Universal Studios Escape (RCT 3)

8-30-06 *Lighting added to Marvel Comics City Under Siege *Final theming added to Maximum Carnage *Pterosaur's supports and station have been completed. (Second floor added to aviary/jeep show building) *Hollywood area takes shape, park receives its icon structure. Once JP is finished and I've added the neon/lasers to City Under Siege, Dueling Dragons will be made, then Hollywood and THEN the year round horror nights area. The last half of Pterosaur. This coaster would probably rank right between Superman and Tatsu. Pterosaur's station is in the second floor of the aviary/show building for Dino Tours jeep ride. The back of the JP area... what's that in the background? The park's icon - The Hollywood Sign and the beginnings of the Hollywood area which will feature Jaws, The Mummy, MIB etc. I think that looks better than what you'll see on the first page. Maximum Carnage has received some theming. Someone asked to see Marvel at night - here it is. More lasers and such will be added at a later time... -

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry... Are there seriously some among us who believe it was being taken down because of one photoshopped pic? -

Regarding El Toro... I must have gone on a really good day. Even though the line as well outside the entry sign, the line only took 25 minutes with two trains. -

Nothing beats Mondial's splashover for top spin type rides. I had no idea Moser made one also! They are quite different though... Mondial Moser -

1. I would say Monday would be your best bet... It's going to be jammed all weekend but by Monday night, people need to travel back and the crowds SHOULD be lighter. 2. I've been to GADV a couple times this year and it's been the same thing both times... Head over to Kingda Ka and try to be one of the first in line, this is going to be hard to do if you're getting a q-bot... When it first opens it frequently goes down. What should be a 20 minute wait can easily turn into an hour and a half due to breakdowns and then having to tes tit again. Just wait it out if you want the ride... they start testing and then it's good to go for another half an hour or so before it happens again. With El Toro, I find that it's not usually open with the rest of the rides as they do block tetsing in the morning. You might see them stopping empty trains on the lift to test this, by the time you get your ride on Ka, I would head there next. the line may look very long for this but it moves quickly if they're running two trains. 3. I never use q-bot at SFGADV, and if you don't go there first you probably won't get one. Last year KK didn't have flashpass but I'm not sur e if it has it this year. The rides you will most likely need them on are Superman and Nitro on a busy day but everything else shouldn't be insane like them... El Toro's line moves well and KK is so unreliable it really doesn't make much difference as long as you get there early enough... 4. KK, El Toro, Medusa, Mine Train, skyride to other side of the park for Nitro, Batman, Skull Mountain, etc... The line for Superman gets very crowded so with you hitting the big rides early, it's hard to get on it either way. You may need to get that q-bot. Hope this helps. -

I should be able to get a lot of work done later tonight. I have downloaded lots of new scenery for the horror nights section as well as lots of new street theming to go back and polish off City Under Siege. Does anyone have any favorite HHN houses they would like to see featured? As this area will be next after JP... So far I'm doing Pitch Black, Scary Tales, and Run. The best one sfrom XI, and the best one speriod... I'm open for suggestions. -

Oh, and to whoever asked about the shoot-the-guy-with-paintballs game. I saw it at Wildwood and also I believe in Seaside Heights when I was there in July. Can't believe someone would actually pay to do that... -

Well, that answer smy question of how far along is the "Pirate's Hideaway" construction. I hope they theme the thing as nice as the concept art shows. The cars are certainly decorated nicely. -

SFMM trip report!!!!!!
ECZenith replied to savemagicmountain's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
None of the problems or solutions you mentioned have anything to do with SF weighing there options to sell it or not. Selling the park would take care of a big piece of their debt due to its land value... I want to see SFMM stay open as much as everyone else but those changes wouldn't sway the choice to sell the park or not. -

Geez I had no idea they were going to even attempt to get it going for late 2006 season. At least it will be good to go during opening next year. -
Oh man, that sucks! Sorry to see that... I've yet to head up there myself to check out Goliath, probably going to have to wait until next year.

Do you mean the Jurassic Park River Adventure? There's not much more I can add to it... I was thinking about enclosing the lift, but what on the ride do you feel needs to be finished? I'm always up for suggestions. I'll probably do some work on the park tomorrow since I have the day off and the girlfriend will be busy. -

All drawers can be opened up to 2001. They had some cool artwork and a diagram for RUN. Looking forward to going through a rehash of the run concept, it's always been on eof my favorites. HHN XI was such a good year for the event even when it was toned down because of Sept. 11. Glad to see they are bringing Run back for a second round. Hopefully Eddie will be in this one. -

^^ If you look at the aerial photo you'll see that that this is the ending of the ride and that the two cokscrews are connected (IOW, not dueling...). The low to the bank ground curves come first, camelback, and then back to back corkscrews. The corkscrews aren't interlocked but there are footers leading through at least one of them meaning the track will thread through it.
