  1. At this point in construction I can't believe the whole aquatrax vs. wingwalker thing is still going... Wasn't that like 180 pages ago? It would jsut suck to see so many people dissapointed off false hype if the thing has standard multilooper trains. (which is fine by me!) I'll be happy either way, it's got LIMs, so far one airtime hill and now inversions. It's already looking sharp. Could be some completely new Intamin train for all we know. I hope they announce the ride after the trackwork is complete, everyone's still having way too much fun guessing.
  2. That is an unusual (and unfortunate!) situation. For one, how did he fall out of his car and second, how did a haunted house car manage to kill him? Weird stuff.
  3. Has anyone ever done BGE and Dollywood on a single trip? About how far away are they from eachother?
  4. What a gentleman, he's going to date the coaster before he rides it. The one I'm really looking forward to at that particular park is Raging Bull.
  5. Sorry to hear that, bro. There's always the swiss steel out there.
  6. ^ Please no! Not this discussion again!
  7. Interesting name. I'll have to download the track when I get to my non-work computer.
  8. Getting back on topic... was the zero-g roll completed today? (If that is in fact what it is)
  9. I don't see a problem when this happens but how can it make a "joyful" experience? It's just coming down a little bit more... One ride where it's very uncomfortable for this to happen is SFNE's Catapult and presumably Thorpe's Slammer S&S Sky Swatters) The restraints constantly push down the entire ride squeezing the air out of you. I know people who will never ride one again just because of this fact.
  10. I hope to 01 drawer will pay homage to the simplest and greatest house ever - Pitch Black!
  11. I haven't been on Air... but my favorite of the rest of them is definately Tatsu. I'm not ashamed to say that it is in my top 10 out of 200+ steel coasters. I guess that makes me a B&M fanboy.
  12. And that Mr Hydes was actually bought from my then homepark Rocky Point in Warwick, RI. It was in bad shape before it got to Geuaga. Good luck to its next buyer!
  13. Nice, another inversion. There's a diff. between zero-g rolls and barrel/heartline rolls. A heartline roll twists around in a perfect straight spiral where a zero-g roll curves up while diving upside down creating a zero g sensation. Not trying to be anal, just saying that's what he might have been talking about... I'm hoping this is just an LIM launched multilooper and nothing too exotic. An air hill, twisted curves, and now inversions - and vert. construction's barely even started!
  14. I agree. Inverters are the most painful and pointless rides around. I used to go on SFNE's until I came to my sense and couldn't tolerate it's aging to an even worse state.
  15. It's a joke, much like the rest of this thread. They're talking about the dumpster (?) that's sitting in that pool of dirty water.
  16. I think they're talking about SFMM... but I wouldn't be all worried just yet about it leaving town.
  17. WoF is going to cost more but they clearly have the better coasters. Although Adventureland does have that cool Underground CCI coaster...
  18. It's a lot shorter than I had imagined it would be. No wonder why it didn't kill anyone.
  19. I haven't ridden Balder but I can speak for El Toro. A lot of people like smoothness even in a wooden coaster. Most people who prefer steel coasters to wood will find El Toro high up in their count due to the steel-like smoothness, constant airtime but still some of that wooden coaster chaos.
  20. *Pterosaur coaster track is all in place, supports about 15% done. *Pterosaur banners created *2nd floor of aviary has been started (not seen in screenshots) An overview of Pterosaurs layout before it's covered in jungle forever. Pterosaur's lift hill, drop and pretzel loop. As you can see, I'm not very far along with supports or theming. Pterosaur (B&M Flying Coaster) takes peeps on a wild flight through the jungle starting from the JP Aviary where the actual pteronadons are kept. This area will eventually be enclosed and themed as a second floor added to the jeep ride's show building. Th This area looks terrible right now seeing how Pterosaur has hardly any supports and theming. There will also be another big building added (Discovery Center) and a smaller restaurant. Think of this as a BEFORE picture to compare to the way it WILL look. As you can see, I'm trying to keep the coasters as far apart as possible. The Lost Continent is way up on a hill in the opposite corner from City Under Siege.
  21. My bad, I was out late last night with some friends. I'm working on the stuff right now, def. tonight you'll have new shots.
  22. I have never been to the place and have never actually seen any photos other than the park's brochure. You're lucky your niece will go on rides like the log flume, at that age I probably would have been terrified.
  23. There was just a bit on the news about the portable freefall tower drop zone falling an addtional 10' down the tower and coming to a crash at the base of the ride. They say the bottom of the gondola absorbed most of the impact and none of the injuries on the riders are life-threatening. They said the fair this accident happened at was in Syracuse so I am assuming this is the NY State Fair. I've always felt kind of unsure about portable carnival rides especially big ones like Drop Tower, this certainly doesn't help the feeling. Glad everyone will be OK though.
  24. Maybe the new buyer will have even bigger plans for the place. I mean, at least it's not going to become condos like every other park that's been bought out recently.
  25. I hope they're right this time, I can't imagine ice age theming on really anything. Ice Age already has a ride in Germany anyways, let's be original this time.
