I was there Saturday till about 3 and they were still working hard on it. Looking better but still aways to go still only 1 train on the track. here are some pics JEFF Station looks pretty good mmmm hurry up please This pic illustrates how they dug up the parking lot good and the ride sits about 6 ft below the lot New pathway looks a hell of alot better than the old one Finishing the pathway also you can see the transition from Orange to Yellow (no Fade in) white is the primer overview 4-26-08 They finished the new pathway to the other end today, it looks good!

Most new coasters do not have a lush green landscape under them right away. (It takes some time to grow) You can really tell that they do not want it to be like "Scream" at SFMM, (There is no Parking lot left under the ride) when you see it in person you can see the whole site Dominator sits on is about 6 feet deeper than the parking lot so there will definatly be an effort to landscape but I would not expect to see much on opening day. Most New coasters do not have grass under them right away. JEFF

Awesome update Clint thanks! Those trains are SEXY! I am so glad they did a COMPLETE overhaul of the trains (no sanded off batman symbol) I am sure once the painting is completed it will look brand new. I am very excited now, hopefully a month away from riding it (again) JEFF

After much trouble obtaining my new camera and having a beautiful HOT day I figured Me,my Dad and my Son would have a "dude" day and go to BGE. Pretty crowded for a Fri in April but with the nice weather it was expected (Sunny and temps around 90). With Aidan at the magic 42" mark he got to ride a couple new rides like Pompeii and Dark Kastle and of course his favorite ride at the park Big Bad Wolf. I was wondering how he would react to some of the rides (pretty Scary scenes on those rides for a 4 year old) and he thought they were so cool. He is much braver than I was at his age. Gremlins seemed to be reeking havoc on the rides today for some reason everything had some downtime as we walked around but all the coasters had 3 trains going (Except LNM) and lines moved well. all and all a great fun day at the park. I Found these pics on GeaugaLakeToday. Interesting how except for the roof and Wayne Manor decor the station is VERY similar but I don't think the Q will enter the station on the same side as it did in GL Very sad pictures of the old site. It looks like someone just clicked delete in RCT Although I am happy it is now only 35min from my home. JEFF sad site

Great update Clint thanks alot! The trims have been there since the ride was built in 2000. Both lift & CR trims have never been turned on to my knowledge. and the MCBR has always been very light (hoping it stays that way) I wish they would just paint the rails too, IMO it looks bad the way they spray the inside off the rails too where the ties are plus there is quite a bit of rust on the rails. There will be a "Refurbished path" to replace the old one that was behind Scooby Doo. Hypersonic is on the area behind Hurler and Grizzly (you can see pieces of it in the Hurler pic. Went up to KD today and found many many changes throughout the park. Of course the biggest changes in the park are the addition of Dominator and the removal of Hypersonic, most everything else was just simple sign changes and some landscaping. Crowds were pretty light and of course the biggest line was for Volcano. The "NEW" Forward Rebel Yell was undergoing some Track work so it was not open today. Well after almost 2 years since his 1st coaster http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25472 I thought he might have hit the 42" mark this winter so he could ride Big Bad Wolf. and he barely made it over so we got in line and about an hour later (45 min. breakdown) we were on and he loved it. He was not even intimidated by the harness (I thought he would be) but after it was done he said "that was so cool!!!" I was so proud. I wish we could have had more time for some rerides but time was running low and 2 little kids are high maint., But we have all summer . Aidan's coaster count is now at 5 Sorry I missed you Chuck, we were only there from 3-6 and only rode the train, BBW and Griffon 4 times in 25 min. As usual not one single change to the park (except for a couple of really rude and unhelpful employees). Here are some pics from the day. Well after hearing about the progress being made on Dominator. Me, Chris and my son Aidan thought it would be a perfect time to get our CF jackets and check on progress and Boom here it is. Why in the hell are they putting it up and then painting it??? I do see some track pieces painted in the back though. Good to finally see some real progress at the park (even though it is a month before opening.) You can see the orange painted on the track in the turn around. JEFF credit-coastercrew

Haha I meant the footage was old, It held up quite nice over the years. I think it was very well done for a young guy in 1981 way before it was "normal" to film coasters. Great job JEFF

I hope you are kidding. While it is an awesome experience going 0-80mph in under 2 seconds, the rest of the ride is just total crap now. even the big hill has got very violent this year. Trust me....there are sooo many better coasters than XLC on the East coast. JEFF

Well looks like it might be official now. I had heard a report a couple weeks ago that XLC was being dismantled but I wanted to wait till a little more evidence surfaced. XLC has been removed from the website (but the Dominator headline still advertises it as the 14th coaster....probably an oversight) http://www1.cedarfair.com/kingsdominion/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=13 I can see XLC's hill from the Train (Amtrak) and as of last week it was still standing but this is starting to look like a reality now. It was fun the 1st couple of times but it has really got old quick...oh well. JEFF

I don't know for sure but maybe they have photo eyes that detect when somebody enters a pool of water like that. I know at Kings Dominion at the International street fountains they have them on all corners of the fountain and if anybody enters the pool it shuts down. JEFF p.s. what an idiot
