  1. Hershey is getting that freakish peanut butter cup shooting dark ride.
  2. I prefer Blizzard Beach by miles. Summit Plummet alone is worth the visit. The theming is extensive and everywhere, and there's several big slide towers besides Summit Plummet.
  3. http://www.coasterforce.com/index.php?categoryid=388 There's a pretty interesting model there that shows the track leaves the ride building on the facade. Will be cool if it actually does that, kind of conflicts with the blueprints though... As for the cars ride, I'm surprised they went in that direction... A test track style ride themed to the movie "Cars" would be awesome. I'm looking forward to the release of that movie, at my age that frightens me...
  4. While there's already a thread here on SFMM... I'm going to SFMM on the 20th of May (Saturday!!) As it gets closer and closer to my trip, I'm worried about the lines on a weekend. On Sunday, there is an ERT event where I'll be able to hit Tatsu, X, Goliath, Revolution, Viper & Scream. That Saturday I'm hoping to hit Batman, Riddler, Deja Vu (if it's open!!) and all the less popular coasters. My question is this... To those of you live nearby, or have done it before-Is it even worth it to go on a Saturday in May (is it insanely crowded on spring weekends)? I know anything can happen, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect.
  5. SFNE got two new rides this year... but they also took 4 away.
  6. Any coaster with a name like "Coaster" "Roller Coaster" and "Thrill Coaster" is funny because no creativity went into what is usually a huge investment for parks.
  7. My favorite drop ride is WDW's tower of terror, but the craziest one I've ever done was PKI's drop zone. The anticipation waiting that high up, gets me every time.
  8. I'll let ya know next month when I get back from DCA. I'm surprised the newer versions of the tower aren't going to have a "5th dimension" style portion to the ride. I find it to be one of the major elements that makes ToT the great ride it is.
  9. The worst time I ever has was my first visit to SFA. The second worst time I ever had was my second visit to SFA... The year Superman opened, I decided I had to try it out and scoop up the other credits. The lines were ridiculous, the staff were extremely rude, and the nice environment a park is supposed to have just wasn't there. I gave the park another try a couple years later and nope... still the same.
  10. Wow, I never even knew there were ever more than two Busch Gardens. Learn something new everyday I suppose.
  11. I've always wanted to check out Fujiyama, but those trains bring back memories of SFGADV's painful Viper...
  12. I joined ACE for the ERT events this season but you'll never see me with patches/pins/fanny packs and the like at any point. There are a lot of awesome people I have met at some New England ACE events, and I hope those that take the club seriously don't take offense to the jokes... because that's all they are.
  13. This park is going to be awesome when they open this and TOT. Can't wait to see what the theming looks like once the coaster's built. hopefully it isn't that cardboard-cutout stuff we've seen on some recent rides. Thanks for the update!
  14. Sweet photos, man. I like what I'm seeing so far in all the "SF Opening" photo tr's that have been popping up recently. RMT was one of my first coasters, it's great to see it hasn't been neglected with all the other action going around in the park.
  15. There's also one of these coming up in Marineland in Niagara Falls. Wish there was one closer to me, I love Huss rides.
  16. The action park looping slide is very much real. I remember seeing it in a brochure at a rest stop on the way to SFGADV. Judging from this photo it was there until at least 1996.
  17. It's so... pretty! ::sniff:: I can't wait to get on both Goliaths this summer. Thanks for the great photos!
  18. This thing is going to be an absolute orgy of airtime... We're not worthy... 2006 is definately shaping up to be another season for the books.
  19. I think they'll let Storm Runner be top dog for a while as they focus on the waterpark and family additions (like the crazy reese's the ride thing) Hell, I'm surprised Hershey even GOT Storm Runner, when it was first announced I was shocked they were getting a rocket coaster! The park's come a long way. Any new significant coaster in the next couple years would be an even bigger shocker.
  20. Another vore for Millennium Force, it's my #2 overall w/ only Superman ROS ahead of it.
  21. Nice TR bro, nothing sad and pathetic about it. I must have that boatfull of beer... Can't-get-used-to-BGE !
  22. Thanks for the report, I was hoping a TPR New Englander made it to the event. Surprised to hear of so many ride removals at SFNE!
  23. Hard to tell from the photo... What color are the trains?
  24. I like a smooth wooden coaster, not a fan of the rough old-school woodies. I guess I prefer the high banked turns as they offer the smoothest ride.
  25. I hope the lines aren't bad when i go in May. I'm really looking forward to X Tatsu and Riddler. Hope it's hot so the water rides eat up the crowds.
