  1. In regards to certain conditions affect the ride. I have found that high/steady winds really affect the performance of Arrow/Morgan hypers. I can see why people love the ride and I can see why people do not like the ride. Hype is a very bad thing for coasters IMO. If all you hear is the ride is the absolute best and the bar is sooo high, chances are you are gonna be disappointed. I plan to ride SROS/Bizarro for the first time this year and I have this terrible feeling I am gonna get off it going meh. (but I hope I don't) It still cracks me up that no matter what coaster forum you go to people will still tell you your opinion is wrong JEFF
  2. I do think it is great that CP did something for Magnum. It really did need a sign. (before you had to take the Spaceman's word for it). I really like magnum alot but there are things that irk me about it. For the most part it is a fast airtime filled ride with a great location and no MCBR to break up the action. JEFF
  3. I am digging the new angles from the Wheel. Looks great, can't wait to see it at night. Awesome pics again man JEFF
  4. Went out to the park for a few hours today (gorgeous weather/ 71 & Sunny) the crowds showed up in droves! easily the busiest I have seen the place during spring break week. Volcano filled the Q and even Anaconda's line went down to the pier. Americana did open today but the line was huge and I was by myself so I passed. A lot of families there today really did enjoy the new rides. I think they did a great job placing Americana where they did and it is gonna look great at night. JEFF
  5. awesome sunset pic dude. sucks about the crappy weather on Saturday but at least you had a beautiful day on Sunday. I really want to ride cobra with the new trains. I can really see Hersheypark looking at these for the future. (if they update Wildcat why not Sidewinder?) Man I need to ride a coaster. JEFF
  6. Honestly I watch the Footage discs more than the expedition discs (just my preference) But I appreciate the awesome editing job in the expedition discs. I would like to keep it the same way as it is now. JEFF
  7. Truly AWESOME PICS! Thank you soooo much for sharing. any chance we can get the full size pics somewhere? a few of those are easily wallpaper shots! JEFF
  8. Thanks for the TR, how were the lines for Goliath? it looked dead. JEFF
  9. Good to see it testing already. Looks fantastic. BUT remember it is still very cold and everything was Off. If it ran like that in the summer it would be awesome but I do not see that happening. I don't think they will be testing the trims till it gets more warmed up. just my thoughts JEFF
  10. That pic is Wilde Beaste at CW, No question but the original pic is mirrored. I know my Grizz (and her clone) http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://image03.webshots.com/3/4/62/73/73746273ysYWDO_fs.jpg&imgrefurl=http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1073746273046380312ysYWDO&usg=__aRgdrd6aw6gMPi58abPZ34fD6Ho=&h=960&w=1280&sz=234&hl=en&start=7&sig2=AAqdeh3WCew_Q67_IUdzmg&um=1&tbnid=sEUEhHadOij5ZM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&ei=Y5WoSfnXJIzcnQfW-LTnDw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwild%2Bbeast%2Bcanada%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN Sorry for the long link but that is a similar angle without the first drop. It looks like they have reprofiled it a little since 1998 when I was there that hill was not that banked when I rode it. JEFF
  11. Thanks for the update Chuck, Aidan will be excited he will get at least one new credit this year. JEFF
  12. I went to the VA state fair in 2006 and took lots of night pics. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29770 Hope this helps JEFF
  13. Cool pics, thanks for the update. Does anybody know what the 4 little holes drilled in each crosstie is for? Never noticed it before on this coaster or any other B&M. JEFF
  14. OK I got most of my oldies scanned. I know I have more somewhere but here are some of the ones I have that are mostly really old. (to me at least) This first one I think is hysterical because the park looks like a total DUMP! in the picture when usually most postcards are picture perfect. JEFF not hard to find but easily one of my Favorites at least it worked Didnt get to ride it but I saw it back when Wildcat was the ONLY thing past Tidal force back when this was everyones #1 oldie Predator before ROS when Shockwave had a cool paint job a few pics of RY with the 2 position bars I really liked the Name Hurricane Reef (Very Original) sucks they changed it These next few are from 1993 (right after Paramount bought them) W.E.C....... Super Genius bad ride/ cool postcard the Zinger When Timber Wolf was world class This was a good Arrow coaster In case you did not know what a Kumba looked like Before it sucked Scrapped =( GL Before Nick Universe Before it was 6 Flags America it was.... I really miss her (I might not miss it so much if they would have replaced it with something good there) More Drachen fire (better DF postcards on previous page) Big Bad Stoner Wolf Galaxi a better look at the corkscrew Memories.. this is when the Pavilion was half the size it was before its demise. The star attractions were an arrow corckscrew and a Galaxi what the hell happened to the park? postcard from 1991
