  1. My favorite, even beating out El Toro, is Shivering Timbers. Once it has been running for a while , the airtime is incredible, and it flies through the helix. Photo taken by me
  2. I'm not sure what to think about the name. Sure it isn't the worst, but it just doesn't seem to fit the ride. The theming though looks like it will be amazing. Even though the ride will be family friendly, the level of theming should really make the ride stand out. I was disappointed with the level of theming on Saw with the exception of the queue/station. However, Thirteen looks it will live up to my expectations, and even if there isn't much theming outside of the main building, the fact that it is running through the forest should help the ride experience greatly.
  3. ^i assume you'll be getting a Morgan or Premier coaster, although I'll go with Premier. Sad to hear the staff at the park is so bad, but at least you will have a new coaster to ride. Considering Israel's best coaster looks to be either a Boomerang or SLC, this could end up being the best coaster in the country even if it is a family coaster. I'm holding out hope for a Backlot Stunt Coaster style ride.
  4. The Worst Day Ever - Simple Plan
  5. Here in Chicago we're used to the cold, so that doesn't slow down people that much. However, throw in a little snow and complete chaos breaks out. For perspective, it took me 30-40 minutes to go just over three blocks this morning. I know people were trying to be careful, but that was ridiculous. So yeah, cold doesn't make people late here, and I don't see how it can even in So. Cal. While it might be rare for it to be that cold there, it isn't something that should make everyone late. Really, just accept it, and get on with what has to be done. It isn't like it's a blizzard...which even that wouldn't shut down Chicago.
  6. Yes, Mt. Olympus, Timber Falls, Knuckleheads, and Riverview. However, I didn't ride anything at the last two since the coasters were closed. Have you ever really liked a coaster the first time you rode it only to hate it the next time?
  7. ^They play Yo Gabba Gabba on a giant TV screen Alternate endings would be awesome, but I doubt it will happen. Although a switch track like on Expedition Everest or something similar to the end of Winjas are more probable.
  8. Alabama Alaska Arkansas Colorado Florida Georgia Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maryland Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Nebraska New Jersey New York North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Pennsylvania South Carolina Tennessee Texas (airport) Virginia Washington D.C. (although it's not a state) West Virginia Wisconsin Wyoming
  9. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
  10. ^The park already has a shuttle loop, so why would they add a fairly similar coaster when there are other possibilities? I'll go with either a Schwarzkopf non looping coaster (Knightmare or Lisebergbanan), a Togo stand-up, or an Arrow suspended coaster. I think the most likely will be one of the last two though.
  11. ^I doubt it, unless having automatic breaks and seat belts added equals an X2 makeover. It's great that it is keeping its name, and I was concerned it would receive a Wiggles theme like the kiddie coaster at SFFT. The coaster is a lot of fun, and it should be a big hit with the families. I imaging the park will advertise like crazy how this came from Kiddieland, but hopefully they advertise this is a kiddie/family coaster and not a thrill ride like they did in 2008.
  12. According to Screamscape, Demon Drop is no longer being sent to Knotts, and it is being sent to Dorney Park instead. Link I'm just wondering whose bright idea it was to send a used drop tower to a park that already has a S&S tower complex. I hope this isn't true, but I'm pretty sure it is. Oh well, hopefully this means that Michigan's Adventure will get it's own S&S tower complex soon.
  13. Hey Jude - The Beatles
  14. Looks like an interesting ride, although I don't think I'd call it a coaster. Even though the layout just goes around the tower, it still looks like it could be thrilling for most. I know it would be for me, and if If I get on it, I probably wouldn't tilt it that much.
  15. RCDB Link Definitely a nice addition for the park, and it looks like a ride that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. So will this be part of the expansion they are doing, or is this an unrelated project?
  16. Awesome, and like everyone else, I'm really surprised. The coaster is a lot of fun despite being so small, and I'm sure it will be a hit with the families. I wonder what area it will go in though, since there isn't much room in any of the kiddie areas. This was completely random and unexpected, and I'm happy that Six Flags is doing this. It is nice to see that it will still be local instead of being shipped across the country or be demolished.
  17. Saying Goodbye - Sugarcult
  18. Best: El Toro - lots of air time and some intense turns Viper - two great air time hills before a quick turn in to the breaks Raging Bull - crazy figure-eight Shivering Timbers - great helix Evel Knievel - airtime Hellcat (Timber Falls) - never lets up until it hits the breaks Batman: the Ride - intense turns and corkscrews Worst: Disaster Transport - that was it? River King (SFSTL) - sauna tunnel T2 and Thunderhawk - does nothing after inline twists
  19. ^Village Roadshow owns pretty much all the parks in Australia. If I had to guess, I'd say the looping water slide would go to WBMW's water park. Although, I have nothing to really base that off of.
  20. Welcome to Paradise - Green Day
  21. This is great news, and hopefully the park does get rebuilt. I knew the park struggled, and I figured that after the fire, the land would be redeveloped. Hopefully the "new" park does end up getting built, although, I'm not sure how they will be able to restore the coaster since it looks like a total loss to me. The only thing I can see is that the coaster is rebuilt using some of the wood from the old coaster. I'm still skeptical since it seemed like Save Dreamland projects were around before the fire and nothing happened. I'll still wait for construction to start before I believe it though.
  22. While I'm not a fan of the lazy river being connected to the wave pool, this expansion looks like a great addition for Beech Bend. While the water park will still be rather small, there will still be enough to spend a good amount of time at, and for a small local park, it is pretty impressive. The two new rides being added should also be good, and hopefully Beech Bend continues to make itself look like a permanent park instead of a carnival.
  23. Surrender - Cheap Trick
  24. Here is a strange, but cool, new ride from the people over at Chance Morgan. The ride looks pretty cool, and hopefully some start to show up soon. http://www.amusementtoday.com/
