I assume it is because the retracable floor cost alot of money and that is why Griffon will load 1 at a time. I am curious after Sheikra's change how many trains they will have and if they will have 2 sets of retractable floors hmmmmm. JEFF -
GCI Intern Website
pkdcoaster replied to DragsterForce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really like the lower railings on the front cars, that was probably my biggest complaint with the GCI trains. Hopefully LR will get lower bars too I am very curious about Wildcat now. Hopefully it still maintains its out of control feel. JEFF -

Dude those pics were kickass!!!! You could not have planned out a better time to go (crowd & weather wise). Truly outstanding pics and your photoshop work to bring out the colors is awesome! I hope you have just as nice days for your CP trip in a few weeks! Glad you and Erin had a great time. JEFF -
PKD Did the same thing a few years ago. Scooby doo coaster, Avalanche and many other mild rides used to be no height limit if accompanied by an adult. and now it is 40" which isn't awful but my son is 39" and he really wants to go on them. Taxi Jam has a 36" requirement which is crazy!!! (I saw many kids crying cause they couldn't ride) I can totally agree with the limits raised on the big wooden coasters from 44" to 48" cause they are very aggresive, Hell I remember when grizzly had the 2 position bar and I could just hop out of the train when it stopped when I was 8. I love nothing more than riding rides with my son but it is frustrating to know that 3 years ago he could have been on alot more rides at this same height. He can ride Scrambler but not Avalanche WTF! JEFF

I was talking about the skyride, looks like if the timing is right you might get damp (if not more) if you are right behind that Griffon train when it goes plowing through the water. -

Funny thing is that still nobody rides that leg of the sky ride. The other 2 sides had at least a 30 min wait all day while the "Griffon side" was still about a 1 minute wait. Maybe that will change after Griffon opens. JEFF -

OK It makes sense now.....I thought it was there because of the Sky ride but now that I see it in relation to the 1st drop, it does make more sense now, more of protection from objects off the other train going down the 1st drop. Thanks for pointing that out JEFF -
Well, We had planned for a while to meet some good friends of ours who have kids the same age as ours at BGE on this day and we got a gorgeous day. As you can imagine, this was the first nice weekend of the season and the park was PACKED! Tons of Buses and they needed the 1st overflow lot to pack the people in. By Mid-day Alpengeist filled its entire Q and went onto the bridge! This was Abby's first trip to any park (born on 11-30-06) She loved it, she was so excited the whole day. Griffon started testing 3 train operation at about 5 for about an hour then stopped at 6. looks like all they have left is paving the observation area and put up fences and such and we are riding. Here are the pics from the day Enjoy, JEFF Hopefully you will be open next time I come Daddy's Girl loves trains too! Horray for testing!!! More fun! Beautiful Train rides are always a must! Log flume had a 45min wait by mid day Aidan thought it was worth every second The puddle was the hit of the day! (It's always the little things) I don't understand why this protective canopy is required there but not before the splash CAUTION you MAY get wet on this ride!!!! Most of the day 1 train was on the lift and the others were in the shed Splash pool is now Blue! Almost ready! I will be riding the sky ride ALOT this year!! The Buildings look really Nice, MUCH nicer than Apollo's Yay! for the Sky Ride!!!! THIS is how you get around at a Theme park. (wish I had that service) Aidan's first "big" drop ride. He loved the "Log Slide" Abbey has to eat as well Aidan is very mad that we have to eat before we go in the park

It is not a moan against safety, It is against loading times. For a ride that has not had them in 16 seasons and then they are there, they added about a minute to loading times each cycle and they were already running only one train. -
Well I toughed it out and just as I was getting over my cold and sore throat, I get to go out when all the trees are budding and pollen is a plenty and I am really allergic to pollen! The ONLY thing that was changed besides The new slides was the Ticket building being taken out! I could not believe it! In 1993 (Paramount's 1st full year) it was like walking in a brand new park on opening day. I was pretty shocked. Opps forgot one other thing Anaconda now has seat belts WTF! (see pics below) Most rides were the same with a few exceptions. Anaconda- 1 train with seatbelts! first time ever Anaconda had a longer line than Volcano!!!!!!! IJTC- No fire at all but everything else worked. XLC- I am betting this is this rides last year no matter what. I rode the Front seat (only had a 4 train wait) and it was the worst ride I have ever had on it. It was incredibly violent! Usually the Hill is fun but it was awful today and of course the rest of the ride has always been piss poor in quality and design. Grizzly- Seemed to not have the airtime it did through the 2nd half of the ride but the good news is it got retracked from the hill over the tunnel all the way to the turnaround and they FINALLY got rid of that pothole on the rise into that turnaround. Crowds were light and the rain held off. Most of the crowd was a school group from georgia. (Middle school drama is like OMG sooo amusing!!) Another livley group insisted on quotes from the movie "Boomerang" While riding Volcano STEEL VAGINA! Enjoy the pics, JEFF You like it! KA CHOW!!! Don't fret there is a new wavepool just as small (if not smaller than the old one) He makes flushing noises in his sleep BA WOOOOSH! Somebody will appreciate this pic some newness Still great! got 5 rides today line went down to the puddlefront Boo! Another gorgeous park day!

Great Tr Chuck! I know they don't have a bathroom by FOF but geez! I have felt like total dung this week and this weekend is no exception, I might try to tough it out today, I need my grizz fix! JEFF -
Yea dude, Great pics! I had a great time with you guys. Next time I won't forget my camera I was really impressed at the size of Griffon over EVERYTHING at the park. Also check out Chuck's great pics at the Griffon thread with pics of the sexy trains. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23063&start=630 JEFF

I remember all the fuss when Apollo was in the planning stages and BGW promised the residents that it would not be an "eye sore" from route 60 and it would be painted in "earth tone" colors. I don't know about you guys but nothing screams earth tone like bright yellow and purple! Suck it Kingsmill! JEFF

Very Cool Photo for a winter wallpaper. Thanks for sharing JEFF -
Well I finally remembered my camera while passing through Williamsburg today. Griffon is coming along nicely as you can see, the MCBR is complete as well as the 2nd drop. It looks like they just inserted a piece of the brake while we were passing and there is only one piece missing on the approach to the MCBR. It seems like this will be all you can see from the train but maybe I will be able to see the 2nd Immelman soon while the leaves are off the trees. Enjoy the pics (forgive the clarity, I was hanging out a train going 80mph ) JEFF from the overflow lots sadly from this angle the 2nd drop does not look 90* =( yea yea...through the trees Here you can clearly see them inserting a piece of the MCBR close up of previous pic She has already claimed her spot in BGE's skyline

Thanks for the suggestions everybody, Yea I forgot to mention that I really did not want to pay alot of money I actually really lucked out today. I went to Kmart for DK Jungle Beat for $5 (Big VG Clearance) and I found a 2 pack of Digital labs pads for $20 and they had a copy of DDR Extreme 2 for $10 (it retails for $40 everywhere else) So we will see how they do tonight hopefully they are alright. Thanks again everybody! (If these suck and we really like it I might spring for the official pads) JEFF

Me and my Wife wanted to try and lose weight together and this game seemed like a great way to lose a few pounds while having fun. I am sure like any video game special controller there are some winners and many losers out there as far as quality dance pads. So do you "Pro's" have any suggestions? TIA, JEFF
