think SHANGO may need a Loop somewhere and some more scenery around the ride, but that's just me. Oh, I have a question: What is that new coaster thing? Is it a Mega Disk - O or something else?
  20. Didn't I hear rumors of Dorney Park eventually going to get an Impulse a while back? Or am I just imagining things? I know MIA would need it more, but the rumors pointed to Dorney Park.
  21. Well, I have only been on Alpine Bobsled and Disaster Transport, and I voted Disaster Transport because it simply has scenery, and it was okay at best. But once I go on Flying Turns in June, I will most likely reconsider my preferences.
  22. That... looks... awesome!!! It looks kind of like it harkens back to the old days of Wildcat if you ask me, but who's to say I don't like Wildcat? Sigh, if only another GCII were to be made on the east coast US...
  23. Although I do not have Vertical Vengeance, the chances of me getting it are slim, seeing as the only thing they are useful for are Eurofighters, and are not realistic for anything else. I personally like the older models (Screamin' Serpent and Rippin' Rocket) best of them all.
  24. I really underestimated this ride, it looks awesome! There is only one thing I can say about that tiny drop right before the Over banked Turn at the far end of the course: a very large amount of airtime! Hollywood Dream: The Ride definitely shows that size does not always matter.
  25. Personally, I think Sylvan Beach looks amazing. Although it is a small park, so you can't really see the rides until you are right up next to it, it still shows the relaxed, retro feel that I praise the park so highly for. It is rather sad that so few people know about it. - Tanks "Sylvan Beach fan boy" 4me05.
