  1. I like this move by CF. I was against this ride when it went up in 2000-01. KD has so many of these small steel coasters (not one of the park's steelies breaks the 3,000 ft mark). I didn't even ride this one until this past year and I got a nice headache. Good riddance and I hope this paves the way for something nicer down the road.
  2. woo-hoo! guess it's on to the theming part of the ride
  3. I bet an Intamin prefab woodie could make a loop work...
  4. ^ Change is inevitable. I never heard anyone say anything about the loop being so awesome on this ride until they announced they were taking it away.
  5. Isn't this the same technology (LSM) that's being used with Maverick?
  6. Give it to Six Flags America!
  7. meh--I like Ben & Jerry's more
  8. is there any other? (Hunt's fans need not apply)
  9. I'll bite: (in order I visited them) Kings Dominion Magic Kingdom EPCOT Busch Gardens Europe Universal Studios Florida (all of the following were in 2006) Six Flags America Six Flags Over Georgia Islands of Adventure Busch Gardens Africa Disney-MGM Disney's Animal Kingdom SeaWorld Orlando In 2007, I hope to hit Dorney, Hershey, Knoebels, SFGAdv, Carowinds, and Dollywood along with the TPR Midwest trip.
  10. I have a Wii preordered and will pick it up on Sunday, along with Metal Slug Anthology and ExciteTruck. I was convinced I was going to buy a PS3 but there are no games I want for it and MGS4 won't be out for at least a year (hopefully by then the price will have gone down by at least $100). Plus, the first batch will probably fail from overheating anyway.
  11. I'm the classic yo-yo diet fiend. I've followed Body for Life and when I do I lose about 35-40 pounds in the first 3 months. Then I slack off. I'm probably in the 290-300 range (I'm 6'2) and want to get down to 225 for the Midwest trip. I recently went to Orlando and was usually able to fit on all the rides without resorting to the fat seat. I did get rejected when one attendant on Fire Dragon didn't even try to staple me in and another time on Incredible Hulk. Congrats to the folks that are working it.
  12. I see disappointment in many people's futures.
  13. Am I allowed to ask what Valhalla (and where) is or will someone force me to look it up on google?
  14. My favorite is Ripsaw Falls, followed closely by Bilge Rat Barges. I also have a soft spot for the defunct Haunted River at KD. Thank you, Volcano for decimating my childhood.
  15. I just got back from Orlando on Monday and I miss it already...
  16. I'm... 20 minutes from KD 45 minutes from BGE and about 2.5 hours from SFA I consider both KD and BGE my home parks.
  17. Definites: BGE throughout 2007 PKD a few times in 2007 Midwest TPR in August* Planned: SFGAdv--April* Dorney*, Hershey*, Knoebels*--Spring SFA--May? Possible: Carowinds*--June? Dollywood*--Fall? * = new for me including all parks on the Midwest trip
  18. Kraken. I rode it 9 times on Monday. That'll be my last coaster until 2007.
  19. Hypers for me. Top 10 B&M's 1) Apollo's Chariot 2) Goliath (SFoG) 3) Kumba 4) SheiKra 5) Dueling Dragon (Fire) 6) Kraken 7) Montu 8 )Alpengeist 9) Superman: Ultimate Flight (SFoG) 10) Incredible Hulk
  20. Great trip report, guys! I haven't been to KD in the fall since I was in grade school.
  21. Well, dag. I'm visiting the park next week but I'll be missing out on this credit. Still waiting on my first Arrow corkscrew...
  22. I also couldn't find Pedroland on the site when I clicked on the link... He wins.
  23. There seems to be some dispute about whether Wild One qualifies as one of the oldest (because fires, rebuild, relocation, and reprofiling) so I guess my next oldest one is GASM at SFoG--1973. Not very old. I'm sticking with Wild One for now.
