  1. Mirabilandia & Phantasialand owned by the same group - Well I never knew that :o Both parks are well looked after & well run, so I guess the clues were there. Phantasialand does need a big coaster like a B&M Inverted to make the park almost complete. I think I'm right in saying it will be the first B&M inverted & only the second B&M in Germany It will sure beat the SLC's in Germany
  2. ^^ Robb, I hope you enjoy Katun - when you go to Mirabilandia. Nemesis had always been up there as number 1 coaster for me, until I rode other coasters around the world... but Nemesis was still the #1 inverted until I rode Katun last year. The huge first drop & vertical loop are awesome, the cobra roll is a little rough but who cares about that It has high G's ,not as much as the Batman Clones. Again it comes down to personal preferances of coasters.
  3. I have voted for the one in Madrid. I have only been on that 1 & the SF:MM version. The only reason I voted for the one in Madrid is 1) It is the one I have been on the most recent. 2) There was no queues for it
  4. Yes I'm 99.9 % sure you will change it to Katun. It's a fantastic coaster
  5. Well Rita is now semi open ... Look here for pictures & video http://www.towersalmanac.com/features/rita/constructionsite/ritaconstruction.html Why am I not eager to get this coaster? :?

  7. I think this will be good news for the Tussauds Parks (Hopefully!). More investment can then be put in for new attactions etc. Heide Park for a long time now has been rumoured to be a getting a Intamin Aqua Trax coaster. Not so sure on the future plans for the UK parks owned by Tussauds, except for the Rocket coaster at Thorpe Park. Maybe we will even see another park coming into the Tussaud 'family'
  8. Just been looking at the pictures, some very good pictures there. The one of Oblivlion and the train falling with the sun behind it, is fantastic
  9. I hope this helps a little ... The 2 times I've been to Six Flags Holland, we've always gone to Harderwijk rather than Lelystad. This is because we have come via Rotterdam. This service is pretty good and ran a 30 min interval to the park. You could get a combined bus fare/ entrance fee from the bus driver - it even worked out cheaper to do it this way. I can go into further details on the bus from Harderwijk if you wish.... We did see other buses at the park, which we assumed went to Lelystad. These buses are 'bendy' buses ( 1 1/2 buses in one, with a rubber bendy bit third of away from the back) . I think! They run a similar type of service. Robb, yes I agree Goliath is fantastic at the front, you get far more air time there, at the back the 'Stinger Dive' is far more fun. I love Goliath where ever I sit on it tho
  10. Wow ! Pulls 4.7G, 1.7 more than Nemesis or 0.2 more than Oblivlion (stats from RCDB) - who cares? I'd rather have a fun & interesting ride than 4.7G I'll pass final judgement on the coaster, when I've been on it.... I'm expecting the launch will be great, the rest will be boring...
  11. I've just found this coaster on RCDB There even proud to call the world's shortest coaster ! WTF? Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you Teeny-Weeny http://www.rcdb.com/ig1552.htm?picture=2
  12. Happy birthday Mr David Morton - one of us few UK chappies on here. Also happy birthday 'unkadug'
  13. If I remember correctly, Does'nt Villian use Gerstlauer trains? Thinking out loud here If GL get desperate for spares or even a car of train, could they swap between rides? Raging Wolf Bobs was closed, when I went there ... mind you it was a Six Flags park back then I'm semi looking forward in get a ride on it now
  14. Good old english public at there best Highest parts of the track have already had complaints from locals, so they have had to paint the track to blend it in more http://www.towersalmanac.com/features/rita/constructionsite/gallery/march/05/01.html What a load of crap
  15. Yes I count coasters that I've rode at fairs. However when I went to Foire Du Trone in Paris, last year. I did not ride the Reverchon Spinning Wild Mouse there, Just in case I had been on it before. Highly unlikely that I had... But as I've been on those types of coasters before, I'd rather save my cash and go on the coasters & spin rides that I had not been on before. The coaster we mainly went there for was King, A large none looping coaster made by Soquet. Link here > http://www.ukridesvideos.myqth.co.uk/king.htm
  16. The 'Tubs' at Joyland is powered in places. True Virginia Wheels, like the ones in RCT are gravity powered. An example here http://naid.sppsr.ucla.edu/venice/mapsdocs/kp-map7.htm The two parks in Great Yarmouth, are walking distances from each other, I'd say about 15 mins
  17. Euro Mir is a cool coaster. It's the not best coaster in the park by a long way but still is fun. I liked Euro Sat more than Euro Mir tho. X:/ No Way Out is just rubbish Oh no ! some has mentioned the snails at Joyland in Great Yarmouth. I know there is this never ending debate on what is & what not a coaster. But counting the snails has a credit is going too far. You then might as well count any Haunted House ride etc I like to point that I have not been on the snails ride, but have been on the Tyrolean Tubs http://rcdb.com/ig884.htm and do count that has a coaster
  18. I've heard of this coaster, but what does it actually do RCDB does not give very much away. Some of the other coasters been mentioned here are high on the WTF ?factor, there mainly 'production' models. Dragon Flyer is unique Yes I think the wood laid along the track is how the coaster is powered , via a wheel within the dragon Cobra at Admiral Vrungel looks cool, How does it launch?
  19. Some of you guys may not be aware of this coaster. I think it's one of the silliest or most interesting coasters I've been on It's the Dragon Flyer at Camelot Theme Park, here in the UK http://www.rcdb.com/pd277.htm The coaster is a petrol (gasoline) powered. There's some kind of engine (go kart?) situated in the dragon (front car) and a ride op controls the speed of it etc, as it goes along its track. Heres a couple of pics... The coaster in the station, The controls
