  1. I see what you mean, and I am in the "The world is too PC" boat. I dunno, I just think that people should lighten up and laugh a little - I hardly believe that five year olds are going to end up as sexists because of a joke in a Looney Tunes cartoon.
  2. Honestly, it's going to take a LOT, and I mean a hell of a lot for this event to up Halloween Horror Nights for me. Brent, I know we've hashed this out over AIM millions of times, but I still just can't get excited for this event! The last time I went the lines were long, it smelled like pot, the mazes weren't scary, the monsters were out of character, and it was friggin expensive! I just... have no legitimate reason to go back. Not when there's a WAY better even just down the freeway. Just my two cents, hope I'm not pooping the party too early this year;).
  3. You're offended by the Looney Tunes? God help us...
  4. Just my Disneyland pass, the cheap-o So Cal Select!
  5. Did you do the Knights Tournament ride? Because that's the most bomb thing in the entire park!
  6. Agreed! It seems that pretty much every preschooler show (with the exception of Sesame Street) is pretty faddish! I can't think of one show (besides the a fore mentioned Sesame Street) that my sister watched when she was that age (about six years ago) that's still popular today... Personally I think the parks should either come up with more of their own characters (Mr. Six) or really embrace the Looney Tunes thing. As for Tidal Wave being removed, I have no problem with it. The Log Ride and Arrowhead Splashdown (I can never remember the real name) have always been much more desirable attractions, for me anyway.
  7. The Matterhorn at Disneyland a week ago Friday :]. The headchopper on the Tomorrowland Side gets me everytime:).
  8. ^ Sorry, that's like blaming the teachers or school system for kid's not trying in school. Whether there are consequences for negligence, it's the employees JOB (literally) to be courteous and put their best foot forward. Don't blame the corporate model for employee's behavior.
  9. ^ That's what I heard as well. That the angle on the lift is messed up, or something of that nature, so they may need to have new track pieces fabricated.. Take that with a grain of salt, of course.
  10. Oh, thanks man! I feel embarrassed that I never caught that myself .
  11. Disneyland may not have one central theme (Unless you count Disney as a central theme, which I suppose you could) but what it does have are a few very well themed areas that don't bleed into one another, which is why it's so immersive. That's what's wrong (In my opinion) with California Adventure. You just have all these "themed areas" that aren't well themed to begin with, and there's no real beginning or end, it just all kind of.. stirs together. So, I'd say Electerik is right in that it's not due to a lack of a CENTRAL theme, but more that none of the various "themes" work in themselves. That's my opinion anyway.
  12. The X2 add-on thing really irks me, but if they feel that's what they gotta do.. Then that's what they gotta do. Terminator looks really neat, and I look forward to getting out there opening day. Thanks for the update Robb, as well as the prices for the flash passes - you have no idea how much trouble I had looking for the prices on their website, haha. Jake "Doesn't really NEED a flashpass.. but he wants to use one so bad!" Sundstrom
  13. I would definitely suggest renting a car, because you've heard correctly, our Public Transit system is close to useless. I put the five parks (six if you count California Adventure) on a map, which you can see (EDIT: Well, this link is being a jerk, I'll just PM it to you.) That's just to give you an idea of where everything is in relation to Disneyland (Location A on the map) if you do end up staying at the Disneyland hotel. I hope that helped a little bit! -Jake "Have an awesome trip!" Sundstrom
  14. One of my friends texted me yesterday and said "Does Knott's Berry Farm really have ten coasters? I can only count nine..." So people are noticing, but I can't really say they'll get "upset" over it. I mean, it's just a commercial, we've all been lied to by those before .
  15. ^ Clearly Six Flags sees something in this rehabilitation that you don't.
  16. So far.. too awesome for words... MORE WHEELIE! :]] Edit: Crap, you beat me.
  17. ^ While that may be true, I don't think ten million dollars will buy you an El Toro.. at least not when you consider the cost of tearing it down.
  18. Cedar Point got turned off by theming when Disaster Transport didn't go over well .
  19. Aftershave, or Flight Deck, or.. whatever they're calling it at Carowinds valleyed recently too I believe. Wind, I think is the primary factor.
  20. Disney magic is combustible! Duh man... Or maybe the Rock 'n' Roll power of Aerosmith started it?
  21. I didn't care for Superbad much at all, so I'm glad that this is straying away from that type of film. I'll probably see it later this week.
  22. Awesome first part of the trip report. I like that you add some "personal flavor" to it :]. Jake "Looking forward to part two!" Sundstrom
  23. Awesome trip report! It's lots of fun reading about parks I've never been to, seen, or heard about for that matter. Now, I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly (I will admit now my knowledge of flat rides is slim to nil) but does the drop tower actually push you down? As opposed to letting gravity "do it's things".
  24. Cool shots of a park I don't know too much about, the write up was very interesting as well! Poor Afterburn, first it's name.. now it's hangover... the poor guy can't catch a break.
