  1. Since I deal with commuters almost every day, It got me thinking about the average commute. some people ride over 2 hours to and from work each day. I just could not imagine spending 4.5 hours a day going to and from work. (not to mention the trains being late some days) How far do you commute each day? my "normal" station base is only 25 mins away but sometimes I have to drive 1hr 10 min to the Fredericksburg commuter station. for 3 months I had to drive 2 hrs to work about 2 times a week and that really sucked. JEFF
  2. Did anybody else say "hell yea" when Eko killed that militia guy I liked Eko more than ever cause of that episode JEFF

But Lightning racer was pretty lame this year when I rode it so I will go with LR B&M- Superman UF SFOG (Slow, boring and uncomfortable) JEFF

JEFF
  8. I agree that these pics are fantastic. especially the first one, too perfect. I too would love to have higher quality versions if at all possible. Thanks, JEFF
  9. Really great pics, I love the first pic thanks for sharing, JEFF
  10. /\ Yes, those are Trim Brakes. They are primarily there to slow the train down enough so that the trains do not swing into the supports on the Brake run. It is not uncommon in March for the brakes to be practically off due to cold weather and this is usually when the trains hit the supports. On the support that is circled at that spot there used to be a indentation and a cut on the support from where the foot pedal on the side of the train hit it. JEFF
  11. I know It really sucks that we had such a Warm Fall so far. I was hoping for better colors but mother nature wasn't cooperating. JEFF looks like mid september rather than late October
  12. Try telling a 2 year old we got an extra hour of sleep last night! JEFF
  13. Somebody on another board is in the same situation and he called PKD and they said that Knotts WOULD honor the Temporary pass starting in January. hope that helps, Did they take your picture? at PKD they took our pic but said that we had to just pick it up at the SP office next season. JEFF
  14. IW was 1990 Batman was 1992 Superman was 2003 Apollo or Nitro does not have any problems like this in the valleys. I would say this Bull roughness has to do with maintenance. Apollo was meant to "glide" across the water FTR. JEFF
  15. I am sure it will be a mad house this weekend. the weather forecast is fantastic for today and tomorrow. and NOBODY was there on Fri. Germany lot was only about 3/4 full and that was it and since it started pouring rain as I was leaving about 3:30, I think alot of those people will be there this weekend too. Sunday will probably be 2 hour lines with 2 trains I had walk ons with 2 trains yesterday JEFF
  16. Actually yes Per. plates are very cheap compared to other states only $10 a year and that has been my plate since 1996. I think alot of states are around $80-$100 Yes they are VERY common in VA, I would say about 50% at least have personalized plates. You should see how many plate designs we have. Just about every Hobby, sports team, College or Va symbol you can imagine (except coasters =( ) can be on your plate for $25 a year. JEFF
  17. Apollo pics JEFF Thanks for giving a damn damn I look fat...damn pregnancy
  18. We had a bad forecast, supposed to rain all day but held off til about 4pm. In 4 hours this is what I accomplished Apollo-6 LNM-2 BBW-2 Alp-10 Not much new going on with Griffon, some finished footers and a couple low lift supports are up. JEFF
  19. here is a pic of the flat spots at the bottom of the drop Notice the net supported by wires to keep birds out.............what do birds like to sit on again???? JEFF
  20. No that's called "Getting your Ass kicked!" JEFF
  21. I have been suspicious for a while (I have had about 6 pregnant Women in my family recently) And Elissa not riding any thrill rides is kinda odd But I am happy for you guys. Kids add such Joy and insanity to ones life. and I wish you guys all the luck with your new baby. What is the due date? are ya'll going to find out the sex? ENJOY this free time and sleep once again Congrats JEFF
  22. I also noticed that the latest Alvey trips. there are no pics of Elissa on ANY Coasters or aggresive rides hmmmmm. JEFF
  23. I believe the indents on the ties on "normal" B&Ms are for the brake bar clearance. But Dive machines sit higher on the track so there is more clearance. that is my best guess, or maybe it is for more strength due to the rails being much farther apart. JEFF
