Best Theme Park Chain
nemesis-storm replied to vertgforces's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had to vote for Tussauds. As they are the chain that own the parks I visit the most. Like all the chains listed they have there problems in certain areas. I personally rate Tussauds higher than Six Flags & Disney. Currently I have not been to enough parks run by Cedar Fair to comment on them, but was very impressed by Cedar Point. All the Star Parks were run by Six Flags, when I have visited them so again cannot make judgement. The other chains listed I've not been to any of the parks yet -
Looks like Mr Skunky (yes the hand puppet ) is becoming a little famous. He goes to the odd theme park from time to time. He originally came from Alton Towers (The shop by the River Rapid's & Run Away Mine Train if you know Alton Towers). He's filmed enjoying some great airtime on Tonnerre De Zeus at Parc Asterix. If you plan to have a few rides on Cyclone you may want to consider getting there Pay once wrist band for $21.99 Cyclone is $5 for first ride & $4 for re-rides. Theres also a coupon on the Astroland site for $3 off the wristband during the week. Another tip - dont get conned by the game sellers along the boardwalk close to the park Paul "Going there again for the Pinfari 'big apple' coaster" Chapman

Vekoma Woodies?
nemesis-storm replied to Coasterkid20's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry but why are we mentioning Mean Streak & CCI woodies on a topic about Vekoma Woodies I'd rather go on a poor Vekoma woodie than Mean Streak any day -
Vekoma Woodies?
nemesis-storm replied to Coasterkid20's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've also just rode Loup Garou & Robin Hood. Out of the two, I personally think Loup Garou is far better. It has a great first drop & some good airtime ... Robin Hood is O.K - mega slow lift hill - has an interesting layout to it. A word on the trains - I think there better than Gerstlauer trains, but there not great ... Has anyone else been on Robin Hood & had the Donut shaped lap bar slam down onto you legs when going down the first drop? Paul "PTC trains are the best trains for woodies" Chapman -

I've already kind of asked this question http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1317 There is a bus from the Port Authority Bus Station next to Penn railway station in Manhattan to SF:Great Adventure directly. It's run by NJ transit - website is http://www.njtransit.com/nn_sp_sixFlags.shtml I'm trying to find out if there is a bus (used to be one from Trenton) to the park, that gets there at opening time

The most rare coaster credits

I count the 2 Vekoma's at Fantasy Island, Skegness rare ! A slight puff of wind and the coasters are shut It took one of my mates 6 attempts in visiting that park to get a go on both of them. So far I've only been the once & they were shut Hope to go there again in August for another chance in getting a ride on them. -

As some of you are aware 'Cllins', myself & a few others are over in the USA in June. After our road trip to various parks we're heading back to New York for a couple of days. On one of these days the plan is go to SF:Great Adventure. As we will no longer have a hire car ( We're not that mad to drive around Manhattan) we need to get to the park via public transport. I already found details of the bus (route #308) that goes from Manhattan to the Park. However this bus gets to the park after it has opened, as we're all keen to get Q-bots - this maybe be too late I did find last year details of a bus (route #310) that went from a placed called Trenton to the park. The idea was to catch a train to from Manhattan to Trenton, then catch a bus from there, hopefully getting at the park at opening time Now looking on the New Jersey Transits website http://www.njtransit.com/nn_sp_sixFlags.shtml there no mention of this bus service. Does anyone have details of this bus service? Does it still run at all? Or any info would be useful Thanks Paul " at worse we get the bus from Manhattan" Chapman

Have they done anything to the large amount of land close to Colossos ?. When I was there last September, they had large earth moving equipment flattening this land.
