When you're in the front seat going over this little hump, you're still engaged on the lift, in the back seat, you're basically thrown off of the lift at this point feeling like you have some extra speed. Don't kno whow it would feel like stopping, I feel a difference in ride from front to back seats but not THAT particular feeling you described.

Speaking of aquatrax coasters... What exactly does Atlantis Adventure do after the launch? I heard there was in fact an inversion after the launch but another person told me there is not. What exactly is this element then? (as seen under construction) ??? -
Lift-hill coasters versus launched coasters
ECZenith replied to AndyGiles's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As long as there are B&Ms and wooden coasters there will be chain lifts. Nothing beats the anticipation of climbing a lift hill and reide designers know that. -
Oh well, thats fine by me. The park doesn't NEED anything anyays. As I mentione dbeofre, it's one of the few places I've been to that's able to maintain a perfect balance of ride types and attractions.

I finally made it down to LC for my '06 visit and walked away very pleased. The parking lot looked crowded when we got into it, but all of the lines moved well all day. The waterpark sucked in most of the crowds. here's the rides I did... Boulder Dash-Running two trains all day, got a bunch of rides in early before it got crowded around noon. Even then, it was about an 8 minute wait to get on. BD is now my #2 wooden coaster since El Toro opened, and this year I found it to be a lot rougher than usual. The environment this coaster is in never ceases to amaze me and is definately a gem. Ghost Hunt-Longest wait of the day, 20 minutes. I like this ride, but what I really love about it is the outside of the building and the way the cars exit out the back above the food/game stands below. A fun Sally shooter and definately worth the wait. LC really has a great balance of rides thanks to the this,BD,and the newly added... Thunder & Lightning-After taking advantage of the free drinks and an awesome Panini sandwich place over by the log flume, it was time for some S&S screamin' and Thudner & Lightning did not dissapoint. I had never been the larger version of the Screamin' Swing before today and ended up enjoying it better than the upcharge versions, mainly because it looked more solid and impressive of a machine than the single arm variation. They only had one arm running (didn't know they could do that) so the line was about 10 minutes all day. I don't see what all the hate is about for these things, I love them. Downtime-Walkon! This turbo drop offers a great view of the rest of the park and Compounce Mountain. As the gondola lifts, a ticking clock is heard, once it's ready to drop, an alarm goes off, adding to the theming elemts of a broken clock below this ride is pretty decent. Got lots of drops on this one today... Rapids-This is one of the only rapids rides I'd been on that gets you absolutely soaked without the use of any waterfalls, just constantly splashing riders from all sides. 15 minute wait for this one. I saw the construction site for Zoomers which is basically a pile of dirt right now. We also went to the waterpark to swim in the lake and check out the lazy river, it was packed but we were able to get one slide done with a wait of about 10 mins... Can't wait till they get their next coaster in 08, it will only add to the great overall expereience that is Lake Compounce.

A big bunny hop and now a corkscrew, pretty interesting. Not a combo you see often. Can't believe it's at this point in construction in late August. -

I don't even mind the hallway... this version looks awesome. -
I for one, am very excited about Griffon. YES, it's similar to SheiKra, a much improved version with some unique twists. This is what B&M provides as a product... what else do you expect them to do with the concept? This looks like it's reached the limits of what can be done with a dive machine thus far. Busch deals with B&Ms for most of their big coaster projects, don't expect Intamin megacoasters to spring up just out of nowhere... A presumably better dive machine half the distance away, I'll definately take it.

LMAO about the blue twisters, when I got on them I think they were actually blue. Screw waiting an hour for any waterslide besides SFNE's Typhoon. -

Kraken is one of the few B&M floorless coasters that DOES in fact deserve a 10/10. It's my fvaorite floorless... glad you enjoyed it as much as I do! -
I think the cool (not opinion, temp wise) colors will fit the area nicely with Alpy having the white and green. Warm bright colors would definatelty clash. I also happen to like the slightly tealish blue, and just how Montu represents a hot setting and Alpy a cold... they do it once again with SheiKra and Griffon.

7-22-06 *Jurassic Park updated with Dino Tours *Dueling Dragons lift hills fixed due to suggestion Large t-rex (scene 8) The last half of Dino Tours winds alongside the JPRA's double down drop. This area features several raptor animatronics. T-Rex (scene 4) The tour starts with a trip through the aviary. This indoor show building will also be adjacent with the "Pterosaur" B&M flying coaster's station to keep with the theme. JPDT Station, watchtower, and show building. The Jurassic Park Dino Tours jeep ride is located to the left of the area's entry and the JPRA. More buildings have popped up in JP. How's that? An overview of everything but Lost Continent. -

I noticed that too... loss of interest as we get within a month of the event. I think part of the reason is a lot of people talk about "spoilers" and what the houses will have, and since this year the houses are based on older versions, people don't have much to talk about. I for one, am thinking this will be the best one yet... just because of Die In and Run! It doesn't look like there will be any duds this year (Disorientorium, Cold Blind Terror, Funhouse Of Fear...) as the concepts are proven already. -

Doesn't Atlantis Adventure use a lift hill as well as a LIM run? If that drawing is anywhere near what this will be it seems right... The turns are very tight for a train with more than one car but like everything else said here, could of course be wrong. Definately is looking more and more like an aqua trax, I have to agree. -
I also reccomend taking the skyride as previously mentioned and NOT the train. The trains take a while to come by and go slowly to the Sheikra area. It will take the same amount of time as walking and you'll aslo get to see the animals as active as they will be all day. (morning)

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves, wish I could have made it and met more of you in person. Unfortunately I was stuck here working in the lame northeast... -
I'm not even a local and everyone agrees with the PM I sent. Modern rides first then classics! That simple.