  15. yes it is a postcard, It is odd that there was no logo or anything. I have found my stash of postcards, probably take a whole day to scan them all but I will add some here and there. JEFF
  16. Just caught up on looking at all of these. Fantastic collection Mark!! I have a few of those. I have a few I have scanned I will post now but I will try to dig out more of my oldies. I always love collecting postcards from the parks I visit....sadly they are harder and harder to find now. Great thread though. JEFF Cool pic of Thunder run before the Heavy reprofile Will never see them interlocking again..... so sad moment of silence I promised myself I wouldn't cry Anaconda postcard from 1992 (notice no waterpark)
  17. Hmm last time I rode it in October the only thing that worked was the burst of flame before the tunnel. -onboard audio was ripped out prior to 2008 -I have not seen the the bullet/water sprays since opening weekend of the ride in 2006 -All the times I went in 2008 I think I saw the Helicopter work maybe twice -Police lights do not even light up anymore. -Most of the time the splash is a slight dribble. Opening day 2006 was the only time I have seen every effect working. It does have/had some cool effects but when most of them are never running or are gone now it is hard to award it with the best effects. JEFF
  18. The fire comes out right when a train is dispatched (one or 2 big bursts of flameage) so the fire is gone by the time (24 seconds later) you get there but you can smell propane sometimes. You do not see it when you are on it but you can here it or if it is night you can see the glow. Out of all the effects KD/PKD have installed I am really glad they have maintained and kept this one running consistently for over 10 years. JEFF
  19. I would only Sacrifice ride time at my home parks. You would never see me with a Tripod at CP or SFgrtadv. Pics are nice but riding is more important. JEFF
  20. Most digital Cameras have a night setting and the more advance cameras have an option where you can adjust the shutter speed. But the key to great night pictures is to have a Tripod. You may look like a big geek (like me) carrying one around a park at night but that is the price you pay if you want good night pics. As for Dominator being disappointing? I wonder what they were expecting? yea it doesn't have a zero G roll (go to Volcano) but it has many unique features (doing more than just inversion after inversion) for a B&M looper that IMO make it one of the best. /\ which one did you use for your dektop? Thanks for all the compliments, JEFF
  21. continued thanks for looking ohhhh ahhh it started pouring rain so these were taken from the parking lot in my van Some fireworks pics from July 5th I still love our fountains I dig the new sign more mooning hurray for chasers I love Dominator cause it is VERY unique for a B&M looper its the ghostlight!!! another favorite lucky to have our guest star with us tonight....the moon
  22. As you can imagine I was excited about our new Chainlift coaster this year and took many pictures of it over the summer. I never really did a TR but I thought these pics were too good not to share and since it is the middle of winter and not too many pics posted, I thought I would share them now. Here is a link to the High quality versions of these pics http://jeaa.smugmug.com/gallery/5504223_7uUSK#336798304_5tTKH Enjoy, JEFF more to come Probably one of my favorite pics ever I am glad we finally got some chasing lights back in the park in case you forget purdy Probably my Favorite first drop on a B&M looper not only is it one of the biggest, Its one of the best Excited/Scared faces never get old The Loop It's a Hot ride I want to get this shot again in the morning when the lighting is better. Sweet
  23. Honestly I think they do an excellent job of maintaining Grizzly. My last rides in October were fantastic. Very Fast and as smooth as an aggressive coaster can be. Which puzzle's me to no end is why the brutal hairpins on Hurler have NEVER been fully retracked since the ride's opening (usually they replace the top layer and that is it). Rebel Yell got some work this past winter/spring which made the ride better but the Valley before the turnaround is still brutal on both sides. JEFF
  24. Just finished my footage DVD up and mailing my DVD off today. About 37 minutes worth of stuff. Bumping the thread so people do not forget to send in what they got. The more unique footage the better. Thanks again Robb for the generous offer. JEFF
