  1. Actually, $300K doesn't seem like too much of a raise compared to what other executives get.
  2. If you drive through Richmond, Va pick me up. I need 10 Hershey credits. Oooo, then we could meet up with Hercules at Dorney on Sunday.
  3. Skylark, I'm with you on the Ga Cyclone hate. If I ever get back down to a respectable (not so fat) size I'll give it a whirl. Until then, Ga Cyclone = no fun for Redfoot
  4. I haven't been to the Va State Fair in like 16 years. I'll probably go next year.
  5. Excited to be a part of the Midwest trip. Who wants to buy me beer on my birthday (8/6)? Will be nice to meet all the out-of-town coaster weirdos!
  6. I didn't ride Alpengeist until '99 so I never rode it during the mythical year of 1997. I've heard people talk about how great the ride once was before it was trimmed all to hell.
  7. Glad you liked BG. I've only been on two B&M inverteds, Alpengeist and Batman:TR (SFoG) so maybe I'm not the best person to chime in. I know people talk about the whip effect from the back but I didn't notice it too much on Alpengeist. I personally like the front on Alpie because you can see more. I think it's a great ride overall but this may change as I ride more inverteds (Dueling Dragons and Montu next month). However, front row at night was spectacular! I love Apollo's and it's currently my #1 overall. Welcome to Virginia!
  8. It definitely comes in waves in terms of my interest. I loved roller coasters when I was about 6-8. Then I kind of lost interest until I was about 12 when I got my first season pass to KD. If there had been an internet back then I would have obssessed about Anaconda opening in 1991. Working at KD killed my interest for a while but I really got into things again when I was about 22-25. Then there was a period of time where I didn't go to a theme park until this year. Now I'm almost as obssessed as when I was 14.
  9. I was coerced into this (I'm Superman). Felt better when I saw some folks do something similar for S:UF at SFoG...
  10. I agree which is why I wanted to start this thread. I only have 38 credits and I was thinking about all the coasters of yore I'd never get to ride (good or bad). I hope to be able to get on Python as I still don't have an Arrow Corkscrew credit. Edit to add: Another thing that was on my mind that's somewhat related... Do most enthusiasts count a relocated coaster as a credit? For example I've already ridden Wilde Maus at BGE. When I go to BGA next month and ride Cheetah Chase, is that another credit for me?
  11. I haven't been to MB in ages. Looks like fun although I probably won't go down until the new park opens up. I feel you on the Sonic. There are Sonics all over my state but not one within 40 miles of where I live (in Richmond). There used to be one somewhat closeby but it closed down years ago.
  12. I only have one for sure and possibly three. 1) Drachen Fire others I'm not sure about... 1) King Kobra (KD)--this one has been moved several times but I'm not sure of its current status 2) Galaxie (KD)--same deal as with KK Mods--if there is a similar topic please close
  13. Hmm. Shouldn't the prize be a free pair of tickets to the chiropractor? I'm not a fan of going on woodies from the 70's backwards.
  14. Nice picture of Steel Force. Can't wait until I hit up those parks. All those shiny new credits and only 5 hours from Richmond!
  15. Well, that's just not fair. (I'm 6'2) If it matters, I was able to squeeze onto Superman: Ride of Steel at SFA. I wasn't very comfortable and I had to take off my shoes but I shoehorned myself onto that puppy (after being turned away several times).
  16. I wanted to go to Mary Washington, mainly for the excellent girl to guy ratio. Looks like you had fun at BG. I dreamed about getting the kinds of crowds you had on the 4 trips I've been there this year.
  17. This old fogey's going to try to lose some weight so he can fit on all the Intamins at Cedar Point. I heard you need like a 28" waist to get on Wicked Twister.
  18. Funny stuff, but it still doesn't beat Bart and Lisa's ride on the Tooth-Chipper!
  19. Alpengeist (for the 86th time)
  20. I hope to catch it next month. My first Arrow corkscrew! (exciting, I know)
  21. Wrebbit is our resident Steel Dragon 2000 fanboy, thus his signature pic.
  22. Looks like I may be flying to Minneapolis before Cincy next August.. Off-topic--Is Gwazi really that bad?
  23. Cool--if I went on the 2007 Midwest TPR trip I was thinking about doing a detour to Michigan Adventure, either before or after. Now I might skip MA until they get another coaster and just focus on either Valleyfair! or going out to Missouri to hit SDC, SFSTL, or WoF.
  24. Thanks for the info. Since I'm going up with non-coaster enthusiasts, I'll probably have to settle for the Cyclone on this trip (and possibly a jaunt to Great Adventure which would be awesome because I really want to compare Nitro to Goliath and Apollo's). When I'm driving again I want to come back up and hit most of the Northeastern parks/coasters. It's funny how someone on one of these boards included the Virginia parks when describing a possible trip. Looking forward to Boulder Dash and the SFNE S:ROS in 2007 or 2008.
