  1. That is definately some kind of decoration. That coaster is physically impossible... ouch.
  2. I'm sure to visit twister everytime I'm at the studios. It's my third favorite attraction in the park, after Mummy and MIB... I think a lot of people find the tornado impressive, and the overall presentation is just awesome.
  3. There's a video here... http://archive-c01.libsyn.com/bndteJh2nX3Ed5d8mnKap2unkXSX/podcasts/insidethemagic/wdwpirates.mp4
  4. The other launched Vekomas are fairly smooth (RNRC, express....) so I don't see why this one wouldn't be. Good job, I hope one of these is actually built someday.
  5. I'm about an hour from WaterWizz and and 1.5 hrs from Hurricane Harbor, so this will be the closest. (25 minutes) Livetothrill, don't forget a major theme park will be coming out of the Utopia Studios corporation within a few years just over the CT border adjacent to Mehegan Sun casino. And you never know what the west warwick casino will bring with it, if it becomes a resort city like many are thinking a coaster or two could be a possibility.
  6. Ah, they must know we're coming through next year.
  7. While this is sad to see... (especially wooden) coasters have a life span and they just won't make run forever due to either technical or financial reasons. I've had to see such classics like the Whalom Park Flyer Comet and the entire Lincoln, Rocky Point, and Crescent parks all go down by the bulldozer, sad to see but it happens all the time.
  8. Blackpool's sounds like a Vekoma Mad House. (like Houdini here in the states) Pirate Ride was an Arrow electric-tracked dark ride for whoever asked.
  9. Clyde & Seamore is always fun (they're sea lions but there is a Walrus in the show) Too ba dyou didn't get to try out Kraken! Did you at least get on Journey to Atlantis?
  10. Please don't shoot me for this... Kingda Ka.
  11. In the 3rd to the last photo... what is that weird curvy building?
  12. Awww, that last photo of the Universal Studios segment was adorable. I agree, the VW on display in front of Mummy is awful looking... what were they thinking? Put it on City Walk or something at least.
  13. The first LSM launch looks so "non steep". Must be because the first drop is beyond vertical. *Edit, the lift/launch is about halfway done! Looks alot more like the normal steepness of a lift hill now that more track is in place.
  14. ^ Finally a positive review on this ride, I was getting worried. I've been wanting to ride the High Energy version that travels in Germany since I first saw it. It must be run even better than Blackpool's being that it's manually controlled.
  15. I love the theming on Tora, nicely done.
  16. Looking good, I like the way your buildings come out.
  17. The Kraken head is more to the left of that picture. It's right where the track comes up from the tunnel.
  18. Thanks for sharing these photos, European fairs - especially Oktoberfest never cease to amaze me with the sheer size of their attractions. If you go back for an update when the rides are running, could you get some photos of their dark rides?
  19. I agree, the picture of Spin Doctor came out awesome. Did you ride Bling? It seems nobody loves it... I'd kill to ride a Zierer Star Shape.
  20. I actually like Intamin 1st gens alot. While I prefer the newer drop towers, the older ones are just... different and worth saving. It's too bad a company couldn't redesign the first gen style (that curve sat the bottom) to add some kind of gimmick or some height to the design to compete with newer type freefalls. Sad to see another one go... (remembers Rocky Point's well) Sob....
  21. Good eyes finding that mickey in the pavement! I believe Nemo's Undersea Adventure (formerly the Living Seas) will be ready by November. I remember reading it in a recent report.
  22. I've gone to every HHN since XI (2001) and agree with what's been said here. Spend your day in Universal Studios and have your HHN ticket and express passes already bought. When Universal closes, you will be directed to a "stay and scream" area, as everyone else is being kicked out, you'll be among the first to get to whichever maze opens first for the night. As the flow of people starts coming in, head to the rearmost house as the ones up front will eat up the incoming crowds. I plan on doing HHN without an express pass and I'll let you know how I do on Sept 30.
  23. I'll hopefully be on "the bus" when I visit next year but I'll definately keep these tips in mind, thanks.
  24. There's a BIG difference in people who just so happened to ride (insert ride here) so many times, and then there's the people that WANT everyone to know they've done so... making a website, wearing (wtf?) yeti gloves... etc.
  25. Can anyone access the soak city entrance or do you have to be staying at the nearby hotel? Out of the 4 times I've been to CP I've gone through the maingate, never even considered my alternate options.
