  1. Helping my friends move, possibly buying a new car, and perhaps a trip to Busch Gardens. I wouldn't mind seeing if they've done anything with Griffon since I went a couple of weeks ago.
  2. Ha--I have about 32 total steel credits and while I thought Mindbender was a fine ride, if it's the 19th best steel coaster in the world then I might be in for boat loads of disappointment as I pursue my credits over the next couple of years.
  3. I'd love to do one of the overseas trips but I think I should get my feet wet on the Midwest trip first. I always had plans to do a trip like that (the Midwest) and this offers me the perfect chance. I talked to my friends about possibly doing one but I don't think any of them have their heart in it like I do. This trip expands/alters on my original idea as I was going to do a road trip to Cincy and then go up to do the Geauga Lake and Cedar Point. My return trip had me doing some of the Pennsylvania parks (Kennywood, Dorney, Knoebels, and Hershey) on the way back to Virginia. Assuming I make this trip, I can now plan a separate PA trip. Overseas in 2008!
  4. Uh-Oh Elissa, Now how are you going to stem the tide of all the "Did you receive my PayPal payment?" questions?
  5. I think I already wrote my personal "No thank you, sir" response from these guys in how I dealt with my Paypal deposit.
  6. Nice TR. It just reaffirms my impression of SFA--some great coasters, crappy park. At least you got to ride Joker's Jinx (closed when I was there in June). Never been on J2. Maybe I'll do that next year. I usually go to the Jersey Shore Memorial Day weekend.
  7. Guess I'm going to have to wait until next year on this when I get my license back. Ted--there will be a next year...right???
  8. I don't know. He seems like a totally legit poster. He joined today. All of his posts have been in the Griffon thread. They've also all been either inflammatory or intentional misinformation. He seems ok.
  9. I've only been on four of the inverteds listed but my favorite is Alpengeist. 1) Alpengeist 2) Volcano 3) Batman (SFoG) 4) Vekoma SLC--Mind Eraser Possibly may get a chance to ride Great Bear, Dueling Dragons, and Montu before the end of the year.
  10. I'm pleased with it as well. pkdcoaster-- see you at BGE in late spring?

  12. Tex, So what would be the point of the countdown?
  13. This all sounds like a blast and I too was planning a trip to Cedar Point next summer. Midwest for me!
  14. I guess my longest was about 5-6 years. I went to Busch Gardens in October of 2000. Didn't ride another roller coaster until May of this year. I mainly didn't go because of monetary reasons and I never really thought about it. I'm trying to make up for lost time. I've been to four different parks this year and I still want to hit up a few more. I've added 18 coasters to my track record this summer and I'd like to get my overall record in the 40's or maybe top out at 50 by the end of the year.
  15. I'm headed to BGE this weekend. Will be on the lookout for anything newsworthy. Will probably pick up my 2007 Season Pass as well.
  16. I'm definitely interested in going but cannot drive up there. Is there anyone on here from Richmond, Va or passing through that might be able pick up a straggler? Please PM me if there are any willing volunteers. Thanks!
  17. I didn't see a thread like this so I thought I'd start one. How many different coasters have you been on this year? I've been on 28 different coasters from four different parks. I'd like to reach 50 before the end of the year, but that's doubtful.
  18. Love the B&M hypers's seats. My least favorite was the Superman: Ride of Steel. I really had to shove my legs in there to fit. Are Millennium Force's seats similar to S:ROS's? I plan to go to Cedar Point next summer.
  19. Hmm, I'll force him at gunpoint to fly me so I can take 1337 aerial shots and I'll get all the credit.
  20. What about those brothers from CoasterGallery.com, Joel and Jeff Rogers? At least one of them is a pilot and took some aerial shots of Valleyfair.
  21. It pains me to say it (and it pained me to ride it) but...Shockwave at PKD.
  22. It's interesting to think of what the landscape for Virginia parks would be if Disney's America had gone through. Would BGE have gotten such and such a ride, how PKD might have progressed, would Six Flags have tried to snatch up Adventure World (SFA).
  23. I remember this as well. I was very excited at the time but somehow knew it would never happen.
  24. Forgot about the Great Escape. Do you guys who are familiar with the area speculate that this park will be razed and sold as property or kept as a theme park? It would be a shame to lose Superman.
